The Chicago Bears have pulled off two major OL trades in recent days. and their aggression could still kick up a notch in the 2025 NFL Draft. Over the last few days, the Chicago Bears have been able to agree on trades for former Los Angeles Rams guard Jonah Jackson and former Kansas City Chiefs guard Joe Thuney.
And all of a sudden, the Bears could field one of the more secure offensive lines in the NFL. The team could still improve at the center position, and that is something they could absolutely address in free agency, but what we have seen from Chicago in the recent days is them making a notable effort to protect Caleb Williams.
The trades have also given them a ton of flexibility in the 2025 NFL Draft to come away with a major haul like this...
Bears 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Team gets more aggressive after major OL trades
10. Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
With Ashton Jeanty sitting there with the 10th overall pick, the Chicago Bears make the move, and it's a good one, as Jeanty is unquestionably the best RB in a very loaded 2025 NFL Draft class. He could be the center piece for Ben Johnson's offense, which did feature two running backs with heavier usage.
Jeanty heads to what is now all of a sudden a great situation for the Bears. Caleb Williams gets a stud RB to hand the ball do 17 times a game.
39. Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College
Donovan Ezeiruaku falling to the 39th overall pick is a bit of a steal, but I am not complaining. The Bears do need to find some more pass rush help, and Ezeiruaku is that type of player. While we have been mezmorized with the offensive moves the team has made, it's important to note that the defense still has needs of their own.
41. Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
Kenneth Grant could absolutely hear his name called in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but we are able to grab him for the Chicago Bears here with the 41st overall selection. And in this mock draft, that is now two big-time selections along the trenches on defense.
The Bears may not be all that far away from contending for the NFC North. If this team can grab one more starting OL, get another weapon on offense, and see Caleb Williams take a leap in 2025, the Bears are at least going to secure a Wild Card seed in the playoffs next season.
We like to laugh at the Bears, but this new era seems to be off to a rocking start.
72. TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
Sometimes you just have to wonder if it's too much at this point? Heck, I absolutely do not think so. I would be flat-out shocked if Ben Johnson did not have Henderson on his radar as a potential target in the 2025 NFL Draft. He profiles similarly to guys like Aaron Jones and Jahmyr Gibbs, and the latter enjoyed two insane seasons with Johnson when the two of them were in Detroit.
Getting TreVeyon Henderson at pick 72 does feel like some insane value, and this would obviously spell the end for D'Andre Swift, who probably isn't a good match for the Bears going forward. The team has made a huge investment on the offensive side of the ball and have made life that much easier for Caleb Williams.
All of a sudden, playmakers Williams now has at his disposal include DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Cole Kmet, Ashton Jeanty, and now TreVeyon Henderson. Honestly, it would be a huge disappointment if Williams didn't have a major season in 2025.
149. Jake Briningstool, TE, Clemson
A very deep tight end class here in the 2025 NFL Draft, Jake Briningstool is 6'6" and caught 49 passes for 530 yards and seven touchdowns for Clemson in 2024. With Cole Kmet clearly established as the TE1 of the offense, Ben Johnson gets a backup tight end and someone who could turn out to be a high-end TE2 at the NFL level.
This could be a fun and sneaky addition for the Chicago Bears in 2025 and beyond. They aren't messing around in getting Williams more weapons here in this mock draft.
235. Maxen Hook, S, Toledo
Maxen Hook had 107 total tackles and two interceptions for Toledo in the 2024 college football season, so this is someone who is able to go out and find the ball. He has also got 52 games of collegiate experience, so that could absolutely benefit him heading into the NFL.
Probably nothing more than a backup safety at best, Hook could give them some adequate depth on the backend for Dennis Allen, their defensive coordinator. Allen has been a stellar DC for years in the NFL, so the Bears are going to be in great hands with that addition.
242. Trevor Etienne, RB, Georgia
The brother of Travis Etienne, Trevor is a dual-threat running back and is now the third RB taken by the Chicago Bears in the 2025 NFL Draft. It's clear that the Ben Johnson era is going to prioritize a strong run game, and it would benefit Caleb Williams and the entire Bears team if Johnson was able to re-create the offense he had in Detroit with Chicago.
Some may think this is overkill, but I am pretty sure we all just watched the 2024 NFL Season where the resurgence of the running back position was evident. Chicago is stacking up on running backs in this NFL Mock Draft and will try to run all over the NFC North for years to come.
