There are clearly some teams through two weeks of the 2024 NFL Season that have disappointed greatly. Let's power rank those teams here. Many things can still happen in the rest of the season, but it's clear that through two weeks in 2024, there are some teams who have underwhelmed thus far.

Conversely, there are some teams who have greatly exceeded expectations as well. It'll truly be interesting to see if these teams can keep up their current pace or end up returning back down to earth. And it may be even more interesting to see if some of the more disappointing teams can figure it out as 2024 progresses.

Let's roll out our latest power rankings of the most disappointing teams approaching Week 3 of the 2024 NFL Season.

NFL Power Rankings: Ranking most disappointing teams approaching Week 3
5. New York Jets, 1-1

Through two games, the New York Jets are 1-1, have a negative point differential, and have the 25th-ranked defense in the NFL. Coming into the season, many people did indeed see the Jets as not only an AFC East contender, but one of the better teams in the NFL. The team just looks a bit limp after two weeks, and this is after getting their tails kicked by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 and barely surviving the lowly Tennessee Titans in Week 2.

We'll see if Aaron Rodgers and the offense can figure something out, but Rodgers is 40 years old and is coming off of a major Achilles injury, so he's likely not going to be nearly as mobile as he once was. Nathaniel Hackett is also one of the more shaky offensive minds in the NFL, so that could impact the unit's performance as well.

The Jets also just lost Jermaine Johnson for the rest of the season, and there is still no sight of Haason Reddick, who they essentially gave away Bryce Huff and John Franklin-Myers to get. It's not been a great start for the Jets in 2024.

4. New York Giants, 0-2

I mean, are we all surprised with the New York Giants? I sure as heck am not surprised through two weeks. The most disappointing part of the Giants thus far has been what they did coming into the 2024 NFL Season. They seriously felt like Daniel Jones was the one that was going to quarterback this team, so Giants fans have had to endure year six of the Jones era.

The issues with the Giants fall on the shoulders of GM Joe Schoen, who is surely on his way out the door. The Giants have one of the worst rosters in the NFL, and in the 2024 NFL Draft, somehow passed up on three first-round quarterbacks in order to take the second-best WR in the draft in Malik Nabers.

It's just not been a good period for the G-Men, who are expectedly 0-2 through two games. My fear is that they fire Brian Daboll even though he is far from the problem. There doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel for the Giants.

3. Carolina Panthers, 0-2

Not only are the Carolina Panthers 0-2 thus far, but they've also just benched QB Bryce Young, which is insane. After just 16 starts, Young heads to the bench. The Panthers have gone 2-14 in Young's 16 starts, and to be fair, Young has looked terrible. There is just nothing redeemable about him as an NFL QB thus far, so Andy Dalton is going to get some starts.

The Panthers parted ways with head coach Frank Reich after hiring him that same offseason, and it feels like new head coach Dave Canales could have the same fate unfortunately. It's just not a great scenario for the Panthers, who have cycled through a ton of quarterbacks ever since the departure of Cam Newton.

I am not sure where the Panthers go from here, as Dalton does give them a better chance to win, so they may end up with a lower first-round draft pick if Dalton were to start the rest of the season. What do the Carolina Panthers do?

2. Jacksonville Jaguars, 0-2

Is it time to have a conversation about Trevor Lawrence? Through 52 career starts, the Jacksonville Jaguars are 20-32 and Lawrence has thrown 59 touchdowns against 39 interceptions for a 84.9 passer rating. At some point, we have to arrive somewhere with Lawrence. Some think he is a very good QB who is just stuck in a situation with bad coaching.

He broke out in 2022 with 25 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a passer rating in the mid-90s, but since then, he's thrown 22 touchdowns against 14 interceptions for a 88 rating. Maybe he just is not good as we all thought he was coming out of college? Overall, though, it's also kind of indicative of how the Jags have done this offseason.

They're 0-2 and have suffered two horrible losses against the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns. Head coach Doug Pederson has gone 18-18 in his first 36 games with the team, and there just doesn't seem to be anything more to this current era.

This team is quite talented on paper and have been over the last few seasons. What is wrong with this team? Is it coaching, quarterbacking, or both?

1. Baltimore Ravens, 0-2

Losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City in Week 1 was fine. It was as good of a loss as a team can have, but surrending a fourth-quarter lead at home to the Las Vegas Raiders is just nasty work and a horrible, horrible loss for John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens.

All of a sudden, one of the teams we figured to be among the best in the NFL is now 0-2 on the 2024 season. Lamar Jackson and Harbaugh seem to have hit a ceiling in Baltimore, and I am not sure where this team goes from here. It was pretty obvious that they weren't going to be as good as they were in 2023, given they lost a stud defensive coordinator and multiple starters along the offensive line.

But the Ravens surrendering a fourth-quarter lead and losing is something they have done many times before, so this is a deep internal issue. I'm sure they'll begin to stack some wins together at time point, but it's not looking pretty for the team at the moment.
