While NFL fans wait for the regular season to begin, Peyton Manning and his Omaha Productions media team have released a brand-new series on Netflix simply titled Quarterback, a series which features three players from the 2022 season with in-depth looks at their preparation, their personality, and their family lives. It also goes into detail about last season and how things fared for each of the three quarterback subjects.
For the first season, the three quarterbacks being looked at are Kansas City Chiefs MVP Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings starter Kirk Cousins, and former Atlanta Falcons starter Marcus Mariota. Each of these guys has fascinating on-field storylines to monitor, but what makes the show outstanding is having the curtain peeled back on all that was going on behind the scenes for the players.
The injuries they are dealing with, the way they handle the press, their family lives, and everything in between. It’s really a well-done show from Manning’s production company and it’s obviously timed perfectly. Football fans have a chance to binge the show before training camp begins, scratching everyone’s football itch for a brief moment.
Watching the show, you can’t help but get excited about the potential of a second season. This is a very raw and organic look behind the scenes of some of the biggest stars in the NFL and pro sports. Which players would we want to see in season two? Here are three picks that would make for must-see TV.
3 players we want to see on Season 2 of the Netflix “Quarterback” series

3. Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets
I think if you asked the majority of NFL fans to compile a list of the three quarterbacks they would most highly covet to see in a series like this, Aaron Rodgers would probably make most lists. Therefore, he really qualifies as low-hanging fruit in this type of discussion.
But the intrigue is obvious.
Aaron Rodgers is an NFL legend who is changing teams and more than that, he’s moving to one of the biggest media markets in sports. The pressure on Aaron Rodgers this coming season is going to be immense, which makes for must-see TV. Beyond that, this is just one of the most interesting guys in the entire league. Who wouldn’t want to see some behind-the-scenes of his day-to-day life?
On top of all of that, I feel like Rodgers is often misunderstood as a person. Having him on a show like this would allow people to really formulate a more accurate opinion of what they actually think of Rodgers as a human being instead of basing their opinion on him off of press conference one-liners.

NFL quarterback no. 2: Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
After picking Aaron Rodgers for one of my three that I would want to have a closer look at this season, I started thinking about some of the young players in the league. I think one of the biggest advantages of the first season of the Netflix series is that you had one of the league’s biggest superstars (Patrick Mahomes) alongside two guys that are relatively unknown and bordering on boring.
Although Joe Burrow is quickly establishing himself as one of the biggest stars in the league, I think being on this Netflix show could really ramp up his overall popularity among the NFL fan base.
Or make him even more of a villain to some.
Joe Burrow has certainly been no stranger to the spotlight as a former Heisman winner, National Champion, and someone who has quickly turned the Cincinnati Bengals into a Super Bowl contender. Those factors alone make Burrow a player worth following around in this fashion, but I want to know more about Burrow’s actual day-to-day life. I want to know how he prepares. I want to know who he studies, how he gets better, how he’s motivated, and everything else that makes him great.
I want to see more about Burrow the person even though we know so much about Burrow the football player. He would be an incredible subject for this Netflix series.

NFL quarterback no. 1: Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos
If there is one quarterback I would want to see in the Netflix series next year, and I could only choose one, it would be Russell Wilson. Wilson’s departure from Seattle was one of the biggest storylines in 2022, but it paled in comparison to the storylines that would be created throughout the course of last season.
The Denver Broncos were an abject disaster. They were a weekly train wreck. There were very few redemptive qualities for the team, which fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett before the end of his first year on the job.
Russell Wilson was obviously at the center of so much of the criticism received by the Broncos, and deservedly so. He was playing terribly for most of the year and was generating headlines from all over the football media world. It felt like his departure from Seattle opened up the floodgates for former Seahawks teammates, Seattle beat reporters, and many in the national media to oversaturate the market with Russell Wilson hatred.
Russ has always been a bit on the “corny” side as many accuse him of being, but he’s also been a stand-up guy and is the winningest quarterback over the first 10 years of a career in NFL history. He deserves more respect than what we saw last year.
Putting Wilson under this kind of microscope is probably not the type of attention he really needs at this point, and I doubt he would be one of the subjects for this documentary because of that, but I also wouldn’t put it past Peyton Manning to find a way to get what could be a great redemption story on camera, especially with his ties to the Denver Broncos organization.
