Day 2 of free agency has now come and gone, so let's check out the ideal first-round targets for teams in the 2025 NFL Draft at this point. As expected, the free agency market has been quite active thus far, and teams have not been scared to hand out some expensive contracts for players they want on their team.
And in many of these instances, these moves do help teams gain more flexibility in the NFL Draft. The 2025 NFL Draft is less than two months away, and while the main goal for some teams may not have changed with free agency, there could be some slight adjustments here.
Let's dive into ideal first-round targets for teams in the 2025 NFL Draft after free agency day two.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Ideal first-round targets after Day 2 of free agency
Tennessee Titans - Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL)
Cam Ward is the best QB prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, and with the Tennessee Titans beefing up their offensive line in free agency, it might make sense to strike while the iron is hot to land the QB of the future.
Cleveland Browns - Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
Well, the Cleveland Browns traded for Kenny Pickett! They also paid Myles Garrett in a shocking move. Their NFL Draft plans likely have not changed.
New York Giants - Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Shedeur Sanders is probably going to end up on the New York Giants, honestly. The G-Men might be left between guys like Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson at QB in 2025. In any of those instances, a first-round QB is still necessary.
New England Patriots - Will Campbell, OT, LSU
The New England Patriots have gotten busy bringing in a ton of talent on the defensive side in the ball, which does clear some things up there. The Pats should target Will Campbell with their first-round pick.
Jacksonville Jaguars - Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
With the Jacksonville Jaguars beefing up their offensive line in free agency and also adding CB Jourdan Lewis, I still see a path for them to bring in someone like Will Johnson in the first round. Jacksonville also signed WR Dyami Brown to give Trevor Lawrence a new weapon.
Las Vegas Raiders - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
With the Las Vegas Raiders trading for Geno Smith and hiring Pete Carroll, you'd think that they'd want to try and win now, and fielding a top run game is something Carroll has loved doing. It would make sense to see Ashton Jeanty heading to Vegas.
New York Jets - Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Justin Fields is now the QB of the New York Jets, and he would need all the help he can get. Tetairoa McMillan would be a nice compliment on offense next to Garrett Wilson.
Carolina Panthers - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
The Carolina Panthers have again thrown a ton of money around in free agency and have added more bodies to the defensive side of the ball. This clears a path for them to give Bryce Young another offensive weapon in Emeka Egbuka.
New Orleans Saints - Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
The New Orleans Saints have not done a ton in free agency and should stack the trenches in the 2025 NFL Draft. Kellen Moore landed this head coaching job because of his recent work with the Philadelphia Eagles, where the trenches are paramount.
It would not shock me if someone like Armand Membou ended up landing with the Saints.
Chicago Bears - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
The Chicago Bears have clearly left their mark along the offensive line in free agency, which gives them the ability to take someone like Ashton Jeanty in the 2025 NFL Draft. This could be a best-case scenario for Ben Johnson, their new head coach, and you have to wonder if the OL additions were done with Jeanty in mind...
San Francisco 49ers - James Pearce Jr, EDGE, Tennessee
The San Francisco 49ers have said goodbye to a ton of players on both sides of the ball recently, and with them having a shell of their former defense, grabbing someone like James Pearce Jr makes a ton of sense for them to rebuild their pass rush.
Dallas Cowboys - Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
The Dallas Cowboys signed Javonte Williams, so they added someone to the backfield. Another wide receiver is needed, so a good first-round target for them in the 2025 NFL Draft is Luther Burden III from Missouri.
Miami Dolphins - Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
The Miami Dolphins need a dynamic weapon at tight end, and there isn't one in free agency right now. Tyler Warren on the Miami Dolphins may actually complete this offense in a big way for Tua Tagovailoa.
Indianapolis Colts - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
The Indianapolis Colts will be signing Daniel Jones and have also addressed their secondary in free agency, so they could target their most urgent remaning need and grab Colston Loveland from Michigan.
Atlanta Falcons - Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia
The Atlanta Falcons have not made a ton of moves in free agency and would benefit from infusing some young talent into their DL room. Mykel Williams could be a good fit for them in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Arizona Cardinals - Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
The Arizona Cardinals agreed to terms with Josh Sweat, so adding some pass rush help was accomplished. How about another weapon for the offense? James Conner is getting old, so perhaps Omarion Hampton makes some sense.
Cincinnati Bengals - Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M
With the strong possibility that Trey Hendrickson is out the door in an eventual trade, the Cincinnati Bengals would benefit from bringing on some young pass rush help in the 2025 NFL Draft. Shemar Stewart could be a good fit to fill the shoes left by Hendrickson.
Seattle Seahawks - Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama
The Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms with Sam Darnold on a free agent contract, but they have to repair their offensive line in a big way. The interior is especially scary, so Tyler Booker could be a huge get for them in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
Signing Haason Reddick was a decent move for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so this could be them setting the stage for some long-term pass rush relief with Mike Green from Marshall.
Denver Broncos - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Another ideal fit for Ashton Jeanty - the Denver Broncos addressed key defensive needs in free agency thus far and could enter the 2025 NFL Draft with their sole focus on adding key offensive players for their ascending QB, Bo Nix. This would be a scary fit for the rest of the AFC.
Pittsburgh Steelers - Jahdae Barron, DB, Texas
The Pittsburgh Steelers have to figure out their QB situation, but they also need some defensive back help in a big way, so Jahdae Barron, who can play all over the secondary, makes a lot of sense for them in the first round.
Los Angeles Chargers - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
The Los Angeles Chargers really haven't done much to help out Justin Herbert thus far. Them adding a former Jim Harbaugh Michigan player in Colston Loveland makes a lot of sense to take this offense to the next level.
Green Bay Packers - Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
After spending big on guard Aaron Banks in free agency, the Green Bay Packers could target Matthew Golden to try and finally find a legitimate no. 1 WR for Jordan Love to throw to.
Minnesota Vikings - Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina
The Minnesota Vikings have been spending big-time in free agency, landing players like Will Fries, Ryan Kelly, Jonathan Allen, and retaining Aaron Jones and Byron Murphy.
They do still have a need at the CB position, so I went with Shavon Revel here to help them out on the backend for years to come.
Houston Texans - Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
I did not see the Laremy Tunsil trade coming, so you could probably pencil in any offensive tackle to the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. I would expect Houston to add to their offensive line in free agency as the days and weeks roll on.
Los Angeles Rams - Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State
The Los Angeles Rams have essentially swapped Cooper Kupp for Davante Adams and have pretty much held steady with their other moves. I would still personally say that the secondary is a huge area of need for this team, so it might make sense for GM Les Snead to go that route in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Baltimore Ravens - Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina
The Baltimore Ravens were able to re-sign Ronnie Stanley, which is huge. The Ravens seem to always need secondary help for some reason, so Nick Emmanwori could be a logical fit for them in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Detroit Lions - Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texams A&M
The Detroit Lions have not made a ton of splashes in free agency and do have the best roster in the NFL when healthy. They could still benefit from beefing up their defensive line as Aidan Hutchinson returns from the injury he suffered in 2024.
Washington Commanders - Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College
The Washington Commanders made some major moves, and the two biggest were trading for Deebo Samuel and trading for Laremy Tunsil. They do need some pass rush help, so perhaps that is the route they can take in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Buffalo Bills - Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
The Buffalo Bills have to upgrade their secondary in the 2025 NFL Draft. Malaki Starks could be a logical fit for them here in the first round. Buffalo notably extended Josh Allen and Khalil Shair.
Kansas City Chiefs - Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
The Kansas City Chiefs signed backup tackle Jaylon Moore on a two-year deal, and just because he is going to slide in as the LT starter does not mean KC shouldn't consider tackle in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. It would be a good idea for them to hedge this bet a bit.
Philadelphia Eagles - Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
With Milton Williams and Josh Sweat finding new homes, we could be in line to see the Eagles make another defensive line move in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Walter Nolen does make a lot of sense for them now. Will Howie Roseman be able to pull it off?
