The 2024 NFL Draft is nearly upon us. The Chicago Bears have been on the clock all offseason, but there's little suspense about what they will do at #1 overall. Everything that happens after that is going to be fascinating as this year's class features top-flight prospects both at quarterback and wide receiver. This 2024 NFL mock draft scenario is going to explore some of the crazy trades that could happen as a result of the depth at those positions.
Which teams will get desperate? Which teams could strike out of nowhere? Which teams will get unlucky? We're giving the Chicago Bears an absolute dream scenario in this 2024 NFL mock draft.
1) Chicago Bears (from Carolina): Caleb Williams, QB, USC
There shouldn’t be any theatrics with this pick. The Bears land their franchise QB of the future and someone to potentially break the Chicago QB curse.
2) Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
The Commanders’ top target with the 2nd pick remains a mystery, maybe even in their own building. New general manager Adam Peters was with the 49ers when they whiffed on Trey Lance a couple of years ago. How will that shape this decision, if at all?
3) New England Patriots: JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan
The Patriots had a dynasty with a Michigan quarterback. JJ McCarthy might not win six titles like Tom Brady, but he’s got the type of mentality NFL teams love at the quarterback position.
4) Chicago Bears (from Cardinals): Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
The Bears don’t need to worry about their 2025 first-round pick considering they have held the #1 overall pick in consecutive years and have been able to maneuver around the order enough to land some stud veterans with their extra picks. Imagine being able to pair up Caleb Williams with Marvin Harrison Jr. on top of already having DJ Moore and Keenan Allen now in the mix.

5) Minnesota Vikings (from Chargers): Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
The Vikings added another 1st-round pick from the Texans in this year’s draft, presumably to position themselves to be able to move up for a QB. They get their guy here in Drake Maye, who has ties to Vikings QBs coach Josh McCown dating back to his high school years.
6) New York Giants: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
Rome Odunze might be the most underrated player in this year’s draft, and that’s saying something considering just about everybody loves him. He might be the best non-QB in the 2024 class.
7) Tennessee Titans: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
The Titans get Will Levis a much-needed new blindside protector here in Notre Dame’s Joe Alt, maybe the best in an elite class of offensive linemen.
8) Atlanta Falcons: Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama
The first defender comes off the board to the Atlanta Falcons, who get one of the more underrated players in the class. Dallas Turner has elite get-off, elite length, and had a phenomenal year this past year at Alabama. He’s going to be a consistent stud.
9) Arizona Cardinals (from Bears): Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
The Arizona Cardinals traded back with the Chicago Bears, knowing they were going to be able to land themselves a star with the 9th overall pick. They get Malik Nabers to come in and be their WR1 while adding future draft capital from the Bears.
10) Green Bay Packers (from Jets): Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
The Green Bay Packers have 11 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, and I’m not certain that team has 11 spots for rookies on the roster. They give the Jets back this year’s pick from the Aaron Rodgers deal plus some additional selections to move up for the best corner in the draft.
11) Los Angeles Chargers (from Vikings): Taliese Fuaga, OL, Oregon State
Jim Harbaugh loves to build through the trenches. Taliese Fuaga gives them positional flexibility, toughness, and athleticism to surround Justin Herbert.
12) Denver Broncos: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
The Denver Broncos might like some of the QBs left here, but ultimately, Sean Payton goes after an ideal fit for his offense to move around the formation and feature in the passing game. The Broncos lack a go-to threat in the passing game right now. Brock Bowers changes that.
13) Las Vegas Raiders: Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
The buzz has been building significantly for Michael Penix going in the first half of the first round. Will the Raiders actually pull the trigger here? This could be a really fun fit.
14) New Orleans Saints: Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State
The Saints have question marks right now at both tackle positions, and Olu Fashanu can answer at least one of them. The Saints might prefer someone who can play the right side or at least project better there, but Fashanu is arguably the best pass protector in the draft.
15) Indianapolis Colts: Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa
The Indianapolis Colts have likely been salivating over DeJean’s pro day workout ever since it ended. With multiple needs now and down the line in the secondary, DeJean’s positional versatility could play well with the Colts’ situation.
16) Seattle Seahawks: Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
In other years that aren’t so top-heavy in terms of offensive talent, Jared Verse might be a top-10 pick. The Seahawks get a huge difference maker off the edge here at pick 16.
17) Jacksonville Jaguars: Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
The Jacksonville Jaguars desperately need to upgrade their secondary and Quinyon Mitchell could be viewed as a steal with this pick. He’s got tremendous ball skills and elite athletic traits.
18) Cincinnati Bengals: JC Latham, OT, Alabama
Signing Trent Brown might be a nice bandage for the Bengals at right tackle, but they need a long-term solution opposite of Orlando Brown Jr.
19) Los Angeles Rams: Troy Fautanu, OT, Washington
The Los Angeles Rams have been hard at work upgrading their offensive line the last couple of offseasons. The final piece of the puzzle could be Troy Fautanu as the long-term left tackle.
20) Pittsburgh Steelers: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
The Steelers took Broderick Jones last year, and here they get his former teammate Amarius Mims. Mims isn’t quite a blank canvas, but almost. He’s one of the most enticing athletic marvels of the class, and maybe has the highest upside among the tackles.
21) Miami Dolphins: Graham Barton, OL, Duke
The Miami Dolphins will need to replace the injured free agent Connor Williams, and Graham Barton absolutely crushed it at his Duke pro day. He’s played all over the offensive line and is a plug-and-play wherever the Dolphins would need.
22) Philadelphia Eagles: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
Vic Fangio needs some young corners. Although tackling is a non-negotiable for Fangio, Nate Wiggins is too good in coverage to leave on the board after what we saw last year from James Bradberry.
23) Los Angeles Chargers (from Vikings): Byron Murphy, DL, Texas
The Chargers went to the trenches offensively earlier in this scenario, and here they get the best interior defensive lineman in the 2024 NFL Draft.
24) Dallas Cowboys: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU
The Cowboys strike out on the top tackle prospects. How will they pivot? CeeDee Lamb needs some help out there at receiver, and Brian Thomas Jr. is a big play waiting to happen with elite size and speed.
25) New York Jets (from Packers): Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon
The Jets made a surprising pick last year with Will McDonald IV at 16 overall, and they make a bit of a stunner here, adding the speedy Troy Franklin to go with Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams. They are all in on the small window with Aaron Rodgers.
26) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
Just like TJ Watt was a steal late in the 1st round a few years back, Laiatu Latu is going to be an absolute steal if he lasts into the 20s. He is as NFL-ready as they come with his pass rush repertoire. Questions about health long-term push him down the board.
27) Arizona Cardinals (from Houston): Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
The athletic traits are there in spades with Chop Robinson. The statistical production at Penn State wasn’t. Not always, at least. But Jonathan Gannon gets a possible alpha off the edge here late in the first round.
28) Buffalo Bills: Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia
The Bills let Stefon Diggs go in a trade with the Texans. They let Gabe Davis walk in free agency to the Jaguars. What in the world are they going to do at receiver besides Curtis Samuel? Ladd McConkey can get open quickly and be an immediate possession target for Josh Allen.
29) Detroit Lions: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
The Lions have selected the player who most recently wore #1 at Alabama for two years in a row, why not make it three? Kool-Aid McKinstry also just so happens to fill the Lions’ biggest present need.
30) Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
The Ravens might need to go shopping for a new starting right tackle in round one of this draft after shipping off Morgan Moses in a trade. Tyler Guyton is raw but he could fit in just fine with Baltimore’s run-heavy attack.
31) Denver Broncos (from 49ers): Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
The Broncos don’t have a 2nd-round pick, but they could entice the 49ers with some other future first-round picks to get into this slot for Bo Nix, securing a possible starting QB option and getting that 5th-year team option on the contract.
32) Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
Just what the Kansas City Chiefs need – the guy who set the NFL Combine record in the 40-yard dash.
