Let's get a bit creative with our power rankings and rank how we think the top 10 will look at the end of 2025.
We're taking a different spin on our NFL power rankings. It's going to be hard, but we've tried to predict how we think the league hierarchy is going to shape up when the 2025 NFL Season comes to an end, and it's going to feature most of the team we would consider to be top-10 right now.
There is parity in this league, but the teams in a position to contend are likely going to do just that in the 2025 NFL Season. Let's get into our power rankings from the future.
NFL Power Rankings: Predicting the league hierarchy when the 2025 season ends
10. Green Bay Packers
I am not sure the Green Bay Packers did enough in the 2025 NFL Offseason to truly take that next step into contention. The roster really does not seem much better than it was when the offseason began, and it seems like we are putting a lot of hype on the team finally using a first-round pick on a wide receiver.
There aren't many elite players on this team to take this roster over the top, and will we ever see Jordan Love ascend into that elite status? I have said this for a while, but this might be the most 'good' team in the entire NFL.
Green Bay is 10th in our power rankings from the future.
9. Houston Texans
The overhauled offensive line is going to be the main focus of the Houston Texans in the 2025 NFL Season, as that was the primary season why this team didn't get any better from their breakout campaign in 2023. CJ Stroud is also entering a crucial third year in the NFL, so there is really a lot at stake for this franchise.
I am thinking Houston is able to win at least one more game than the prior season and could win 11 games in 2025, which would absolutely be enough to capture the AFC South title for the third year in a row. Houston is ninth in our power rankings from the future.
8. Los Angeles Rams
A legitimate Super Bowl contender, I honestly felt like I needed to rank the Los Angeles Rams a lot higher than this, but eighth might be a safe bet for now. The team signed Davante Adams in free agency and might be making a bold move in the secondary quite soon. Overall, in their post-Super Bowl seasons, this could be the best team they've had.
GM Les Snead has done a great job at rebuilding this roster with young talent and trying to maximize the remaining years of the Matthew Stafford era. LA is eighth in our NFL power rankings from the future.
7. Kansas City Chiefs
I am definitely a bit lower on the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2025 NFL Season than most. The roster might now be the third-best in the AFC West, and they have questions all over the place, specifically at offensive line, tight end, running back, wide receiver, and maybe even in the secondary.
But Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are still on the sideline, so that in an of itself might be good for KC to win double-digit games for the 100th-straight year.
6. Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are going to endure a bit of a Super Bowl hangover in the 2025 NFL Season, and the departures of Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, and Mekhi Becton can't be ignored. The team also traded CJ Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans.
Jalen Hurts also has yet another new offensive coordinator and is an average QB at best, so a slight regression on both sides of the ball feels likely for Philly, but they can still win a playoff game.
5. Denver Broncos
Are the Denver Broncos could to compete with the big boys in the 2025 NFL Season? The answer is probably a resounding yes, as the defense might just be the best in the NFL on paper, and the offense did add a good bit of talent in the 2025 offseason.
The untapped potential of Bo Nix also has to be at play here. All in all, if Denver hits its stride, this team could make a deep playoff run, but it does feel like they are still another year away from legitimately competing for a Super Bowl. They are fifth in our NFL power rankings from the future.
4. Washington Commanders
Winning 14 total games in the 2024 NFL Season and only getting better, the Washington Commanders are going to progress a bit in 2025 and become one of the truly elite teams in the NFL, perhaps again making it to the conference championship game. Jayden Daniels may also get some MVP votes, as he was excellent in 2024 and might only get better.
However, it can be argued that the Commanders are also in a position to regress given how much magic happened in 2024. I am believing the opposite. They are fourth in our power rankings.
3. Baltimore Ravens
With the addition of Jaire Alexander, do the Baltimore Ravens now have the best secondary in the NFL, and is this now the best roster in the Lamar Jackson era? It's hard to find a flaw, but it's also hard to ignore just how many years this team has disappointed in the postseason.
They have not won multiple games in the playoffs since the 2012 NFL Season and had another heartbreaking loss in 2024 against the Buffalo Bills. This roster is once again loaded, so it's another year where there can't be any excuses.
Baltimore is third in our power rankings.
2. Detroit Lions
The best roster in the NFL heading into 2025, the Detroit Lions will come in second in our NFL power rankings from the future. The primary season why some could be lower on Detroit for 2025 is the loss of both Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn to head coaching jobs.
Having new coordinators on both sides of the ball is going to be a tough adjustment, but I keep coming back to the roster talent as my reason for ranking them this high. If not for all of the injuries they were dealing with last year, this team could have absolutely won the NFC.
Now yes, I do see the arguments from people who think Detroit regresses - I am not dismissing that, but I'm not in that boat.
1. Buffalo Bills
What is the excuse for the Buffalo Bills in the 2025 NFL Season? They now have the MVP of the NFL in Josh Allen, a rebuilt defensive line, and much of the top-end talent they had in the previous season. Buffalo again lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs last year, so you have to wonder if they'll just never be able to get past KC.
It's hard to see what Buffalo is missing - they've got the best roster in the AFC and a great shot to earn the top seed in the conference and make a Super Bowl run. Buffalo is first in our power rankings.
