1. Mike Gesicki

One of the biggest questions on the minds of fans is the future of tight end Mike Gesicki. Gesicki has been a fan favorite for the Dolphins since he was drafted in 2018, known for his ability to make spectacular catches and his positive attitude. However, his role was significantly reduced this past season, leading many to question if the team should re-sign him or allow him to hit the open market as a free agent.

Recently, Dolphins’ general manager Chris Grier stated that “Gesicki has earned the right to be a free agent”, indicating that the team may be prepared to let him go. This decision is not surprising, as Gesicki does not fit the offensive scheme of new head coach Mike McDaniel, who prefers a more run-heavy, ball-control offense. Gesicki, known for his receiving abilities, would be better utilized in a pass-heavy offense that utilizes him as a big slot and flexing on the boundary.

Many fans have mixed feelings about Gesicki’s future with the team. Some believe that he should be let go in order to free up cap space to address other needs on the team, while others argue that he is a valuable weapon on offense and should be kept, especially considering the lack of depth at the tight end position.

Others believe that Gesicki deserves to go to a team that will use him since the Fins couldn’t find a way to incorporate one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
