The Denver Broncos didn't do much in the main waves of free agency thus far. How will their 2024 NFL Draft look at this point in time? The Minnesota Vikings also were able to recently acquire another first-round pick in 2024, so the Broncos may have to deal with that if they were hoping to trade up for a QB.

With the Vikings picking 11th overall and the Broncos picking 12th overall, a trade up for a QB might now be out of the question. Instead, the Broncos may actually be able to trade down in the 2024 NFL Draft and target someone like Bo Nix from Oregon, who fits Sean Payton's offense like a glove. Well, could this 2024 NFL Mock Draft be the path that the Denver Broncos take?

Broncos 2024 NFL Mock Draft after quiet free agency
34th Overall Pick (via NE) - Bo Nix, QB, Oregon

After trading down a few times, I was able to strategically get the Denver Broncos into the top of the second round with Bo Nix still on the board, so I made that move. Nix isn't in the class with Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, or JJ McCarthy, but he's still a solid NFL prospect and someone who could start immediately for the Denver Broncos.

57th Overall Pick (via TB) - Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE, Texas

The Denver Broncos do not have a viable receiving tight end on the roster. Their second-year tight end, Greg Dulcich, has not been able to stay on the field, and he was in line for a breakout year. Nagging hamstring injuries have limited his NFL career thus far. The Broncos did bring back Adam Trautman, who is simply just a guy, so a need for a receiving TE is clear, and that's where Ja'Tavion Sanders comes into play, and the Broncos were able to net a second-round pick among more in their trading down.

76th Overall Pick - Michael Hall Jr, DT, Ohio State

Boy, oh boy do the Denver Broncos need some defensive line help. They signed Malcolm Roach this offseason, who is a very strong run-stuffer, but the team simply needs more bodies up front, so with their own pick, they'll draft Michael Hall Jr from Ohio State to help their DL out.

103rd Overall Pick (via NE) - Kris Abrams-Draine, CB, Missouri

Not getting competent CB2 production in the 2023 NFL Season, the Denver Broncos need to add to this unit. Damarri Mathis was a disaster in 2023, and 2023 rookie Riley Moss hardly played. While the Broncos might again bank on a second-year CB making the jump, they better hedge that bet with someone like Kris Abrams-Draine about halfway through the 2024 NFL Draft.

121st Overall Pick - Maason Smith, DT, LSU

Let's make connections here. The Denver Broncos current defensive line coach is Jamar Cain, who held the same role with LSU in 2022, one of the years that Maason Smith was there. The potential marriage between Smith and the Broncos makes a ton of sense, as Smith and Cain could reunite and build on their work two seasons ago in the college ranks.

136th Overall Pick - Jaylen Wright, RB, Tennessee

Jaylen Wright averaged over seven yards per carry in 2023 with the Tennessee Volunteers. Doing this in the SEC is quite impressive, so there is reason to believe he can be an RB1 in the NFL. Well, the Denver Broncos weren't exactly gauging people on the ground in 2023, so they have a huge need to get more consistent RB production.

145th Overall Pick - Tykee Smith, S, Georgia

The Denver Broncos moved on from Justin Simmons earlier this offseason, so continuing to add to the secondary is a wise move, and even though they signed a safety in free agency, why not take a stab at Tykee Smith from Georgia?

147th Overall Pick - Luke McCaffrey, WR, Rice

Do I even need to explain why I drafted a wide receiver named McCaffrey to the Denver Broncos? No, OK, good.

2025 TB 1st
2025 TB 2nd
2025 DET 3rd
2025 KC 3rd
2025 SF 4th

And to cap off this insane 2024 NFL Mock Draft, I was also able to net the Denver Broncos five draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, including two picks in the first and second rounds. Heck, the Broncos need to make me the General Manager.
