The old adage goes something like, “If you look good, you play good.” Although style is very subjective, I can’t recall an NFL team winning the Super Bowl that didn’t simultaneously have a clean-looking or iconic uniform.

The NFL has a great aesthetic overall, and the league’s decisions in recent years to lift some of the unnecessary restrictions over what teams wear on a week-to-week basis have given us – the true uniform fans – reasons to be excited on a week-to-week basis.

But not every NFL team has gotten it right. Some teams have room for improvement. There is no exact formula for an ideal aesthetic for the whole league, but we’ve got you covered if you’re looking for a list ranking every uniform in the league, worst to best.

These uniforms will be judged in their entirety. The design of the uniform matters, the primary uniforms matter, and the throwbacks/alternates matter. Some teams might seem low on this list, but keep in mind that there are truly only a few uniforms in the NFL today that are legitimately bad. The league has done a good job of mixing modern uniforms with classics and what’s becoming known as modern classics.

NFL Power Rankings: Every uniform ranked worst to best in 2025

32. Arizona Cardinals

There is very little question that the Arizona Cardinals currently have the worst uniforms in the NFL, which is a shame because that shouldn’t be the case. We’ll see how the new Cardinals alternate can up their overall aesthetic, if only briefly throughout the course of the season, but their all-red home uniforms with the giant text on the front just do not work well. The Cardinals could upgrade their look by going with white pants for their home look and adding more yellow hits throughout their collection of looks.

31. Atlanta Falcons

The “ATL” on the front of the Falcons’ uniforms is just a horrendous look overall, and the Falcons were a strong contender for last place on this list. And part of the Falcons being so low in these rankings is due to the fact that they have some of the best throwback uniforms in the history of the league. Whether you want to talk about the Falcons’ 90s throwback or even their 2000s look, almost every iteration of this franchise’s uniforms throughout their history is better than what they wear now.

30. Tennessee Titans

When the Titans wear the Houston Oilers throwbacks, it’s a much-needed breath of fresh air from what is arguably the worst uniform combination in the NFL. The Titans are mercifully at least going back to the light blue tops as their home primaries in 2025, but this is a team that has simply downgraded in recent years, significantly. The Titans' rebrand 25 years ago was a major uniform breakthrough at the time, a look that was consistently copied by other football teams at different levels.

The best looks currently for this team are the white tops with light blue pants and the light blue tops with white pants, though their color scheme saves an otherwise ugly look.

29. Washington Commanders

The Washington Football Team had a better overall look than the Washington Commanders, who used to have one of the best uniforms in the game. In fact, the old Washington uniforms are iconic, not because of the former logo but the overall design of the uniforms was truly elite in every possible way. The modern Commanders uniforms are hideous and mostly irredeemalble. The Washington Football Team at least still had the yellow facemasks and clean striping. This team needs a uniform overhaul more than most NFL teams.

28. New York Jets

The New York Jets made the right call to go with a modern retro of their uniforms, but the execution just doesn’t feel exactly right. The white collar on the neckline is far too thick and the alternate black uniforms leave something to be desired as well. The decision to go back to the 80s style logo was a good one for the Jets, but it just feels like these modern retros are missing the mark. If they would add some hits of black on the primary uniforms, the overall look might take a huge leap.

27. Cleveland Browns

I’ll throw out a relatively hot take and state that I actually like the Cleveland Browns’ uniforms a decent amount. They have gone back to the clean, simple look instead of trying to wear a more modern-looking uniform design, and that’s for the best. The colors should do most of the talking with this team and the combination of orange, brown, and white is perfect. This team doesn’t have a single bad look in its uniform lineup, but nothing stands out as truly an “elite” week-to-week NFL look.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are being carried tremendously in this ranking with the comeback of one of the great uniforms the NFL has ever known. The Jaguars’ throwback uniforms are perfection, from the side sleeve logo to the double outline on the numbers and text, as well as the overall pops of color. The black and teal should never be without the gold in Jacksonville’s uniform, which is why their modern jerseys are terrible. Slapping the Jaguar head on the chest doesn’t help.

25. Seattle Seahawks

I don’t think the Seahawks’ current uniforms get enough love. The Seahawks got one of the boldest re-designs from Nike back when they took over in 2012, and it was one of the rare instances where it feels like Nike created an instant classic. Seattle’s throwback uniforms are still some of the best in league history, but if their current uniforms would go away, I think fans would come to realize they didn’t know just how good they had it. The only combinations that fall flat are the more monochromatic where the Seahawks do all navy or all neon green.

24. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have a timeless, clean, classic, iconic, borderline boring look that doesn’t need to be messed with. Their black helmet alternates are horrendous and they should never wear them, but I get the need to be different and shake things up every once in a while. I appreciate the effort.

The Colts don’t need to change anything at all. They have great uniforms but there’s some understandable fatigue. The gray facemasks are great but an occasional homage to the Peyton Manning era with a blue facemask wouldn’t be the worst idea.

23. Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are one of those teams with uniforms that truly have people split. Some folks think the Vikings have executed their uniforms extremely well while others, like myself, feel like they leave a lot to be desired. The Vikings have great throwbacks and their uniforms currently are missing that mix of purple and gold. It’s far too much purple and white, which includes the Vikings’ all-white uniform alternate. They have incorporated an awesome white helmet into the mix, but this team’s under-use of gold in its uniform scheme is its downfall here.

22. New York Giants

Just like the Minnesota Vikings don’t have enough gold in their uniforms, the New York Giants don’t have enough pops of red. The greatest uniforms this team has ever worn are from the 80s and 90s and the pops of red are a big reason why those throwbacks are beloved. And of course, that is speaking on the home primaries. The away uniforms for the Giants don’t incorporate enough blue. There’s just so much potential here and the Giants are currently missing it.

21. Miami Dolphins

We’re getting into the portion of this uniform rankings list where a team’s ranking might indicate a poor uniform, but the majority of NFL teams either have an elite throwback or a really good primary uniform at the very least. The Miami Dolphins have an elite color scheme, elite throwbacks, and just an “okay” primary uniform. There are some primary uniforms that don’t get appreciated because of the team’s throwbacks, like the Seahawks, but the Dolphins aren’t in that category. Their aesthetic is best when they have the aqua tops and white pants, or white tops and aqua pants. And to see this team throw a 2000s throwback into the mix would thrill me.

20. New England Patriots

The Patriots have the perfect early 2000s NFL aesthetic, which is fitting because they dominated that era of football. The Pats mix the dull navy home uniforms with pops of red, white, and silver pretty perfectly. The only uniform combination this team should stay away from is navy on top of navy. Otherwise, they really can’t miss. White on top of navy, white on gray, blue on gray, and the red throwbacks are all top-tier uniform combinations with nothing to really complain about. A late-90s throwback in the mix would give the Patriots a truly elite setup.

19. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are another NFL team with iconic primary uniforms at this point as well as truly great throwbacks. The Steelers throwbacks were so great at the time that the Iowa Hawkeyes literally copied them and made them their primary uniforms. Well, it might have been the way they played in the uniforms, but still. The Steelers know they don’t need to change anything or mess with anything, and they don’t. They are an iconic NFL franchise with a look that needs no modifications or throwback additions.

18. Chicago Bears

Similar to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Chicago Bears are a team whose uniforms will likely never really change. The Bears have an iconic logo lineup and they have rarely gone far from the beaten path when it comes to their uniforms or even font on the jerseys. The look of the Chicago Bears is a timeless one and they have truly great combinations. The one area where they miss the mark is with the orange helmets, a cautionary tale of “just because you can doesn’t mean you should.”

17. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have great uniforms. They have shuffled through a number of different looks through the years, but have settled on a simple design that really allows the color scheme of the team to shine with one of the best helmets and logos in the NFL. I may be one of the few people who would love to see this, but Buffalo throwing in a 2000s throwback uniform a couple of times per year would be a great changeup for this team. They have a fantastic uniform rotation now, but it’s a little boring compared to other teams who don’t rotate many uniforms.

16. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos would have been about 10 spots lower on this list as of two years ago, but Nike’s redesign of Denver’s primary uniforms, as well as the inclusion of the 1977 throwbacks, has this team looking incredible week after week. The Broncos have one of the best modern logos in the NFL as well as one of the best classic logos in sports history. Their uniform combinations in the “Mile High Collection” were outstanding in year one and should only get better as the NFL eliminates restrictions on how often helmets can be worn. The only thing they are missing now is a white version of the throwback.

15. Carolina Panthers

Every iteration of the Carolina Panthers uniform is a resounding hit. The electric blue, black, and silver combinations are incredible and no matter what these guys show up in on a Sunday, they are going to look good. Their best looks are the classic black tops on gray pants as well as the white tops on gray pants. But Carolina’s blue tops with white pants is a fantastic look and their uniforms are classic. The triple stripe and sleeve logo set these ones apart, and their alternate black helmet is a hit as well.

14. Houston Texans

Among uniforms Nike has re-designed, I’m not sure they’ve done a better job than they did with the Houston Texans. The Texans had such a fun look when they initially became a franchise back in 2002, and that look was great while it lasted. But they were due for a refresh in the worst way, and they are now one of the best-looking teams on a week-to-week basis. The attention to detail on the new uniforms is notable. The bull-horn side stripe along with side logo alternates is outstanding, and the H-Town alternates are elite as well. There’s nothing not to like about this rebrand.

13. New Orleans Saints

Other than getting the golds to match on their alternate uniforms, I’m not sure there’s anything the Saints need to do to improve their overall uniform week-to-week. They’ve got an iconic look and not many combinations with tops and pants that look bad at all. If I had even one gripe about the Saints’ uniforms, it would be that they need to bring the gray facemasks into the mix with the throwback uniforms. This team has an amazing aesthetic.

12. Kansas City Chiefs

There are few teams in the NFL who need as few combinations as the Kansas City Chiefs to look elite on a week-to-week basis. The one time the Chiefs miss is when they go all red with their uniforms, but there are probably plenty out there who would disagree with me on that. They didn’t wear that combination last season, anyway, so maybe the Chiefs are even coming around to that. It would be interesting to see what this team could do with a black or yellow alternate, but they don’t need to mess with relative perfection.

11. Las Vegas Raiders

There is a reason why the Raiders only wear three different uniforms over the course of the season, and have since the 60s. The Raiders uniform and logo combination is iconic. It’s timeless and clean. It’s stood the test of time. Again, don’t be confused by the overall ranking here. Every uniform from this point forward has something that makes it elite. When you think about the Raiders uniforms, what would you honestly improve? They have a classic look for their home and away, and the throwbacks with the silver numbers are incredible.

10. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions have a lot going for them with their uniforms. They have an elite logo, an elite color scheme, and a truly elite execution of that color scheme on almost every week. The Lions’ alternate black uniform is not as good now as it was back in the 2000s, but it’s a small gripe with their modern classic look overall. The decision to go with a modern classic uniform was the right one for this franchise, but the underrated move was going back to the Honolulu Blue facemask. Truly outstanding.

9. Philadelphia Eagles

The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles have a couple of great things going with their overall aesthetic. They made the transition to the darker midnight green primary color scheme in the late 90s/early 2000s, and it’s stuck around. The Eagles got one of the best uniform re-designs back in 1996, and it’s stuck around for good reason. And with the incorporation of the Kelly Green throwbacks, this team really can’t miss on a week-to-week basis. The one look we haven’t seen from this team since 2013 that needs to come back is the black top on the white pants.

8. Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are another NFL team whose uniforms people either love or hate. There’s really no indifference. And to me, this is the one uniform that Nike has absolutely crushed out of the park in every possible way. Dare I say, the Rams are one of the most fashion-forward teams in the entire NFL. In my opinion, they are the only team for which the gradient style of jersey numbers has worked, and it works extremely well. They do not have a single bad uniform in their setup, including my personal favorite which is the “bone” colored tops with the blue pants.

The Rams have an elite color scheme and outstanding throwbacks when they want to wear them, from pretty much any era. I may be one of the few who would not mind seeing a callback to the Greatest Show on Turf every so often.

7. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have elite uniforms both home and away. Their white helmet look is fantastic. The only issue I’ve ever taken with the Packers’ uniform combinations is when they wear throwbacks, because their throwbacks are horrible. And if I can fit one more gripe in here, I wish the Packers would wear the green tops with the yellow numbers and maybe yellow or white pants instead of green pants. Even gray pants would be better. But the Packers uniform is as good as it gets while still being as simple as it gets.

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It’s crazy to think about how the Buccaneers got bored of how good they looked and switched to those alarm clock atrocities for an era of time. They have one of the best uniforms in the league and they do it with a bigger color palette than any other team. The Bucs are a rare team that can be wearing red, black, orange, white, or their signature pewter on a given week and be the better dressed team compared to most others. If they can incorporate the pewter tops with white pants in addition to the orange creamsicle alternates, they’re going to rise on this list.

5. San Francisco 49ers

There’s nothing wrong with the 49ers uniforms in my estimation, but if the team brought back the black accents throughout the uniforms they wear as their primaries, they’d be number one on this list. The Niners wear a modern classic and they don’t have any bad weekly combinations. Their throwback is excellent, and although it’s been quite some time since they’ve worn them (2017) I also quite like their black alternates. This is a team that’s got a really good thing going for it.

4. Baltimore Ravens

The purple alternates the Ravens debuted last year could be improved, but I love the gold numbers on the purple tops. If those could be worn with white pants or even gold pants, the Ravens would be cooking with grease. This is a team whose weekly uniform combination is one I always look forward to seeing. They look their best in purple on white, black on white, and white on purple. But the reality is, they look incredible week after week no matter what they wear.

3. Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have the distinct advantage of tiger stripes in their uniforms and they use them extremely well. Their helmet design is one of the greatest signature pieces of any uniform across all of sports. The stripes on the sleeves and pants are perfectly executed features. The Bengals’ all-white uniform is one of the best alternates in the NFL. Simply put, this team has virtually no room for improvement except for the inclusion of a 90s throwback for both home and away.

2. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have an elite color scheme, a phenomenal logo, and they virtually can’t miss on a weekly basis when it comes to what tops they wear with what pants. It almost doesn’t matter. The crazy thing is, this team has even more room to grow. The Chargers wear a modern throwback from their uniforms worn in the 60s and 70s, but if they could incorporate the color rush royal blue uniforms, throw it back to the 90s and 2000s with a navy alternate (and block numbers), or even add a yellow top with white pants? This team has more combinations than anyone even realizes if the NFL would unchain the beast.

1. Dallas Cowboys

There is simply no better uniform in the NFL right now than the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have the perfect combination of a timeless look and an elite throwback. They are the New York Yankees or the Los Angeles Dodgers of the NFL. They simply have a look that should never be messed with, and it really hasn’t been in the entire Super Bowl era. When you have a look that lasts that long and stands the test of time, you have a uniform that deserves its place at the top of these 2025 NFL Uniform Power Rankings.
