Week 10 of the 2024 NFL Season is nearly over, so let's get into our latest NFL Power Rankings as Week 10 comes to a close. Oh my goodness, did we have some intense games or what? Like every week, there were also some tragic blowouts and some crazy finishes.
The Denver Broncos had a game-winning field goal lined up, but it was blocked as time expired. The Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles blew out their opponents today, and the fallout from Week 10 is most certainly going to carry into this coming week as the NFL world breaks down the games.
There is always a ton of movement in our NFL power rankings, so let's get them started here!
NFL Power Rankings, Week 11: Biggest risers and fallers after Week 10
32. New York Giants (2-8)
Geez. The 2-8 New York Giants have officially ascended into the worst team in football category after their horrific loss against the Carolina Panthers in Germany to kickoff the Sunday games in Week 10. General Manager Joe Schoen should truly feel embarrassed that he gave Daniel Jones a $160 million deal.
It would not shock me to see the Giants turn to backup QB Drew Lock. I am not sure Jones is better than Lock at this point. The Giants are headed toward yet another lost season, and major change feels likely.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8)
30. New York Jets (3-7)
This is just pathetic if you ask me. The New York Jets thought they had something cooking coming into the 2024 NFL Season, but it’s been the total opposite. The Jets now drop to 3-7 on the season and are very unlikely to make the postseason, and any chance that could happen surely went out the window in Week 10.
The Jets need to rip this thing down to the studs and rebuild. And yes, that would mean moving on from QB Aaron Rodgers, who is just not himself at this stage in his career. Rodgers turns 41 later this year, so it would not shock me if we are currently watching the last of Aaron Rodgers in the NFL.
The Jets fall to 3-7 on the season and would have to ask Aaron Rodgers to turn the clock back to 2014 if they hoped to turn their season around.
29. Tennessee Titans (2-7)
The Tennessee Titans are the most irrelevant team in the NFL as far as I am concerned. They don’t really have any star power on either side of the ball and have one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL in Will Levis.
Now I will say that their defense is pretty stingy, so that side of the ball does seem to be figured out. I guess if you want to be an optimist here, you’ll recognize that if they can get a franchise QB in the building, the team may be in a great spot for the long-term.
First-year head coach Brian Callahan may have his hands all over this offense as we progress into the 2025 NFL Offseason. The team did trade wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins at the NFL trade deadline, so perhaps they did already begin re-working this unit for the future. It’s going to be another brutal season for Titans fans in 2024.
28. Las Vegas Raiders (2-7)
The Las Vegas Raiders are on their bye week in Week 10, and this team desperately needed their bye. It’s been a horrid season for Vegas, a team that made a ton of bad mistakes last offseason. They somehow went into the 2024 NFL Season with Gardner Minshew as their starter, so you knew immediately that this team was simply not serious about winning football games.
They hired their interim head coach, Antonio Pierce, as their full-time head coach, and that has turned out to be the wrong move, but a lot of us saw that coming. They overpaid for defensive tackle Christian Wilkins in free agency and just don’t have anything going for them. The hope for this team in the long-term is that they are able to hit on a QB in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Raiders really have no choice, either; they have to take a first-round QB in 2025. This team is a disaster from top to bottom, but as I said earlier, the franchise QB fixes most issues.
27. Cleveland Browns (2-7)
The Cleveland Browns are also on their bye this week. It’s been an interesting and overall brutal season for the Browns. They lost their starting QB Deshaun Watson to a torn Achilles a few weeks ago, but if we’re being honest, Watson wasn’t even playing at a backup QB level, and when the team inserted Jameis Winston into the lineup, you immediately saw some offensive improvement.
The Browns are another team needing to head toward the 2025 NFL Draft to rebuild their team. What they do with Deshaun Watson’s contract is going to be interesting, but honestly, that contract should not impact their judgement this coming offseason.
In our Week 11 NFL Power Rankings, the Cleveland Browns land at the 27th spot in what is turning out to be a lost season for the franchise.
26. New Orleans Saints (3-7)
How about the New Orleans Saints, I guess? In their first game after firing Dennis Allen, they beat the NFC South-rival Atlanta Falcons. Now yes, the Saints are not going to make the playoffs this season, but I guess you still have to take the win even in a lost year.
Derek Carr played well, and he’s got this weird trend where he’ll play out of his mind for a few weeks and then put a few stinkers out on the field. The Saints, for years now, have needed to rip this thing down to the studs and rebuild, and them trading CB Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders seemed to indicate that they were open to that route.
I would not be shocked if the Saints were aggressive this coming offseason in shedding more veteran contracts. It’s not clear if General Manager Mickey Loomis is going to be in the equation, but he probably should not if you ask me. The Saints are 26th in our latest NFL power rankings
25. Miami Dolphins (2-6)
The Miami Dolphins face off against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football to cap-off our Week 10 action. The Dolphins again lost QB Tua Tagovailoa to an injury, so that’s been the main thing they’ve dealt with this season. It is interesting that the Dolphins extended their QB, as he has simply been unable to consistently stay healthy.
The Dolphins need to rebuild their trenches this coming offseason in hopes that they can play with that edge and toughness they’re missing. That could be a winning formula, as the team has proven that they can win a ton of games with Tua Tagovailoa as their QB.
The Miami Dolphins are 25th in our latest power rankings and may end up dropping lower next week, as the LA Rams are likely beating them on MNF later today.
24. Carolina Panthers (3-7)
How about the Carolina Panthers? This team has now surpassed their 2023 win total. They won two games in all of 2023 and have now won their third game of the season and second in a row. Now yes, they did beat the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants, but a win is a win, so this should be an encouraging sign for the Panthers.
What I see with this team is bits and pieces that can contribute to the long-term. I am not sure they have the franchise QB in the building, but they have some nice, young pieces on offense and some pieces here and there on defense. I can most definitely see the vision for the Panthers, and General Manager Dan Morgan may be tasked with trying to find a franchise QB in the 2025 NFL Draft. This is the hardest thing to do in professional sports in the non-player sense. The Panthers are 24th in our latest power rankings.
23. New England Patriots (3-7)
The New England Patriots kind of blew out the Chicago Bears in Week 10. I do like what Drake Maye has done thus far. He’s a rookie, so please do not expect anything special. Guys like CJ Stroud are the outliers, so Maye was never going to be a CJ Stroud in his rookie season. The Pats did make the right move in the 2024 NFL Draft by taking Maye, and I really hope they are aggressive this coming offseason in building around him.
New England is most definitely another two seasons away from being a contending team, but they could make some noise next season if de-facto GM Eliot Wolf is able to put some new offensive line pieces around him. The Patriots also need some more help at wide receiver.
The Pats won in Week 10 and land at the 23rd spot in our latest NFL power rankings.
22. Dallas Cowboys (3-6)
The Dallas Cowboys stink. They stink! This franchise is the epitome of dysfunction at the moment. I mean, truly, what do they do well? The team is missing notable talent along their offensive line, at running back, and at literally every level on their defense. I sincerely cannot blame Mike McCarthy for all of this mess; Jerry Jones didn’t exactly do him any favors with their offseason moves a few months ago.
The Cowboys also waited too long to extend CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott, so those two players are actually getting paid more than if the Cowboys would have extended them earlier. Shoot, this is just a horrific situation, and to make matters worse, they let the Philadelphia Eagles come into their house in Week 10 and take them to the cleaners.
With Dak Prescott out the rest of the 2024 NFL Season, the Cowboys may not win another game and could pick very high in the 2025 NFL Draft, which could be exactly what they need.
21. Chicago Bears (4-5)
The Chicago Bears are falling apart, and Caleb Williams does not look good. It’s never a good thing when your rookie QB goes backwards and the offense as a unit goes backwards at well. That’s exactly what’s happened over the past few weeks. The Chicago Bears have now lost three games in a row and are showing the entire NFL world why this team just isn’t ready yet. It would truly shock me if they decided to bring Matt Eberflus and his staff back in 2025.
There isn’t a single reason to run it back in 2025 if you ask me. You have to wonder how General Manager Ryan Poles is going to approach this next offseason, as his seat has to be getting warm as well. The Bears land at the 21st spot in our latest NFL power rankings as we close out Week 10.
20. Indianapolis Colts (4-6)
Alright man, can we end the Joe Flacco experiment? The Indianapolis Colts made a shocking move to bench second-year QB Anthony Richardson after just 10 NFL starts. Joe Flacco is their backup, and he’s not played well recently. You have to wonder if Flacco could actually play himself out of the starting job. I mean, the Colts are clearly far from a playoff team, so what is the use in continuing to throw Flacco out there?
The team needs to immediately insert Anthony Richardson back into the lineup to see if he can take some strides in his development over their last seven games. To be fair, though, if head coach Shane Steichen, who is an insanely smart offensive mind made the decision to bench Richardson, I am not sure the second-year QB from Florida is good enough to develop into a franchise QB at the NFL level.
That’s simply what it may come down to.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are falling apart. The offense is banged up and the defense can’t stop anything. The San Francisco 49ers did need every single second to kick a game-winning field goal to beat the Bucs in Week 10, but it’s not been pretty for Tampa Bay in recent weeks. The team still may have their franchise QB in Baker Mayfield, who they extended last offseason, but the team is clearly in need of more defensive help and perhaps some wide receivers to eventually replace Chris Godwin and Mike Evans,
The Buccaneers are falling into that irrelevant middle tier where they aren’t good enough to make the playoffs but also are not bad enough to be among the worst teams in the NFL and land a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. We’ll see if Mayfield can carry this team down the stretch, but it’s not likely he can.
18. Cincinnati Bengals (4-6)
At some point, we have to just accept that the Cincinnati Bengals are not going to do anything notable this year. Joe Burrow and the offense can only do so much. They lost on Thursday Night Football to the Baltimore Ravens and fall to 4-6 on the season. At this rate, the Bengals may only be able to afford one more loss, but this team simply isn’t good.
Why are we afraid to just write them off the rest of the way? I’m not! The defense is truly awful and just needs some serious rebuilding in the coming offseason, and their offense may look a lot different as well. Ja’Marr Chase does not have a long-term deal, and Tee Higgins could depart in free agency. The Cincinnati Bengals may end up going through a bit of a re-tooling process this coming offseason, perhaps similar to what the Buffalo Bills did last offseason themselves.
We’ll see what happens in Cincy. It’s not been a pretty season by any means.
17. Seattle Seahawks (4-5)
The Seattle Seahawks started the 2024 NFL Season 3-0, and I was reliably told that this team was slept on and was going to be really good this year. Well, they are now 4-5 on the season and don’t have a ton going for them at the moment.
The Seahawks aren’t going to make the playoffs this season and even if they did, they aren’t good enough to make a playoff run. The one thing this team is missing is a franchise QB; Geno Smith is probably the 22nd-best QB in the NFL at any given point, so he’s not someone who is going to lead the franchise to where they want to go.
If the Seahawks were serious about getting this right, they would take a QB in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and see if they could make that work.
16. Los Angeles Rams (4-4)
The Los Angeles Rams play on Monday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins, and they should be in line for the win. They would improve to 5-4 with the win and would have won their fourth in a row. Now yes, I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but it is shaping up to be an LA Rams victory. This team is beginning to get healthy, and a win would also keep pace in the NFC West. The Arizona Cardinals lead the division at 6-4, but the Rams could be 5-4 after Week 10, and the San Francisco 49ers are also 5-4 themselves.
LA may be getting healthy at the right time for the stretch run in the 2024 NFL Season.
15. Denver Broncos (5-5)
Perhaps the most brutal way to lose a game in the NFL is losing on a last-second field goal as time expires, but there may be something even worse. How about losing the game on a blocked field goal as time expires? The Denver Broncos had put themselves into positon to win the game. They trailed by two points and would have won by a single point.
As the play unfolded, Broncos OL Alex Forsyth got pushed straight back and allowed the Chiefs to block the field goal and clinch the win. It’s hard to push the Denver Broncos down on these power rankings given how well this team hung in the game. Bo Nix absolutely outplayed Patrick Mahomes on the day, and the Broncos offense were in the position they hoped to be.
This team was able to keep the ball out of the hands of Mahomes and milked the clock all the way down. They were setup for the win, but the Chiefs managed to block it. It was a brutal loss for the Broncos, but not exactly a loss in the figurative sense.
14. Atlanta Falcons (6-4)
The Atlanta Falcons are a good team, but nothing more. This team’s defense is just not great and cannot generate a pass rush. That’s a huge problem if you ask me. The Falcons still may run away with the NFC South title, but the New Orleans Saints got the best of them in Week 10 of the 2024 NFL Season.
The Falcons did have a very good roster heading into the 2024 free agency period, so them signing Kirk Cousins made some sense. Cousins has a limited ceiling, but he at least gives them a high-floor player who can lead them to nine or 10 wins. That seems to be where the Falcons are headed in 2024.
The Falcons travel to Denver in Week 11 to face the Denver Broncos, a team that lost in one of the more heartbreaking ways imaginable, so it would not shock me if the Broncos came into that game with a massive chip on their shoulder.
13. Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)
The LA Chargers may be the most quiet 6-3 team in the NFL. Yes, this team is 6-3. They won five games all of last year and eclipsed their 2023 win total in Week 10. They took apart the lowly Tennessee Titans, which I guess is not the most impressive win ever.
The defense is truly elite, and Justin Herbert is taking amazing care of the football. What’s abundantly clear is that the Chargers are missing a couple more weapons on offense for Herbert to use, and if they can do that next offseason and bring in another defensive starter or two, the Chargers could be among the best teams in the NFL.
I do wonder about their ceiling with the lack of explosiveness on offense, but the team is very likely headed to the playoffs in the 2024 NFL Season.
12. Arizona Cardinals (6-4)
I tried to tell you all! I tried! The Arizona Cardinals beat the pulp out of the New York Jets in Week 10 and are now 6-4 on the season. Yes, the Cardinals are 6-4. They’re figuring it out with second-year head coach Jonathon Gannon, and I do not think it’s outrageous to suggest that Kyler Murray may fetch some MVP votes this season.
The Cards lead the NFC West and might just be good enough to win the division this season. It’s been an amazing turnaround for a team that won just four games in 2023. The Cardinals obviously need some more help on defense and perhaps another starter along the offensive line, but we may be getting to a point where this team is a Super Bowl dark-horse club as we enter 2025.
Yes, this team could be that good. It’s nice to see Kyler Murray playing this well and the Cards getting back on the right track.
11. Minnesota Vikings (7-2)
The Minnesota Vikings won the ugliest game of the weekend and improve to 7-2 on the 2024 NFL Season. Depending on what happens on Sunday Night Football, the Vikings and Detroit Lions may closeout Week 10 with the same 7-2 record.
It is interesting to see that the Vikes are still hanging around with Sam Darnold at QB. I think it’s become clear in recent weeks why Darnold has not developed into a franchise QB with any team, but he could be playing himself into a bridge QB role for another team next offseason.
Minnesota took JJ McCarthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and they could trot him out there in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL Season. The Vikings are quite close and I’ll be following them closely to see just how far they could go when the postseason rolls around.
10. San Francisco 49ers (5-4)
Don’t look now, but the San Francisco 49ers are now 5-4 on the 2024 NFL Season and are still very much alive in the NFC West, which is led by the Arizona Cardinals. The 49ers got Christian McCaffrey back in Week 10 and won on a game-winning field goal against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 49ers have dealt with a ton of injuries this season, and that always seems to haunt them from time to time. They have not had Brandon Aiyuk, as he tore his ACL, and guys like Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams have also been banged up at times this year.
If the 49ers can remain reasonably healthy the rest of the way, this team may end up winning 10 games and could come away with the NFC West division title. And if they hit their stride heading into the NFL playoffs, watch out, this team could make yet another Super Bowl run.
9. Green Bay Packers (6-3)
The Green Bay Packers are probably thankful to have their bye week when it came. They are a top-10 team in the NFL. Both their offense and defense can be elite at times, but the biggest issue in 2024 has actually been Jordan Love and the interceptions. On the season, he’s thrown 15 touchdowns against 10 interceptions, which is a bit much. Heck, he threw just 11 picks all of last season.
If the Packers do want to make a deep playoff run and take a stride from 2023, they’ll need their franchise QB to start taking better care of the football. If that does not happen, I’m worried that Green Bay is going to get bounced out in the Wild Card round due to Love’s sloppy play at times.
Well, as we closeout Week 10 in the 2024 NFL Season, the Packers are still 6-3 and come in at 9th in our power rankings.
8. Houston Texans (6-3)
The Houston Texans are playing on Sunday Night Football against the Detroit Lions and are in the lead, so this could be interesting. The Texans have dealt with a tough stretch lately. Between injuries and bad OL play, they feel like a frail 6-3 team. If they fall to the Detroit Lions in Week 10, they’d drop to 6-4.
And that would be after a strong 5-1 start. I did predict the Houston Texans to win the Super Bowl this year and for QB CJ Stroud to win the MVP award, and I may end up being off on both. An improved offensive line is going to fix a ton of their issues, but injuries are not always preventable.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is out for the remainder of the 2024 NFL Season with a torn ACL, so that’s also thrown a wrench into their situation, and their defense, while it’s generated a ton of pressure, is just OK. The Texans are weird, man.
7. Washington Commanders (7-3)
The Washington Commanders were able to hang with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10, but fell just short. Honestly, if Washington didn’t win a single game the rest of the way, 2024 would still be a huge success in my opinion. Rookie QB Jayden Daniels has shown a ton of great things thus far and the Commanders franchise feels to be on the right path, finally.
They actually traded for a player at the deadline and added CB Marshon Lattimore from the New Orleans Saints. They’re in a great position to make the playoffs this year whether it’s a Wild Card or a division winner seed.
First-year head coach Dan Quinn is in his second stint as a head coach in the NFL but has gotten his new team turned around quite quickly. The Commanders are 7th in our latest NFL power rankings.
6. Baltimore Ravens (7-3)
The Baltimore Ravens started the 2024 NFL Season 0-2. They are now 7-3, so they’ve obviously figured things out. They beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football to kickoff Week 10. Lamar Jackson again played out of his mind and may win his second MVP award in a row and third overall.
Running back Derrick Henry is also playing out of his mind, and it’s not crazy to suggest that the Ravens have two legitimate MVP candidates on offense at the moment. Their pass defense is a huge concern, and if Baltimore again falters in the playoffs, it may be because of that. They are 6th in our latest NFL power rankings and are behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North by a half game. This could get fun!
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2)
Are we too low on the Pittsburgh Steelers? Is Russell Wilson… good?
I mean, this team is now 7-2 on the season and still lead the AFC North. However, the Steelers have also not played a single divisional game as of yet, so they got quite the interesting schedule down the stretch. It would not shock me to see the Steelers hit a bit of a losing streak, but as of now, everything is working for Pittsburgh.
The team started Justin Fields and decided that he wasn’t playing enough. They yanked him from the lineup and inserted Russell Wilson. Wilson has helped take this offense to the next level, and new addition Mike Williams even got in on the fun in Week 10. The Steelers beat the Washington Commanders and are now 7-2 on the season.
They sport the third-best record in the AFC and have to be looked at as one of the best teams in the NFL. Mike Tomlin continues to find a way to put his team in positions to win football games.
4. Philadelphia Eagles (7-2)
The Philadelphia Eagles are figuring it out, folks. This team took the Dallas Cowboys to the woodshed in Week 10 and are now first place in the NFC East after the Washington Commanders loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now it truly feels like a race in the division.
The Eagles may end up winning the division because of their experience, and QB Jalen Hurts has certainly played very efficiently in recent weeks. The Eagles piecing thighs together in recent weeks make throw a wrench into the NFC playoffs, as it’s really been the Detroit Lions and everyone else, but the Eagles may have something to say about that.
Can the Eagles make another Super Bowl run in 2024? They did in 2022 but could not beat the Kansas City Chiefs. In our latest power rankings, the Eagles climb to the 4th spot.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)
To be fair, it’s not exactly the best win ever when you let the Denver Broncos and rookie QB Bo Nix get in a position to win the game, only to block a field goal that likely had a 90+ percent chance of being good. The Kansas City Chiefs did win the game, yes, but this team got outplayed all game if we’re being honest.
Patrick Mahomes got beat up all game and was outplayed by Bo Nix, but he has his special teams unit to thank for serving him up a win on a platter. The Chiefs move to 9-0 on the season and remain as the lone unbeaten team in the NFL, but yet again, this team really does not feel like they’re unbeaten if that makes sense.
We’ll see just how long the Chiefs can keep this up, but there are probably a handful of teams that I would trust more than the Chiefs at this very moment.
2. Buffalo Bills (8-2)
The Buffalo Bills may be a serious team, folks. They have won eight of their first 10 games and could wrap the AFC East title up in a few weeks. Buffalo is actually kind of proving me wrong this year, and I may have to admit just that.
They’re winning a ton of games and, like the no. 1 ranked team in these power rankings, are laser-focused on the playoffs. For some of the best teams in the NFL, the regular season probably isn’t even all that fun, as they know they’ll make the postseason.
The Bills have failed to get over the hump in the NFL playoffs in recent years. Could this finally be the year that they do it? Maybe.
1. Detroit Lions (7-1)
The Detroit Lions are currently playing on Sunday Night Football against the Houston Texans, and I would not be shocked if they won that game and got to 8-1 on the season. Frankly, even in the event of a loss, the Lions would still be the best team in the NFL in my opinion. They have been no. 1 on my version of the NFL power rankings for weeks now.
From top to bottom, this team is among the best in the NFL, and we are now getting to a point with the team where the regular season may not be fun for them. I mean, they are winning at such a high rate that they surely have their eyes set on the postseason. Jared Goff is playing at an MVP level, and it’d be cool to see a different name like Goff win the award this season.
As I type this out, the Lions are actually trailing the Texans. We’ll see if that changes.
There you have it, folks our latest NFL power rankings as we approach Week 11 of the 2024 NFL Season.
