After the first overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, utter chaos might ensue, as this draft does not feature a ton of top-end talent, so the teams wanting to draft some of the few blue-chip prospects might have to make a major trade up the board.

There are also four teams that have two first-round picks, so there is a world where one or more of those teams consider packaging both picks to move up higher in the first round, but teams that want to move up also need to find a partner willing to move down.

This is not a one-way street, but most draft slots do have a price. Let's dive into our fresh mock draft that features some utter chaos in the top 10.

Major chaos in top 10 picks following obvious first overall selection

1. Las Vegas Raiders - Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana

The Las Vegas Raiders are going to stand pat with the first overall pick and take Fernando Mendoza, but I guess there is always a chance that the Raiders get some type of godfather offer to move down. Typically, though, the need for a quarterback trumps most any offer a team can get.

2. New York Jets - Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio State

Arvell Reese is an impact player and will be a good pick for the New York Jets. One of the best places to emphasize in the NFL Draft besides the quarterback is with the defensive line and adding pass rushers.

3. Dallas Cowboys (via ARI) - David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech

The Dallas Cowboys decide to package both first-round picks in this draft to move up to the third overall spot, taking the insanely productive David Bailey from Texas Tech. It's a bold move, but one that could pay off in no time.

4. Cincinnati Bengals (via TEN) - Caleb Downs, S, Ohio State

The Cincinnati Bengals get in on the fun and trade up six spots, sending the Tennessee Titans down to pick 10. Cincy grabs Caleb Downs and finally gets some talent in the secondary, which has been a sore spot for them ever since making it to the Super Bowl back in 2021.

5. Los Angeles Rams (via NYG) - Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State

Three major trades in a row here sees the Los Angeles Rams also packaging both of their first-round picks to take Sonny Styles, the best linebacker in the country and a day one starter on a defense that does need a bit more talent.

6. Cleveland Browns - Spencer Fano, OT, Utah

The Cleveland Browns watch the chaos in front of them and end up standing pat and taking Spencer Fano, as the offensive line quickly turned into a huge need.

7. Washington Commanders - Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State

Washington grabs some wide receiver help and takes Carnell Tate, giving Jayden Daniels another weapon.

8. New Orleans Saints - Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State

The New Orleans Saints also get in on some wide receiver fun, as Tyler Shough appears to have the goods and does need another reliable weapon in the passing game.

9. Kansas City Chiefs - Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame

The Kansas City Chiefs pass up some top defensive line prospects and snag Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame. This would be a clear indication that the team wants to build around Patrick Mahomes as much as humanly possible, and it's not a bad idea.

10. Tennessee Titans (via CIN) - Rueben Bain Jr, EDGE, Miami (FL)

Trading down and taking Rueben Bain Jr is not a bad scenario for the Tennessee Titans. Bain being a bit undersized is a slight concern, but he is a first-round caliber prospect, so there is a level of 'don't overthink this' at play here.

11. Miami Dolphins - Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU

After a flurry of major roster cuts, the Miami Dolphins are clearly rebuilding and could go in a ton of different directions here. Mansoor Delane might end up being the best player available on the board, and new Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley dealt with below-average cornerback play while he was with the Green Bay Packers, so he surely wants that unit to be solid in Miami.

12. Arizona Cardinals (via DAL) - Francis Mauigoa, OT, Miami (FL)

The Cardinals move down to pick 12, will have another pick here, and start things off with Francis Mauigoa, who could kick inside to guard in the NFL but plays with a nasty edge that is sure to guarantee a successful pro career.

13. New York Giants (via LAR) - Makai Lemon, WR, USC

Makai Lemon and Malik Nabers in the same wide receiver room could be straight-up unfair for opposing defenses. With Nabers on the mend from a torn ACL, this could give Lemon and Jaxson Dart time to develop a connection.

14. Baltimore Ravens - Keldrick Faulk, EDGE, Auburn

Baltimore just needs another pass-rusher, period, and with Jesse Minter in as the head coach, there could be a defensive emphasis on the 2026 NFL Draft for the Ravens.

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Peter Woods, DT, Clemson

Peter Woods could honestly go higher than this, so General Manager Jason Licht should not hesitate to take a swing here to get more stout in the middle of the defense.

16. New York Jets - Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee

The Jets have to get some more talented players in the secondary, especially with Sauce Gardner on the Indianapolis Colts. New York has two picks in the first 16 selections and use both on the defensive side of the ball in our latest mock.

17. Detroit Lions - Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah

Caleb Lomu could end up being a huge get for the Detroit Lions, as there seems to be a chance that Taylor Decker retires this offseason, so the Lions could end up having an urgent need at tackle in perhaps even a few weeks.

18. Minnesota Vikings - Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson

The Minnesota Vikings have a need at cornerback and will surely already have brought in some quarterback help at this point. All this team really needs is stable quarterback play to get back into the playoffs in 2026.

19. Carolina Panthers - Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon

Kenyon Sadiq could be a wonderful addition for the Carolina Panthers offense, as this would only make life easier for Bryce Young, but Young has still largely been a bad quarterback in this league and still needs to raise his game up another notch.

20. Arizona Cardinals (via DAL) - Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama

The Cards could turn pick three into two first-round picks and land a developmental quarterback prospect at pick 20. I would be shocked if the front office wouldn't take that potential scenario here. Ty Simpson might not be under any pressure to start if the Cardinals do have a veteran passer in the room.

21. Pittsburgh Steelers - Kayden McDonald, DT, Ohio State

Kayden McDonald helps the Pittsburgh Steelers get younger along the defensive line. The Steelers d-line has been an identity of this team for years now, but some of the key players like TJ Watt and Cam Heyward are getting up there in age, so a new beginning needs to happen at some point.

22. Los Angeles Chargers - Kadyn Proctor, OT, Alabama

The Los Angeles Chargers are going to address the offensive line big-time in free agency but could also look to the 2026 NFL Draft for additional help as well. They grab Kadyn Proctor from Alabama. Proctor could have interior and tackle ability in the NFL.

23. Philadelphia Eagles - Ahkeem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami (FL)

Ahkeem Mesidor would be a fine first-round selection for the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that has undergone some change this offseason and is in need of another pass-rusher. Mesidor would be a great pick, but GM Howie Roseman does usually have something fun up his sleeve.

24. Cleveland Browns - Denzel Boston, WR, Washington

Denzel Boston is a big-bodied wide receiver and is not only the type of player the Browns need in the receiver room, but he also does fill a major need here for Todd Monken's offense.

25. Chicago Bears - CJ Allen, LB, Georgia

The Chicago Bears overhauled the interior of the offensive line last offseason and will likely do something similar to the defensive front. CJ Allen is an old-school linebacker with day one starting potential.

26. Buffalo Bills - KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M

K Concepcion is an elite player with the ball in his hands and would be a welcome weapon for Josh Allen and a Buffalo Bills wide receiver room that might be a bottom-3 unit in the entire NFL.

27. San Francisco 49ers - Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia

Monroe Freeling is another collegiate tackle who might have to kick inside to guard, but if you ask me, a 'good' tackle is worth more in the NFL than a Pro Bowl guard, so that could be how the San Francisco 49ers approach this.

28. Houston Texans - Caleb Banks, DT, Florida

Caleb Banks actually does fill a bit of a need for the Houston Texans, as the interior defensive line could use a youthful boost, and keeping the defense at the top of the NFL is a wise idea - it's never a bad idea to build on a strength.

29. New York Giants (via LAR) - Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee

The Giants have to get better in the secondary as well, so they snag Colton Hood from Tennessee with the 29th pick. Earlier on in this mock draft, the Giants moved down with the Rams and got the first-round picks back from LA in the deal.

30. Denver Broncos - Chris Bell, WR, Louisville

Chris Bell tore his ACL last year but does profile as a future WR1 in the NFL and would be a great long-term pick for the Denver Broncos, a team that desperately needs help at the position.

31. New England Patriots - Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M

The New England Patriots actually have a few notable needs this offseason and definitely punched up a weight class in 2025. They'll come back down to earth a bit in 2026 but could still be a formidable team with the right offseason additions.

32. Seattle Seahawks - Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina

Wth Riq Woolen and Josh Jobe both set to hit the free agency market, the Seattle Seahawks will soon have a genuine need at the position.
