Free agency is going to be wild this offseason, and this is the case even just considering signings that teams can make. It feels like there are going to be some big-time trades, but the signings are what makes free agency so special.
With the legal tampering period right around the corner, teams are gearing up to spend big-time or hardly spend at all given specific situations. Teams like the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers are flush with cap space and can make a ton of moves.
But other teams that are tight up against the cap might struggle to sign a few players. We've tried to sort through all of this and roll out our final free agency predictions, where we included trade destinations and top signing predictions.
Final predictions for the 2026 NFL Free Agency period
Chicago Bears trade for Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby
The Chicago Bears got some of the major action started by swinging a trade, sending DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills. Trading Moore was something that felt inevitable, especially given the Bears situation, as they have long been seen as a landing spot for Maxx Crosby. NFL insider Jordan Schultz also recently had this to say after the Moore trade:
I do not get the sense the #Bears are done on the trade market…. https://t.co/FcTDonWcFk
— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) March 5, 2026
This feels significant, and it feels like a Crosby trade to Chicago will happen at some point. The Bears now have an extra second-round pick from this trade that they could include in a package for Crosby or use it to soften the blow of dealing him.
Adding Crosby would be a major, NFC-shifting move, and you get the sense that Chicago is trying to pull this move off behind the scenes. If so, it would be hard to bet on this team not again winning the NFC North in the 2026 campaign.
Philadelphia Eagles trade AJ Brown to the New England Patriots
It remains to be seen if the Philadelphia Eagles will eventually part with AJ Brown, but if they do, Brown heading to the New England Patriots makes a lot of sense, as he would reunite with Mike Vrabel when the both of them were with the Tennessee Titans.
With the Patriots set to cut Stefon Diggs, the team will clearly be searching for a big-time upgrade, and while someone like Alec Pierce makes a lot of sense, Brown is a better player and would be a more impactful addition to the offense.
Trey Hendrickson signs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It seems like Trey Hendrickson does have interest in joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency, which feels significant. Hendrickson lives in Florida and would obviously benefit from not having to deal with any state income tax. Hendrickson began his career with the New Orleans Saints before signing with the Cincinnati Bengals.
He barely played this year, and now that he's on the wrong side of 30, any team signing him would have to be careful, but the Buccaneers do have a huge need to beef up the pass rush, so this could end up being a logical landing spot.
Kenneth Walker III signs with the New York Giants
The New York Giants likely want to surround Jaxson Dart with as much talent as possible, as he clearly has the goods, but he put himself in harm's way too often in 2025. Dart has to learn how to better protect himself, and being given a strong rushing attack helps that. Kenneth Walker III won the Super Bowl MVP and is going to cash-in. The Giants swoop in and give him a three-year deal worth around $45 million.
The Giants could be a huge threat in the 2026 season.
Alec Pierce signs with the Los Angeles Chargers
Alec Pierce might be one of the highest-paid players in free agency, and one spot he could fit is with the Los Angeles Chargers, as the one thing Justin Herbert does the best is launch the ball down the field, and Pierce has led the NFL in yards per reception in each of the last two seasons.
This signing could flat-out supercharge the Chargers offense in 2026.
Travis Etienne signs with the Denver Broncos
Travis Etienne has over 5,000 scrimmage yards over the last four seasons, and in three of those seasons, he has eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing. Etienne is the type of investment the Denver Broncos have to make on the offensive side, as we saw just how rough things could get without a strong run game.
J.K. Dobbins was again not able to stay healthy, and it's not likely that Denver bets on him again. The Broncos sign Etienne and 'steal' him from a fellow AFC juggernaut.
John Franklin-Myers signs with the Tennessee Titans
This feels like one of the safest 'bets' in free agency - John Franklin-Myers heading to the Tennessee Titans only feels like a matter of time. There are a metric-ton of connections at play here, driving this prediction. Franklin-Myers is coming off two very productive seasons with the Denver Broncos in 2024 and 2025 and is likely in a spot where this offseason is going to be his last big payday in the NFL.
Well, the Titans have a ton of cap space and can simply buy talent this offseason. Loading up on the defensive line would be a wise idea. Franklin-Myers heads to the Titans, and I bet this is one of the first free agency deals we hear about when the legal tampering period begins on March 9th.
Devin Lloyd signs with the Washington Commanders
Needing an infusion of youth on both sides of the ball, the Washington Commanders sign Devin Lloyd in our free agency predictions. Lloyd is coming off a Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro season and really excelled in coverage, which is a huge pull for linebackers. This would be a slam-dunk signing by the Commanders front office.
Rasheed Walker signs with the New England Patriots
The Will Campbell situation is interesting, and I am not sure it's a bad idea to kick him inside to guard. Sure, we might be jumping the gun here, but it's obvious that Campbell did suffer a bit at left tackle. It would not shock me if the Patriots threw a ton of money at Rasheed Walker in free agency.
David Edwards signs with the Seattle Seahawks
Upgrading from Anthony Bradford should be a top priority for the Seattle Seahawks this coming offseason, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a better upgrade than David Edwards, who figures to get a deal worth close to $20 million per season.
Offensive line play is always a premium in the NFL, and after a successful tenure with the Bills, Edwards heads to the Super Bowl champion Seahawks.
Tyler Linderbaum signs with the Los Angeles Chargers
Tyler Linderbaum is a three-time Pro Bowl center who is, as of now, set to be a free agent, which feels wild to type out. He's a top-3 center in the NFL and is going to flat-out shatter the center contract market. With the shocking retirement of Drew Dalman, one would have to wonder if the Bears would make this move, but the Chargers are in a better cap situation and could throw a top-tier contract at him.
The Chargers interior offensive line was downright awful in 2025. Linderbaum can help reverse that easily.
Wan'Dale Robinson signs with the Tennessee Titans
The Brian Daboll connection and clear need for a wide receiver upgrade makes this potential pairing extremely logical. Wan'Dale Robinson is not a no. 1 wide receiver, but he's going to be a high-end security blankt for Cam Ward in 2026 and beyond.
Tyler Allgeier signs with the Seattle Seahawks
If the Seahawks do lose Walker in free agency, they could pivot to Tyler Allgeier, a player who ran for over 1,000 yards in his rookie season, brings pass protection to the mix, and is one of the tougher players to bring down in the NFL.
Khalil Mack signs with the Cincinnati Bengals
This could be a fun one. At some point, the Cincinnati Bengals have to get serious and spend this cap space, right? Khalil Mack heading to the Bengals on a rich one-year deal would honestly be awesome, as Cincy is truly just an average defense away from being a juggernaut once again, and Mack has a bit left in the tank.
Odafe Oweh signs with the San Francisco 49ers
Fielding perhaps the worst defensive front in the NFL last year, the San Francisco 49ers are going to go hunting for upgrades in free agency, and they could find one in Odafe Oweh, who is going to cash in, but he's not necessarily going to break the bank, so this could be a really nice 'bang for your buck' situation for the 49ers, a team that won 12 games despite a ton of injuries in 2025.
Bryan Cook signs with the Los Angeles Rams
We did see the Los Angeles Rams swing a major trade for Trent McDuffie, and they might not be done yet. Signing one of the top safeties on the free agency market in Bryan Cook could really thrust this secondary into orbit, and the defensive line is already quite solid.
