Washington Commanders mock draft: 2023 Scouting Combine edition

1st Round 16th Pick – Tanner McKee, Quarterback, Stanford

Career Stats: 5,336 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 63.2 completion percentage

2nd Round 47th Pick – Dawand Jones, Tackle, Ohio State

Career Stats: 1,633 career starts at tackle

3rd Round 97th Pick – Nick Herbig, Edge, Wisconsin

Career Stats: 134 total tackles, 36 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 7 passes defended

The Commanders were once again dead last in the NFC East and are looking to turn things around but need a lot of help in doing so. Unfortunately, they tried to trade up but were unwilling to part with crucial draft picks so instead they settled on quarterback Tanner McKee out of Stanford to come in and give them a quarterback they think can help them win.

They then added Dawand Jones to give McKee some added protection along the offensive line. In the third round, they elected to take Nick Herbig who for some reason was still around giving them added depth at edge rusher. They still have much more that needs to be done but it’s a nice foundation to build on.
