You just never know if there could be some major trades that go down before the 2025 NFL Draft. Here are three of them that we need to see. It does seem like teams across the league will not hesitate to swing for the fences and make a major trade.
There have been a plethora of major trades across the NFL over the last few years, and I do not anticipate that those will slow down. Right now, there could a few players on different teams who are simply not happy and may be open to a fresh start.
And it could be urgent enough to actually get a trade done before the start of the 2025 NFL Draft. Let's look at three blockbuster trades we need to see before the NFL Draft in a couple of weeks.
3 blockbuster trades we need to see before the 2025 NFL Draft
Garrett Wilson to the Denver Broncos
Former Denver Broncos executive Darren Mougey is now the GM with the New York Jets, replacing Joe Douglas. One of the better draft picks that Douglas made was selecting Garrett Wilson back in the 2022 NFL Draft. Wilson has played three years in the NFL and has put up 1,000 yards in each year of his career.
He's done with this pretty awful QB play as well. The stud WR is due for a contract extension this coming offseason, but with a new regime in town, you just never know if the two sides end up not being in the same place. Well, the Broncos have a huge need for a "Z" wide receiver to pair with Courtland Sutton and perhaps Marvin Mims Jr.
The fit within Denver's offense makes a load of sense, and Denver does have the necessary cap space to extend Wilson. A trade package might include multiple high draft picks, as Garrett Wilson is truly great at what he does.
Micah Parsons to the Buffalo Bills
How about Micah Parsons to the Buffalo Bills? The Dallas Cowboys are truly among the worst-run teams in the NFL, as it seems like Jerry Jones thinks he's playing Madden at times. It's just not an ideal situation for the franchise, and one of their best players, Micah Parsons, still does not have a long-term contract extension.
Dallas messed around with the contracts for CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott and ended up paying more for them than they actually needed to had they got the deal done earlier. There is no reason to believe that Parsons would be any different, as he's already been in the league for four seasons and has cemented himself as one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.
The Cowboys (although they probably won't) should consider trading Parsons away for a haul of picks to an AFC team. The Buffalo Bills have remade their DL a bit in free agency this past offseason and could be in the market for one last move. Buffalo also has a ton of picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, so they do have enough capital to pull it off.
It would give the Bills yet another edge on paper over the Kansas City Chiefs, and at this point, the Bills really don't have many options - they have continually fallen short in the playoffs and need to load up the roster as much as possible.
Micah Parsons on this defense would simply be unfair, but Buffalo would still need some secondary help. Parsons is also right in the prime of his career, so this is not some veteran, one-year rental type of move. This would be a move to cement the Bills atop the AFC East for years to come and also give them another massive advantage in the AFC.
Trey Hendrickson to the Los Angeles Rams
Another pass rusher who does not seem super happy with his current situation is Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals, who led the NFL in sacks in 2024 and is simply an elite player at the position. Across his Bengals career, which has spanned four seasons now, he's made four Pro Bowls and has racked up 57 sacks, 53 tackles for loss, and 112 QB hits.
Across a 17-game season, Trey Hendrickson averages 11.9 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and 24 QB hits. He was also an All-Pro this year and was second in the Defensive Player of the Year voting behind Patrick Surtain II. Being that the Bengals are a cheap franchise and are poorly-run at the top, there is a distinct possibility that Hendrickson simply does not see an offer that he likes enough to sign.
And at that point, Cincy would need to cut their losses and see who'd want to trade for him. If nothing else, it would net them a haul of draft picks and would also allow them to rebuild their defense more through the 2025 NFL Draft. Even with Trey Hendrickson in the mix, the Bengals do need some desperate defensive help.
The Los Angeles Rams are a team that could be a fun destination for Hendrickson. GM Les Snead has not hesitated to make major trades before, as he once swung a trade for Von Miller. He's also traded for players like Jalen Ramsey and Brandin Cooks when he was in his prime. Snead is an aggressive GM and could see an opportunity here to take the defense to the next level for 2025 and the few seasons after that.
The Bengals would also be able to trade their star pass rusher out of the conference, and if there could be any 'win' from trading Hendrickson, that could be one right there.
