There is a ton of movement in our updated NFL power rankings as Week 5 of the 2025 NFL Season closes out. The Philadelphia Eagles took their first loss of the season at the hands of the Denver Broncos, and it was a wild finish.

Other teams like the Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints both got their first wins of the season, leaving the New York Jets as the lone winless team in the NFL approaching Week 6 action. There is a ton of change in our NFL power rankings, so it was a lot to keep up with.

Furthermore, Week 5 was the first time any team could have their bye week, so four teams were off this week as well. Let's get into our updated NFL power rankings and look at the biggest risers and fallers.

NFL power rankings following intense Week 5 action

32. New York Jets (0-5)

The New York Jets might be one of the worst teams the NFL has seen in the 17-game era, which began back in the 2021 season. Besides lose, what do the Jets do well? The head coach and coaching staff as a whole seem in way over their heads, and there aren’t many good players on this team, either.

The Jets did just hire this staff and front office in the 2025 offseason, so it was going to take some time to get going, but this is just another level of incompetence. The Jets might not win a single game this year, and I don’t think that is at all an exaggeration.

31. Tennessee Titans (1-4)

How about that finish? The Tennessee Titans get their first win of the 2025 NFL Season with a wild finish over the Arizona Cardinals who now have a ton of questions to answer. The Titans are still a bad football team and honestly won because of how poorly the Cardinals played. It is a nice response after getting shutout against the Houston Texans, though.

The Titans rise up one slot in our NFL power rankings and now leave the New York Jets as the lone winless team in the NFL. It is important to not lose the plot here, though - the Titans have a ton of issues, and a sloppy win like this does not change much at all, so I would not expect them to win many more games this year. Tennessee is no. 31 in our power rankings.

30. Las Vegas Raiders (1-4)

This might be the worst team in football, and you could convince me that they are. The Las Vegas Raiders, from top to bottom, are a flat-out horrendous football team and operation. There are way too many mistakes to list off that this franchise has made, but trading draft capital for Geno Smith is the most egregious error of them all.

I am not sure how many wins this team has left on its schedule, but it’s not many. It would be wise for this team to begin scouting some QBs in the 2026 NFL Draft, as Geno Smith is not close to being any sort of answer.

The Raiders continue to ‘Raider,’ if you will. They continue to fall in our power rankings and it feels like this team is years away from emerging as anything worthwhile. Heck, even head coach Pete Carroll is getting out-coached just about every single week thus far. How did this team even win a single game?

29. Cincinnati Bengals (2-3)

The Cincinnati Bengals shockingly made this game a bit interesting in the fourth quarter, but they were always going to lose to the Detroit Lions, and I am not sure any sort of trap game or upset was even possible here. Jake Browning keeps putting the ball in harm’s way, and this team just isn’t going to win many more games with him under center.

Still only 2-3, the Bengals haven’t really lost a grip on much, and they do have a chance to save their season with a QB trade. They do owe it to the fans and the roster to make a QB move here, as Browning is simply unplayable at this point. Jameis Winston or Russell Wilson do make a lot of sense if you ask me.

And with how weak the AFC appears to be right now, a nine-win team likely gets in this year if you ask me. A 2-3 start does not end anyone’s season, but unless the Bengals are able to rebound from this, they will keep spiraling. Right now, Cincy is all the way down at 29th in our updated AFC power rankings, and that feels about right for this poorly-run franchise.

28. New York Giants (1-4)

I did have a small feeling that the New York Giants were going to have a letdown game against the New Orleans Saints, and they indeed did. Jaxson Dart threw two interceptions in this game, and the Giants kind of fall back down to earth a bit after beating the LA Chargers in Week 4, and this just proves how funny the NFL is.

The Giants went from beating the Chargers, one of the more stout teams in the entire NFL to losing to one of the worst teams in the NFL the following week. The G-Men have notable roster holes, and a lot of that isn’t going to get fixed until a new regime is brought in.

And with Jaxson Dart having started just two games in the NFL, things are going to take a while to get going even if they do. It’s still going to be a process to see if Dart can be the guy. It’s back to reality for the Giants here as Week 5 of the 2025 NFL Season closes out.

27. Miami Dolphins (1-4)

I have to wonder if this could be it for Dolphins’ head coach Mike McDaniel, honestly. Miami got out to a quick lead, and it seemed like they were going to run away with this game, but the Panthers kept clawing back and now have their second win of the 2025 NFL Season.

The Dolphins had a great chance in this game to close it out and get to 2-3 on the season, which would have actually put them in a respectable spot, but the Dolphins blew it, and things are really on the cusp of falling apart if you ask me.

Miami doesn’t have a great roster by any means, as it’s only bits and pieces of something that could become great. It feels like a hard reset is what this team needs and a veteran head coach could be on the way.

A Mike McCarthy would not be a bad idea for this franchise in 2026 and beyond. We are a long way from that, but it’s just a thought that I have at the moment. The Dolphins continue being a staple ranked very low in our NFL power rankings.

26. New Orleans Saints (1-4)

Very quietly, Spencer Rattler has been good this year. He’s thrown six touchdown passes and has a passer rating of 90.4. The New Orleans Saints are a bad football team, but Rattler has more than held his own, and it’s very interesting to watch. I would have to imagine that he is going to be their starting QB heading into the 2026 NFL Season unless Tyler Shough ends up developing.

Head coach Kellen Moore has to be very encouraged with what he has seen from his young QB thus far, and this was a pretty solid win for the Saints, who now join several other teams with one win on the season. They leave the New York Jets as the lone winless team in the NFL, and it feels like the Saints are significantly better than New York.

Despite the win against a bad Giants team, the Saints still have major roster issues, and this one win does not change the big picture here - GM Mickey Loomis probably has to go, and a new voice needs to be brought in to fix this franchise.

They might have something here with Spencer Rattler.

25. Cleveland Browns (1-4)

The Cleveland Browns do have themselves a playoff-caliber defense, but most of us know that. The Browns got a pretty solid first career NFL start from Dillon Gabriel, but it was not enough for the win. If nothing else, the Browns did keep it close against the Vikings in an international showdown, so it was a really tough spot for the rookie Gabriel to be in.

The Browns are likely going to continue starting their third-round rookie until he gives them a reason to head to the bench, perhaps in favor of Shedeur Sanders. I have said for a while now that the Browns would be smart to get both rookie QBs starts this year to see what they have in them.

It’d be a long time before we’d likely see Sanders start, but it’s something to definitely keep an eye out for as the 2025 NFL Season progresses. The Browns do have a solid foundation, as their rookie class largely looks great this year, so dare I say that there could be some hope on the horizon?

24. Carolina Panthers (2-3)

How about that win? The Carolina Panthers get their second win of the season and are showing a ton of fight, which is actually a welcome change for this franchise. Bryce Young now has seven touchdowns against four interceptions this year, so his TD:INT ratio is at least pointing in the right direction.

It’s tough to see how Carolina is ging to emerge as anything in the 2025 NFL Season, but two wins across the first five games is actually something that many other NFL teams cannot say they have done thus far.

Ultimately, though, I do not get the sense that Young is going to all of a sudden turn into the franchise QB they have been missing since the prime Cam Newton years. The front office that drafted Young has not been with the team for multiple years, so it’s worth noting that.

Unless something radical changes, the Carolina Panthers are probably going to take a QB at some point very high in the 2026 NFL Draft. They get a nice win in Week 5, but the big picture does not change much at all.

23. Arizona Cardinals (2-3)

This was supposed to be a game in which the Arizona Cardinals get back on track after a two-game losing streak. The Tennessee Titans are one of the worst teams in the NFL, so you’d think that the Cardinals would have won this one, right?

Well, they made just about every unlikely error that you can think of, and it’s the type of game that separates the contenders from the pretenders. I was high on the Cardinals this year as a 10-win team and a potential Wild Card playoff club, but this feels like one of the most underwhelming, average teams in the NFL.

This loss was simply inexcusable, and it feels like the franchise just got set back a bit by this one. The Cardinals fall a bit in our updated NFL power rankings as Week 5 closes out.

22. Baltimore Ravens (1-4)

This was probably expected to an extent, as the Baltimore Ravens were missing a truckload of starters in Week 5, including MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, the best athlete in the NFL. It feels like the 2025 NFL Season is about gone for the Ravens unless something crazy happens, but I guess 1-4 is not the worst hole to be in. Baltimore still has 12 regular season games left and probably has to go 8-4 the rest of the way, which isn’t impossible.

Simply put, it’s going to take the team getting healthy, and it’s easier said than done, but even when healthy, the defense has been suspect. I get the sense that Baltimore isn’t going to do anything fancy here in the coming weeks and will just work to get as healthy as possible. We have seen teams get in early holes before and make it into the postseason.

And while they did not do it, the 2023 Denver Broncos were 1-5 to begin the season but finished with eight wins, so there is a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. For now, though, Baltimore is not a good football team. They fall in our latest NFL power rankings, as expected.

21. Houston Texans (2-3)

Don’t look now, but the Houston Texans have won two games in a row and are now 2-3 on the season. Now yes, the Texans have beaten the lowly Tennessee Titans and Lamar Jackson-less Baltimore Ravens, but teams can’t help who is on their schedule and which players are healthy, so they took care of business.

Houston has gone 10-7 in the regular season over the past two seasons and have won the AFC South and a playoff game in each season. They have cemented themselves as a quality NFL team, but many have wondered if they would be able to take that next step this offseason.

Unsurprisingly, though, the offensive line has been a huge concern, and it’s not getting better anytime soon. With the way things are trending right now, I believe Houston is going to ride this out and see if they can keep this winning streak going.

Now that they have multiple quality games of tape, they could use that to perhaps propel themselves in the middle of the season. If nothing else, CJ Stroud has shown the ability to be a high-end QB, and the defense is flat-out smothering, so I guess we have to entertain that the Texans can become a good NFL team here in 2025.

20. Dallas Cowboys (2-2-1)

The Dallas Cowboys might be a good football team. After tying with the Green Bay Packers in Week 4, they follow up their huge offensive output with a complete game and another massive offensive output, this time against the lowly New York Jets, who drop to 0-5 with the loss. The Cowboys aren’t a special team by any means, but Dak Prescott has been playing his tail off this year.

The main concern with this team has obviously been the defense, as it’s just kind of soft up the middle, so if the Cowboys can figure something out there, I guess they could flirt with a winning record in the 2025 NFL Season.

It was definitely one of the more loud offseasons we have seen from the Cowboys franchise, and that is saying something. The team traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers and also traded for George Pickens, a stud wide receiver who has a very loud personality.

All in all, it’s gone pretty well for Dallas this year, so do not rule this team out from doing something down the stretch here.

19. Minnesota Vikings (3-2)

It was not pretty, but the Minnesota Vikings found a way to win in Week 5, their second international game in a row, which is just wild to me. However, Minnesota goes 1-1 overseas with Carson Wentz as QB, which isn’t the worst thing ever. Now back over .500, the Vikings are honestly faced with a bit of an issue:

Who in the heck is their QB going to be? JJ McCarthy probably isn’t healthy enough yet, but Wentz himself can only be so effective. With each passing week, it does seem a bit odd that the Vikings did not do more to retain Sam Darnold, as he has played quite well this year despite the Seattle Seahawks’ loss in Week 5 against the Buccaneers.

The Vikings have to figure out this QB situation if they hope to compete in the NFC and actually make the playoffs this year. It’s not going to be sustainable to keep trotting out veteran QBs they sign off the streets, but a win is a win. Minnesota rises in our NFL power rankings.

18. Atlanta Falcons (2-2)

One of four teams on their bye this week, the Atlanta Falcons have split their first two games of the 2025 NFL Season but are very much alive in the NFC South. With the Saints, Panthers, and Buccaneers all winning in Week 5, the Falcons definitely saw things go in the direction they didn’t want while resting.

The Falcons are giving the reins to Michael Penix Jr this year, and it’s not been the best start for Penix, but he is still, effectively, a rookie, so it’s going to take some time for this operation to get off the ground if it ever does.

Atlanta does have the benefit of being in a weaker division, so I guess that could help them out down the stretch. This feels like one of the most average teams in the NFL right now, so they come in at 18th in our updated NFL power rankings.

17. Chicago Bears (2-2)

The Chicago Bears may have figured something out on offense over the past two weeks, but they had a bye in Week 5, so that momentum is going to have to wait until Week 6. I do believe the Bears can compete with the rest of the teams in the NFC North, but with Ben Johnson being in his first year as their head coach, this operation is not going to get fixed overnight.

The Bears could end up sneaking into a Wild Card seed in the NFC playoffs when it’s all said and done, but a lot can happen over 13 regular season games. The Bears are 17th in our NFL power rankings, but things are pointing upward.

Second-year QB Caleb Williams has looked quite sharp this year, so a breakout could also be on the horizon for him and that offense after the bye.

16. Los Angeles Chargers (3-2)

The Los Angeles Chargers are losing a grip on things. Between the offensive line being a mess, the roster simply not being all that talented, and them facing good teams, things are all of a sudden going in the wrong direction.

The Chargers were once 3-0 with a two-game lead in the AFC West, but two losses in a row and two wins in a row from the Denver Broncos has this division looking a lot different right now. The Kansas City Chiefs could also take care of business against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week and be right back in the mix as well.

It would be very on-brand for the AFC West to see the Chargers, Broncos, and Chiefs all at 3-2 after five games, but the Las Vegas Raiders bringing up the rear at a lowly 1-4. The Raiders have too many issues to count, but many of their issues are with the QB, Geno Smith.

Anyway, the Chargers lose their second game in a row and continue falling in out NFL power rankings.

15. New England Patriots (2-2)

The New England Patriots play on Sunday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills, and while I do believe they will lose that game, they should be able to keep it close, so I would not be shocked to wake up on Monday and see a 28-27 type of win for the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo’s defense has not been great this year, and I do not believe you are high enough on Drake Maye.

Maye has been sensational this year and is breaking out before our eyes. He is simply ascending each week and has Josh McDaniels as his offensive coordinator, which would help any quarterback. I have said that the Pats still feel about a year away given how much change has hit them in the past several months, but this team is on the right track.

They also feel significantly better than they were at any point in the 2024 NFL Season. With Mike Vrabel as the head coach and this team simply being run by adults, the Patriots are in a good spot, period.

14. Kansas City Chiefs (2-2)

After a shaky 0-2 start to the 2025 NFL Season, the Kansas City Chiefs have won two games in a row and find themselves right on the cusp of breaking out. The Chiefs are in Jacksonville to face the shockingly competitive Jaguars, and I am not sure KC can overlook this opponent.

Even just a year ago, this team would be trending toward being a blowout for the Chiefs, but the Jags will hang around. Anyway, what seems to be holding Kansas City back is some inconsistencies on offense and just not having anyone all that special anymore on defense.

The Chiefs could use a starting-caliber running back, and they clearly miss Rashee Rice, who is set to return soon. At the end of the day, with how weak the AFC is, the Chiefs are obviously going to win a ton of games and could very well win the division for the 10th year in a row, but it doesn’t seem to be all that clear-cut at the moment.

We’ll find out a lot about the Chiefs in their Week 5 showdown against the Jaguars.

13. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)

This Jaguars’ team being 3-1 on the season is honestly very impressive, and a ton of early credit goes to Liam Coen and his staff for this wicked-hot start. The offense is absolutely still a work in progress, but this defense has been all over the place. The Jags host the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, and I am not sure the Jags will lose this game.

I do believe we have to begin buying into this team based off of their excellent Week 4 win at the San Francisco 49ers. Them being able to take care of business at home feels like a safe bet to me.

Trevor Lawrence does need to play better, and that should end up happening, as the run game is coming alive. This team still feels a bit incomplete, but they are in a solid position to be in the AFC South race for the entire 2025 NFL Season.

The offense stabilizing is really the one thing that holds this team back from being great.

12. Seattle Seahawks (3-2)

The Seattle Seahawks got beaten at home in Week 5 by one of the best teams in the NFL, so this is not a bad loss by any means. On paper, Seattle is a good team, but they are far from great. And honestly, I see a lot of ‘good’ with this group, but is that going to be enough in the loaded NFC to make any noise when the playoffs roll around?

Probably not. Sam Darnold threw for 341 yards and four touchdowns on the day, but he did toss a costly interception that the Buccaneers then used to kick the game-winning field goal. All in all, the Seahawks are in a fine spot and are trending toward being a playoff team in 2025. This team did win 10 games in the 2024 NFL Season but were the only double-digit win team that did not make the postseason.

Them trading Geno Smith and signing Sam Darnold seems to be paying off, as Geno Smith has been flat-out horrendous this year for the Las Vegas Raiders.

11. Indianapolis Colts (4-1)

The Indianapolis Colts could be a legitimate team, but we can’t put too much into them beating the Las Vegas Raiders at home. Sure, this was a huge win, quite literally, but it’s also the Raiders. Both sides of the ball were humming on Sunday, and the offense was on fire.

The Colts do have better weapons than most teams, and it seems like all they were missing is even an average QB to right the ship. It remains to be seen if Daniel Jones can be a long-term answer, but things are pointing up, and you can’t really complain much at all about a 4-1 start.

The AFC South does feel like it could belong to the Colts in the 2025 NFL Season, but the Houston Texans have won two games in a row, so I guess we cannot rule them out. Furthermore, the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars could play some spoiler against the Kansas City Chiefs.

So far, so good for the Colts. This is a very good football team, period.

10. Washington Commanders (3-2)

In Jayden Daniels’ first game back in the lineup, the Washington Commanders go on the road and get a huge win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and with the Philadelphia Eagles losing in Week 5 to the Denver Broncos, the Commanders effectively closed the entire gap in the NFC East.

I do think the Eagles could end up winning this division, but the Commanders are not going to go quietly. Washington does have an old roster, but that age does bring experience, and this was a perfect example of that - going into a hostile environment against a good team and coming out of the other side with a huge win.

This franchise has done a complete 180 since Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels entered the mix back in the 2024 NFL Offseason. They rise a bit in our NFL power rankings and get over .500. They were able to survive just fine without Daniels and are surely now going to look to break this thing open in the coming weeks, perhaps taking a lead in the division on the way.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost during the bye week! I am only kidding, but the Steelers are 3-1 on the season and did not play in Week 5 due to the bye. All of a sudden, they look like the runaway favorite in the AFC North this year. The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns all lost in Week 5, so the Steelers gained even more ground without having to lift a finger. Veteran QB Aaron Rodgers has also played quite well this year, so we have to give him credit for that. I do wonder if this defense can actually get a bit more consistent and not have the ‘boom or bust’ mentality that this defense has thrived on for years.

Furthermore, the ceiling with this offense remains to be seen, but winning three of their first four games is impressive and indicative of the well-oiled machine this team and franchise is. Without taking the QB position more seriously, though, Pittsburgh is never going to ascend to atop the NFL, and they won’t win playoff games.

Aaron Rodgers is a fun solution, but this team is going to be in another bad position next offseason when the four-time MVP decides to hang it up.

8. Los Angeles Rams (3-2)

The Los Angeles Rams earned themselves a nice win when they beat the Indianapolis Colts at home and had a great chance to get to 4-1 on the season by beating up on the injured San Francisco 49ers. This was a bad loss by the Rams, and there is no sugarcoating that.

Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford should have been able to close the deal here, but through four games in the 2024 NFL Season, the Rams were 1-4 and finished with 10 wins, so they are ahead of schedule based on last year.

At the end of the day, I would still trust the Rams to capture the NFC West, but I guess we can’t even rule out the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams fall a bit in our power rankings but are going to rebound.

This roster is too good to not stack a ton of wins at the end of the day. This team is going to be just fine, but this was a bad loss.

7. San Francisco 49ers (4-1)

How about the San Francisco 49ers? What a win for this bunch on Thursday Night Football, and I got this one very wrong. The 49ers played a solid game and honestly upset the Los Angeles Rams, but perhaps we were not high enough on Mac Jones, is Jones even a worse QB than Brock Purdy?

The one thing that has gotten in this team’s way is the injuries, and it’s a trend that has plagued Kyle Shanahan’s tenure for years now. If the 49ers get healthy, they could continue stacking wins and could even capture the NFC West title in the 2025 NFL Season.

You do have to wonder, though, if this team is going to be so quick to insert Purdy back into the starting lineup ASAP? If Mac Jones continues playing this well and the 49ers are winning more than they are losing, I don’t think it’d be a wise idea to send Jones back to the bench.

We could take this a step further and even say that the 49ers’ decision to extend Brock Purdy might not have been the best idea.

6. Green Bay Packers (2-1-1)

On their bye week here in Week 5, the Green Bay Packers have failed to two win over their last two games, losing to the Cleveland Browns and tying with the Dallas Cowboys, so it’s a bit of an interesting start for the Packers. With the Lions and Vikings winning in Week 5, the Packers are going to have a ton of work to do when they come off the bye.

And right now, it feels like the Detroit Lions are again going to capture the NFC North title. The Vikings and Bears really do not feel like legitimate threats in the division, but the Packers did beat the Lions in Week 1, so that is important to note here.

All in all, the Packers are going to be just fine, but they are in an odd spot - a very early bye and having a tie on their record does really make things a bit skewed. This team is going to have to play their remaining 13 regular season games all in a row with no breaks besides the obvious rest.

5. Philadelphia Eagles (4-1)

It was another second-half meltdown for the Philadelphia Eagles, and their luck was going to run out at some point. The Denver Broncos trailed by 14 points entering the fourth quarter, but if the 2025 NFL Season has shown us anything, it’s that double-digit leads can truly evaporate. Not only did their offense not do enough after their TD drive to open up the second half, but the defense broke down as well.

Bo Nix completed nine of 10 passes in the fourth quarter and was able to lead this team do an additional 18 points following just three across the first three quarters. This was easily one of the worst losses of the Nick Sirianni era, but in the loss, Philly drops to 4-1, so they are still among the best teams in the NFL when it’s all said and done.

However, something has to be said about just how good this team can actually be if they are giving up massive leads in the second half against a team they probably should have been able to put away. Philly drops in our power rankings, but I do have a feeling that they are going to figure something out and will be fine.

4. Denver Broncos (3-2)

So much can change in today’s NFL. In Weeks 2 and 3, the Denver Broncos lost on walk-off field goals to the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers. Losing one game like that is brutal, but losing two in back-to-back weeks is something that really tests a team. Well, Denver took care of business on Monday Night Football against the lowly Cincinnati Bengals, but traveling across the country on a short week was a huge test.

And in the first three quarters, the Broncos looked lost and it looked like they had already moved into their London game in Week 6 against the New York Jets. However, Bo Nix was not ready to quit, and this offense went on three scoring drives in the fourth quarter alone, shutting out the Eagles 18-0 thanks to two touchdown drives and a late field goal.

The Broncos skyrocket in our power rankings and have now won two games in a row after a shaky 1-2 start to begin the 2025 NFL Season.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1)

This was an amazing win by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and I am convinced with this team - they are absolutely one of the best in the NFL right now and have risen to third in our updated NFL power rankings.

It was a high-scoring affair, and it feels like that’s where this team thrives the most. It’s never pretty or perfect, but it’s yet another close win for the Bucs, and a mark of a great team in the NFL is being able to consistently win those close games.

We saw them drop a bit of a stinker in Week 4 against the Eagles, but them being able to go on the road and win this one over the Seattle Seahawks is a huge testament to how great this coaching staff is and how well-built this team is. Hats off to the Buccaneers for this win, and especially to QB Baker Mayfield, one of the league’s best.

2. Detroit Lions (4-1)

The Cincinnati Bengals scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter against the Detroit Lions is definitely something the Lions aren’t pleased with, but it’s a double-digit win for Detroit and their fourth victory in a row after a very ugly Week 1 loss against the Green Bay Packers. Ranked no. 2 in our updated power rankings, the Lions do feel like the best team in the NFC by a longshot.

However, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are right there, and it would not shock me to see Tampa and Detroit in the NFC Championship Game this year. Jared Goff is again having an insane season, and it feels like the offense is going to be just fine without Ben Johnson, who is the head coach of the Chicago Bears.

The defense is also going to be just fine, and after five games, Johnson and Aaron Glenn both departing has not seemed to have impacted this team as much as many thought it would coming into the 2025 season.

The Lions aren’t quite at the top, though.

1. Buffalo Bills (4-0)

The Buffalo Bills have a date with the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football here in Week 5. On paper, Buffalo is one of the best teams in the NFL, but the team’s defense has been a bit of a sore spot here in 2025.

I do believe the New England Patriots are going to keep this game close, but Buffalo is going to overwhelm them and come out victorious, which would make them the lone unbeaten team in the NFL, as the Eagles fell to the Denver Broncos in Week 5.

If Buffalo can simply keep beating teams they should, this could be the year that they actually earn the top seed in the AFC playoffs, which could do wonders for their chances at making a Super Bowl run, something that has evaded them for years now.

With the rest of the AFC kind of being a mess at this point, the Bills have a great opportunity in front of themselves. Heck, who is the second-best team in the conference at the moment? Buffalo is again at the top of our NFL power rankings, and with a 0 in their loss column for the time being, they should be.
