There are many teams across the NFL that have new starting QBs for 2025. Let's power rank them here. Teams that do change their starting quarterback can be both good and bad, as if a team hits on a rookie QB like Jayden Daniels or Bo Nix, they are in great shape.

However, changing quarterbacks can also be a terrible thing for certain teams, and only time will tell if these NFL teams made the right decision. We power ranked every single NFL team set to start a new quarterback for the 2025 NFL Season.

Let's get into it right here as the regular season approaches.

Power ranking teams with new starting quarterbacks for the 2025 NFL Season

11. New Orleans Saints (Spencer Rattler)

It's hard to find anything working with the New Orleans Saints right now. This franchise is in a terrible spot and need a rebuild in the worst way. Second-year QB Spencer Rattler beat out rookie QB Tyler Shough for the starting job, but my guess is that Shough does get multiple starts in the 2025 NFL Season. The Saints are easily the worst team in football with what appears to be the worst QB room.

10. Tennessee Titans (Cam Ward)

Cam Ward was the first overall pick, and teams that pick first overall are doing it for a reason - it's because they aren't good. The Tennessee Titans are going to take some time to get going, and we're not even sure if the current coaching staff is the right one for this QB and franchise. Ward is going to show some flashes, as it's a part of his game, but there is also going to be a lot to dislike in his rookie season.

9. Cleveland Browns (Joe Flacco)

Joe Flacco is back with the Cleveland Browns and was named their starting QB, but both Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders are behind Flacco on the depth chart, and if the veteran QB struggles, both rookies could see multiple starts in the 2025 NFL Season. The Browns do have some talent on either side of the ball, but the upcoming season doesn't bring much promise at all.

8. New York Jets (Justin Fields)

Justin Fields is now on his third team in as many seasons, and that should tell you everything you need to know about the QB - he simply isn't good and is far from a franchise passer. It would not shock me if the New York Jets moved on from Fields after the 2025 NFL Season, as it's going to become very clear that Fields isn't going to be able to throw the ball at an NFL-caliber level, especially with this WR room outside of Garrett Wilson.

7. Indianapolis Colts (Daniel Jones)

Many people did not expect Daniel Jones to win the starting QB, as in these instances, the incumbent QB is typically the one that the team picks, but Jones beat out Anthony Richardson, but that isn't much of an accomplishment. The Indianapolis Colts do have a good roster, but the QB position is going to catch up with them in the 2025 NFL Season, which is a shame.

GM Chris Ballard has botched this QB room for years now, and it's going to bottom-out in the 2025 NFL Season. The Colts are seventh in our power rankings approaching the regular season.

6. New York Giants (Russell Wilson)

Russell Wilson's leash is going to be quite short in the 2025 NFL Season, as both Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart might already be better options, but Wilson did sign knowing he is going to start, so we'll see how this shakes out. The New York Giants don't really have much going for them in 2025, but the defensive line is a team strength and is going to keep them in games, but this is far from a playoff team, and they've got the hardest schedule in the NFL.

5. Atlanta Falcons (Michael Penix Jr)

We're now approaching some teams that do have reasons to believe in the 2025 NFL Season. The Atlanta Falcons have a strong supporting cast around Michael Penix Jr. Penix has to play well if the Falcons want to be a breakout team, and with weapons like Bijan Robinson and Drake London, Penix could be better than we think.

The Falcons did remake parts of their defense, so if that unit improves, we might have a surprise team on our hands for the 2025 NFL Season.

4. Las Vegas Raiders (Geno Smith)

The Las Vegas Raiders have a hollow roster and an average QB at best in Geno Smith. The veteran QB came over in a trade from the Seattle Seahawks early in the 2025 NFL Offseason, but this is only a temporary setup with Pete Carroll. Smith and Carroll are a nice floor-raising duo, but that's about it. They can max-out at about seven or eight wins in the 2025 NFL Season.

3. Seattle Seahawks (Sam Darnold)

Sam Darnold is going to regress in the 2025 NFL Season. He had a near-perfect setup in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings, and that type of supporting cast just is not there with the Seattle Seahawks in 2025. Darnold did have a sensational season, but it took him a large chunk of his career to figure it out.

And there is way more 'bad' football for Darnold in his NFL career than there is good football. Despite the regression likely coming from Darnold, the defense appears to be one of the better units in the NFL, so a modest nine-win season could be on the horizon for Seattle.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers (Aaron Rodgers)

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the epitome of consistent in the NFL, but it's the bad kind. This team has been consistently good for years, but that's it. They don't win playoff games anymore and don't have a long-term QB in place. In 2024, with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, the Steelers went 10-7, made the playoffs, and lost in the first round.

It's going to happen again in the 2025 NFL Season if they're even able to get into the postseason now. Aaron Rodgers did throw for 28 touchdown passes in 2024, so he wasn't an unplayable. All in all, there are a lot teams in worse shape than Pittsburgh, but there really isn't a lot special with them, either.

1. Minnesota Vikings (JJ McCarthy)

The Minnesota Vikings have one of the better rosters in the NFL, and JJ McCarthy honestly has no excuses heading into his de-facto rookie season. The Vikings invested in their offensive line this offseason and have a future Hall of Famer in Justin Jefferson for McCarthy to throw the ball to. No matter how good the young QB will be five years from now, he'll reach his ceiling with this current setup. The Vikings are first in over power rankings.
