There are a ton of great rosters in the NFL. Let's power rank the best for the 2025 season.
Building a 53-man roster in the NFL has to be quite impossible, honestly. Fortunately for these 10 teams, they've been able to build some of the best squads in the NFL today. But even beyond that, teams with loaded rosters still must have competent coaching.
As the 2025 NFL Offseason rolls on, we ranked the very best rosters in the league. Let's see which teams are at the top.
NFL Power Rankings: Ranking the league's best rosters for the 2025 season
10. Kansas City Chiefs
I am really struggling to understand why some people are so high on the Kansas City Chiefs roster? Sure, Patrick Mahomes still exists, but this team absolutely has massive questions everywhere else on the offense and perhaps now even in the secondary.
In my opinion, this team is too Mahomes-reliant and is also propped up a bit by top-tier coaching. Furthermore, all these years of KC having picks at the very bottom of rounds in the NFL Draft is beginning to catch up with them. Brett Veach is a fine GM, but we can't pretend that this squad is loaded.
Kansas City is 10th in our NFL roster power rankings.
9. Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders added some big-name players this offseason in left tackle Laremy Tunsil and wide receiver Deebo Samuel. They now have a Terry McLaurin problem on their hands, but I believe they'll find a way to get something worked out there.
The defensive line is great and the offensive line now feels as good as it's been in ages. Washington has a deep stable of weapons on offense and competent play in the middle of their defense. There aren't many weaknesses with this team overall, and when we top it off with a great coaching staff, it's easy to see why they can make another deep playoff run in the 2025 NFL Season.
The Commanders roster ranks ninth in our power rankings.
8. Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings roster comes in eight in our power rankings for the 2025 NFL Season. The Vikes made notable investments in the trenches this offseason and really shored up their offensive line with Donovan Jackson, Ryan Kelly, and Will Fries.
On paper, this offense has everything it needs, but the unknown of JJ McCarthy is what brings their roster down a bit. Another 'ding' on the roster is the secondary. It feels like they're still missing another starter or two, but defensive coordinator Brian Flores will surely be able to work with that unit for the 2025 season.
7. Denver Broncos
It's hard to find a notable weakness on the Denver Broncos, and they managed to find a way to make their already elite defense even better, adding Dre Greenlaw, Talanoa Hufanga, and Jahdae Barron to the mix this offseason. They also signed Evan Engram and JK Dobbins to provide a spark to the offense.
On paper, Denver has the best OL/DL combination in the NFL and could also have the NFL's next elite QB in Bo Nix. Sean Payton and George Paton have really turned this thing around.
6. Houston Texans
Sixth in our roster rankings is the Houston Texans. Houston overhauled their offensive line in 2025 in an effort to stabilize the entire unit. They also added some much-needed help at wide receiver and already sported one of the most talented defensive units in the NFL, but they did trade for CJ Gardner-Johnson, a do-it-all defensive back.
Where is the weakness with Houston for 2025?
5. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills may have the best offensive line in the NFL, and GM Brandon Beane made a huge investment along the defensive line this offseason. You just have to wonder what more the Bills need to get past the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC playoffs.
Sure, Josh Allen is great, and the Bills have a great roster, but something has to give. With them having yet another top-tier roster, perhaps the 2025 NFL Season is finally the year for the Buffalo Bills.
4. Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams may have the best and most explosive defensive line in the NFL. What sticks out to me about LA's roster for the 2025 NFL Season is the overall consistency on either side of the ball. Back during their Super Bowl run in 2021, their roster felt more like a superteam if anything else, but in a few short years, GM Les Snead has been able to hit on countless draft picks.
They've rebuilt their roster the right way and have set it up for long-term success. LA added Davante Adams in free agency and might have a huge Jalen Ramsey trade in the works.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl primarily because their roster just overpowered opponents. Jalen Hurts is an average QB but is surrounded by an elite OL, WR duo, and run game. Saquon Barkley hit the 2,000-yard mark in 2024, and Vic Fangio coordinated an elite defense.
Philly did lose guys like Milton Williams and Josh Sweat in free agency, but GM Howie Roseman is always pouring a ton of resources into the trenches. Philly's roster is third in the league for 2025.
2. Baltimore Ravens
After adding Jaire Alexander, do the Baltimore Ravens now have the best secondary in the NFL? They just might. Along with a top defensive line and solid offensive line, Baltimore should be on pace for another great season. They signed Derrick Henry last offseason and added DeAndre Hopkins this offseason.
Baltimore hasn't won multiple games in the playoffs since 2012, which is a huge problem, but at least they've got the second-best roster in the NFL for the 2025 season!
1. Detroit Lions
Ranking first in our roster power rankings, the Detroit Lions are sporting an overwhelming amount of talent for the 2025 NFL Season. GM Brad Holmes just might be the best in the NFL and has set this team up for long-term success.
The offensive line, even with the retirement of Frank Ragnow, is still among the best in the NFL, and we have also seem Holmes pour a ton of resources into the defensive line and the secondary. The brutal injuries they suffered in the 2024 NFL Season really ended up being their undoing.
If Detroit can push those injuries to the side in 2025, this team could make a Super Bowl run. Jared Goff and Dan Campbell are also one of the best QB/HC duos in the league. The Lions are first in our power rankings.
