We have yet to even see the 2026 NFL Draft class hit the field, but get used to hearing about the 2027 NFL Draft class. The NFL knows this is a special group of incoming prospects, and teams are planning accordingly.
The 2027 NFL Draft has the type of star power at the premium positions (QB, WR, EDGE, CB) that NFL teams absolutely covet. There are going to be franchise cornerstone types of prospects and blue-chip players littered all throughout the first round, but this is shaping up to be a rather special top 10 overall.
And that's exactly what we're going to look at in this brand-new 2027 NFL mock draft scenario as the NFL schedule release looms: The top 10 picks overall. We're basing the order on a recent set of NFL Power Rankings to throw some variety into where teams are slotted.
2027 NFL mock draft: Arch Manning still #1 in new top-10 predictions
1. Miami Dolphins: Arch Manning, QB, Texas
The Miami Dolphins are one of the most obvious rebuilding teams in the NFL this season, and if they end up with the #1 overall pick, it's likely going to mean that the Malik Willis signing didn't work out.
The Dolphins got the rebuilding process underway this offseason with a handful of massive moves, including cutting Tua Tagovailoa, trading Jaylen Waddle, cutting Tyreek Hill, and plenty more major decisions. The new regime is putting their stamp on the roster, and getting the #1 pick in next year's draft would certainly mean a new quarterback.
Right now, the favorite to be the top quarterback selected in a loaded class is Arch Manning. More than just having the Manning name, Arch is a true dual-threat at the position and has elite physical tools. He's a no-brainer at this point.
2. New York Jets: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
The New York Jets have shown outstanding patience with the quarterback position under Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn. Even with three first-round picks and a massive 2026 NFL Draft class, the Jets didn't use any pick on a quarterback until they took Clemson's Cade Klubnik in the 4th round, a pretty outstanding value.
Still, if the Jets end up picking this high in 2027, the priority is going to be the best quarterback available. And after taking his teammate Kenyon Sadiq in 2026, they get Oregon's Dante Moore as a "consolation" for missing out on Arch Manning.
And honestly, Moore might be the more highly regarded prospect by NFL teams considering his sample size at this point.
3. Cleveland Browns: Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State
The Cleveland Browns find themselves in a tough position here, but not a hopeless one as we're going to see for other QB-needy teams. The quarterback class coming in 2027 is phenomenal, and there are a variety of 1st-round players and potential #1 pick candidates.
One of those players is Oklahoma State's Drew Mestemaker, a transfer from North Texas who led the NCAA with 4,379 passing yards. The only quarterback in college football with more passing TDs than Mestemaker last year was Fernando Mendoza.
And funny enough, Mestemaker could follow somewhat of a similar path as Mendoza. You can see the pro traits from what he did at North Texas, just like you can with Mendoza at Cal, but the transfer year could do wonders for his pro stock. The Browns make him their new QB1 in this scenario.
4. Arizona Cardinals: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
There are a lot of potential 1st-round quarterbacks in 2027, but how many of them will be the types of players you pass on Jeremiah Smith for?
That's a fair question, and a dilemma that would be difficult for a team like the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals typically find themselves in the 1st or 2nd slot of these mock draft scenarios, but they don't have a quarterback, so could they truly justify taking a receiver here? Jeremiah Smith is arguably the best overall player in this class.
He's the type of prospect that you take and then hope to figure out the QB position with another selection. And for a team like the Cardinals, it could mean a scenario where you trade into the first round later to take someone, or acquire a veteran before the draft.
5. Las Vegas Raiders: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame
The Raiders have their franchise QB of the future already with Fernando Mendoza, but they don't have a finished roster, by any means. At this point, it's safe to say the Raiders have invested a good amount in the offensive side of the ball.
They got Fernando Mendoza with the #1 overall pick this year. They took Ashton Jeanty at #6 overall last year. They landed Brock Bowers at #13 overall in 2024. The offense still needs some help at wide receiver, which they could take here, but getting Leonard Moore over the WR2 on their board is a no-brainer.
The Raiders need to invest some premium NFL Draft capital on defense again, and getting Leonard Moore would give them a true CB1 and shutdown type of player on the outside.
6. Tennessee Titans: Dylan Stewart, EDGE, South Carolina
For almost the entire 2026 offseason, we went through one NFL mock draft scenario after another that involved the Tennessee Titans taking a pass rusher with their top pick. Then they took Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate, shocking pretty much everyone.
So it would seem that the EDGE position is back on the menu for next year. Even after moving into the back end of the 1st round for Keldric Faulk, who is more of a hybrid DE/EDGE type of player, the Titans land South Carolina star Dylan Stewart, one of the most disruptive players in all of college football.
Stewart has elite athletic and physical traits, and is only scratching the surface of what types of numbers he can rack up. He's got 22.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks in his first two seasons, along with a whopping six fumbles forced.
7. Atlanta Falcons: Jordan Seaton, OT, LSU
The Atlanta Falcons had to deal with the surprise retirement of offensive tackle Kaleb McGary this offseason, signing veteran Jawaan Taylor in his place. But the fact that the Chiefs let Jawaan Taylor go despite their own offensive line issues says all you need to know about the longevity of that solution.
Former first-round pick Jake Matthews is also set to see his cap hit increase to over $26 million next offseason, and will be 35 years old at the start of the 2027 campaign. The time for the Falcons to start thinking about the future of the offensive tackle position is now, and Jordan Seaton has all of the tools to be a blue-chip player at the position.
The former Colorado transfer will have a chance at LSU to show why he belongs in that top pick conversation.
8. New Orleans Saints: Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas
Listed at 6-foot-3, 244 pounds, Colin Simmons might be considered undersized as we get into the nitty gritty discussions about prospects in a little less than a year, but he's got elite production that is impossible to ignore.
Over his first two years with the Longhorns, Simmons has racked up 21 sacks, 29.5 tackles for loss, 6 forced fumbles, and four batted passes. He's been an absolute monster off the edge and has that elite, uncanny ability to finish plays in the backfield that NFL teams covet.
The Saints were another team that passed on pass rushers atop this year's class for a playmaker. If they get another high pick like this, Simmons would be a no-brainer.
9. Minnesota Vikings: Julian Sayin, QB, Ohio State
It's anyone's guess as to which quarterback prospect will be the most coveted behind Arch Manning and Dante Moore. There are a lot of names being thrown around right now, including Ohio State's Julian Sayin.
Sayin is slightly undersized compared to other top-tier prospects, but he plays the game at a high level in terms of his feel for avoiding pressure in the pocket, accuracy with the football at all levels of the field, and the ability to quickly process what defenses throw at him.
The Vikings would be throwing in the towel on JJ McCarthy in this scenario, as well as Kyler Murray, but if they ended up with the 9th overall pick, the QB position and how that unfolded over the season would have definitely had something to do with it.
10. New York Giants: David Stone, DL, Oklahoma
This would be ironic. The New York Giants traded Dexter Lawrence to get the 10th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft (where they selected Francis Mauigoa), and here they take a defensive tackle with the 10th overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
David Stone had a breakout year at Oklahoma this past season with 8 tackles for loss and 42 total tackles.
At 6-foot-3, 315 pounds, and a guy who spends a lot of time playing right over the top of the center, that's outstanding production. The pass rush upside is obviously there, considering Stone made 8 tackles for loss last season. He just has elite-level quickness off the ball, he plays with good leverage, and his combination of strength and hustle are impossible to ignore.
