18. Miami Dolphins

Mike McDaniel was the hottest name in coaching for a little while but that seems to be done now. Once sitting at 8-3 and ready to make a move in the AFC East, the Miami Dolphins have now lost five in a row.

One thing that’s really impacted their play is the continued injury concerns for Tua Tagovailoa. He was out again in Week 17 as the New England Patriots handed them a 23-21 loss.

Miami did fight back despite being down 23-14 with roughly four minutes to play but couldn’t recover the onside kick after a touchdown pulled them to within two. New England is now ahead of them in the standings, so the Dolphins need to beat the Jets next week and hope New England doesn’t shock the Bills.

Three losses in a row really hurt the Seattle Seahawks’ playoff chances but they stopped the bleeding with a win over the New York Jets. They’re now 8-8 and technically in the final spot but have to see the Lions beat the Packers and win their game against the Rams in Week 18 to have a shot.

No matter how things go, it’s been an impressive season for a team that most of us thought would be rebuilding after trading Russell Wilson. Instead, they’re still alive in the final week of the season and have two picks in Round 1 next season. One of which will be a premium selection since the Broncos have been so bad.
