The NFL season is shaping up in a unique way, as a few playoff teams from a year ago are just not looking all that good, and other non-playoff teams are looking like they might be something. The top teams in the NFL are pretty well-known at this point, and even if there is not a clear-cut Super Bowl contender, the best teams are obvious.
We decided to take a different spin for our latest NFL power rankings, as we've actually ranked the worst teams in the NFL. Many of these teams have massive quarterback questions, which is not surprising, but other teams in this list are just flat-out dysfunctional. Our power rankings here consider the team's total body of work, coaching, and overall viability week to week.
Let's get into our power rankings, with the no. 10 team being the 'best' of the worst.
Tennessee Titans 'top' the list as the NFL's worst team following Week 11 action
10. Washington Commanders
It is hard to believe that the Washington Commanders were within one game of the Super Bowl in 2024, and it's crazy how quickly things can change in the NFL. I definitely over-hyped this team, as I thought Washington was going to win the NFC East this year, but the roster was overrated and is among the oldest in the NFL.
The team has dealt with a ton of injuries this year as well, and it's just a year that has gone down the drain. They should shutdown Jayden Daniels for the rest of the season and build for 2026.
9. Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals were once 2-0, but that feels like an eternity ago. Jacoby Brissett is now the starting QB, as it does seem like the Cardinals soft-benched Kyler Murray, who they feel motivated to move on from this coming offseason.
The Cardinals might also bring in a new coaching staff and try to reset this thing again. Fortunately, the roster is actually solid, so they might not be all that far away from sniffing a Wild Card spot in 2026.
8. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals are not a Joe Burrow return away from making a playoff run or anything - this team has to, yet again, get stronger in the trenches, but this season is revealing just how terrible the defense is, so I am not sure Cincy has the front office capability to get this roster right next offseason.
The Bengals are among the worst teams in the NFL and will be set to miss the playoffs for a third year in a row. Another prime year of Burrow's career is wasted, and you have to wonder how much longer he can tolerate before he really begins to voice his frustrations.
7. New York Giants
The New York Giants fired Brian Daboll, which was the right move. They seem to have something there with Jaxson Dart, the exciting rookie QB, but he's already suffered multiple concussions, so the next coaching staff will have to ensure Dart knows how to take care of himself on the field.
The Giants will get Malik Nabers back at some point in 2026, and the defensive front is fierce. The pieces are there to make a run in 2026, but the next coaching staff simply has to be the right one, as this team continues to be among the worst in the league, year in and year out.
6. Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are now down their starting QB, have no first-round draft pick in 2026, and aren't going to make the playoffs this year. What in the heck is going on here? The Falcons are not only a bad team now, but the future looks very, very bleak.
It would take a miracle for this team to get on the right path.
5. Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns have a playoff-caliber defense, but that's about it. The team's offense is flat-out painful to watch, and, until that gets fixed, this team is not going to accomplish anything. Could Kevin Stefanski be fired this coming offseason? Have the Browns' front office and ownership had enough?
4. Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders might be one of the worst-coached teams in the NFL, and with how things are shaking out this year, I can't help but wonder if Pete Carroll could be a one-and-done head coach? He is well into his 70s and surely did not expect the season to go the way it has thus far.
The offense is simply inept and inefficient, and the defense lacks talent just about everywhere. Many people had hyped up the Raiders this offseason as being a team that could surprise and win more than we think, but it's been the total opposite and yet another season to forget for the franchise.
3. New York Jets
The New York Jets traded Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams at the deadline, and that was a huge signal that this team is going to undergo a major rebuild, which is the right move. They also benched Justin Fields, but he probably should not have been signed in the first place.
If nothing else, the Jets have shown some fight under Aaron Glenn and do now have a war chest of draft picks over the next two years, but the first priority is getting the QB. Without getting the quarterback, it will not matter how many other talented players they are able to acquire.
The Jets are the third-worst team in the NFL at this point.
2. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints were expected to be bad this year, so I guess this isn't much of a surprise, but GM Mickey Loomis has done more harm than good the past few years, so I am personally not confident that he can turn this franchise around, as he got the Saints into the mess they are in.
Tyler Shough has been decent in the NFL thus far and could play well enough to prevent the Saints from taking a QB in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. This team needs talent everywhere.
1. Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans were the first team to fire its head coach this year, and this might also be the worst roster we've seen in the NFL in years. The Titans are simply bad from top to bottom, and GM Mike Borgonzi really has to hit this next head coach hire out of the park.
If not, his tenure is going to be short-lived. Rookie QB Cam Ward has also struggled this year, but he could make a leap in year two if the front office is aggressive enough in acquiring the right talent.
