If there’s anything that’s about to shake up the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s a potential Myles Garrett trade. Garrett might be 29 years old but he’s still a Defensive Player of the Year candidate and will easily command a minimum of a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Browns shouldn’t settle for anything less than a stellar offer for the best defensive player in franchise history, but this 2025 NFL Mock Draft is going to explore a Myles Garrett trade to an NFC contender who might take over the conference next year if they can pull this move off: The Detroit Lions.
For the purposes of this mock draft, we’re going to say the Lions trade a 1st-round pick in 2025 to the Browns for Garrett, and you can assume they have high future picks in the haul as well. But nothing else in the first two rounds of the 2025 draft. What would the 2025 NFL Draft look like if the Lions traded for Myles Garrett to try and win Super Bowl LX?
2025 NFL Mock Draft: 1st-round predictions with Myles Garrett trade idea
1. Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
It’s a new era for the Tennessee Titans with general manager Mike Borgonzi coming in from the Kansas City Chiefs. If there’s one thing Borgonzi understands, it’s that you’ve got to have a quarterback with some guts who can lead your team in clutch moments. Although he’s not a perfect prospect (who is?), Cam Ward could be the type of guy he wants to build around in Tennessee.
2. Cleveland Browns: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
Myles Garrett out, Abdul Carter in. No pressure or anything, rook. The Browns are in shambles at the moment. They don’t have a franchise quarterback despite investing an unprecedented $230 million in Deshaun Watson, not to mention the king’s ransom of draft picks it took to get him. They’re taking this thing down to the studs in 2025 and I think a Myles Garrett trade is probably for the best.
3. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
The tricky thing with Shedeur Sanders in 2025 NFL mock draft predictions is that you get the sense that it’s a very real thing that he will only play for certain teams. The Browns, for instance, are probably not a realistic option for him. The Giants with Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy, however? This is a spot that Prime might allow his son to play, even with the potential of Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll having one foot out the door.
4. New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
It might feel like a little bit of a reach for the Patriots to take Will Campbell here, but can you really put a price on protecting Drake Maye? The tough part is, you don’t find big-time offensive tackles often available in NFL free agency. You might have to overpay in the NFL Draft a bit and there will be competition for Campbell. Instant starter, even if he’s not the best overal player on the board here.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
The Jacksonville Jaguars hired Liam Coen who has gone viral for his very odd way of saying “Duval.” Despite the viral videos of the new Jags head coach, the expectation is going to be that Coen can really help revive Trevor Lawrence and this Jags offense. How about making the offense even more explosive with one of the best playmakers in the country, and one of the most unique prospects you’ll ever see?
6. Las Vegas Raiders: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss
Here’s a bit of a “reach” in terms of where people have Dart projected, but it’s important to remember that the NFL media train was way off on the projection for Oregon star QB Bo Nix last year, who went 12th overall to the Denver Broncos despite being ranked somewhere in the 20s-40s as an overall prospect by the draft experts. It only takes one team…The Raiders need a QB in the worst way and Dart has skills that could translate well to the next level. We’ll see soon enough just how high NFL teams truly are on him.
7. New York Jets: Mason Graham, DL, Michigan
This has become a mainstay in our 2025 NFL mock drafts. When new Jets general manager Darren Mougey was with the Denver Broncos, his best teams were built well in the trenches. With Aaron Glenn coming in as the head coach, a strong defensive front will be absolutely mandatory. Graham is the type of guy you want to help build your culture the right way.
8. Carolina Panthers: Jalon Walker, EDGE/LB, Georgia
The Carolina Panthers desperately need building blocks for the defensive side of the ball after trading away Brian Burns last offseason. I’m not sure who the current building blocks for this team are on that side of the ball right now, or that the team knows, either. The Panthers need a player like Jalon Walker, who has excelled as an off-ball linebacker and even more so as a pass rusher. He’s a weapon for the defense and can help this Carolina team where they need it most.
9. New Orleans Saints: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
The more I think about it, the more I really like Tyler Warren to the New Orleans Saints. Warren is a jack-of-all-trades at the tight end position who could seamlessly replace both Taysom Hill and Juwan Johnson in the offense with one fell swoop. Hill could be a cap casualty this offseason and Johnson is an unrestricted free agent. Warren isn’t the same level of prospect but Brock Bowers is going to elevate this loaded tight end class.
10. Chicago Bears: Tyler Booker, OL, Alabama
For the first time in a long time, the Bears miss out on Will Campbell in a 2025 NFL mock draft that I’m putting together. No big deal here, they simply pivot to one of the best interior linemen in the class and a player who has been shooting up the experts’ boards lately in Tyler Booker. Booker has the look of a longtime mainstay at the guard position and we know Ben Johnson is going to need a physical group up front.
11. San Francisco 49ers: Jahdae Barron, DB, Texas
The San Francisco 49ers actually have a lot more issues and needs than you might assume based on how good this team has been in recent years. And they have question marks among the long-term staples on top of the roster holes. With Charvarius Ward likely departing this offseason due to a personal matter, the Niners need to reload in the secondary is going to be amplified. Jahdae Barron can play anywhere in the secondary and Robert Saleh can help maximize his talents.
12. Dallas Cowboys: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Just copy and paste every explanation of this mock draft pick. Here’s the reasoning that I’m going with: The Cowboys undoubtedly believe they are going to be better when fully healthy this year. Jerry Jones just watched Saquon Barkley lead the Eagles to an NFC Championship and 2,000 yards rushing. The impact of a running back like Jeanty on this Dallas offense could entice Jones significantly in 2025.
13. Miami Dolphins: Armand Membou, OL, Missouri
The Miami Dolphins benefit greatly in this slot. They can go with the best offensive lineman, defensive tackle, or tight end on their board. I know it’s not the sexiest selection in terms of making headlines, but Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou might be the best overall tackle in this class and he could be a huge help for this Miami team in protecting Tua Tagovailoa going forward.
14. Indianapolis Colts: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
The Indianapolis Colts have a plethora of offensive weapons already with Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, and Josh Downs. Adding a dynamic tight end like Colston Loveland – who might end up being one of the top-10 best players in this class – would be like adding the final Infinity Stone to the Thanos Gauntlet. Loveland is a dynamic weapon in the passing game.
15. Atlanta Falcons: Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia
There are a couple of players who could end up setting all-time records in terms of being projected to the same team in mock draft scenarios this offseason. I’m guessing that Mykel Williams is going to skyrocket as the offseason circuit continues, but him landing with the Falcons has got to be an ideal course of action for Atlanta this offseason. The Falcons need pass rushers, and Mykel Williams can play all over the defensive front.
16. Arizona Cardinals: James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee
Jonathan Gannon is like the meme of Wolverine looking longingly at the picture in the frame watching the Philadelphia Eagles with their plethora of pass rush talent all over the defensive front in Super Bowl LIX. Gannon knows he needs some studs for his pass rush, and I don’t think you could go wrong here with James Pearce, Walter Nolen, Shemar Stewart, Derrick Harmon, or a number of other players. The Cardinals need pressure guys.
17. Cincinnati Bengals: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
The Cincinnati Bengals benefit from one of the most shocking 2025 NFL mock draft falls I’ve seen in some time. It wasn’t that I forgot about Tetairoa McMillan, but you explore one alternate scenario early in the 1st round, and you never know what the butterfly effect is going to be. In this case, it’s the Bengals replacing Tee Higgins with Tetairoa McMillan, and a move that would be very exciting for Joe Burrow.
18. Seattle Seahawks: Kelvin Banks, OT, Texas
The Seattle Seahawks struggled to protect Geno Smith all year long. They need offensive linemen desperately and Kelvin Banks could potentially come in and flip from his left tackle position at Texas to play on the right side for Seattle. In terms of the overall value with this pick, if the Seahawks can land bank in the back end of the top 20 picks overall, that would be a massive steal in round one.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Speaking of massive steals in round one, how about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers landing Will Johnson from Michigan? He was injured this past season but was looking outstanding prior to the injury, and only recently have some concerns about his athletic ceiling started to arise. There were comparisons between Johnson and Pat Surtain II at one point, thanks to Johnson’s size, athleticism, and technical prowess at the position.
20. Denver Broncos: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Everybody knows the Denver Broncos have needs on the offensive side of the ball, especially when you talk about the playmaker positions. Sean Payton even said recently that the “Joker” – an elite receiving weapon at running back or tight end – is the top “must have” for his team in 2025. However, the Broncos also need players at inside linebacker, another need Payton acknowledged. Jihaad Campbell is a stud when attacking the line of scrimmage and Vance Joseph could really weaponize him as the defense’s version of a joker.
21. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan
The Pittsburgh Steelers got Jaxson Dart in my latest three-round 2025 NFL mock draft, but here they settle for another stud in the trenches. You don’t see 330-pound defensive tackles moving like Kenneth Grant can all that often, but they seem to be cranking them out at Michigan these days. Grant is exactly the type of defensive player the Steelers covet and if there’s not a QB they want here, they go with the bread and butter.
22. Los Angeles Chargers: Shemar Stewart, DL, Texas A&M
The Los Angeles Chargers are always going to want to be tough in the trenches under Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh has always emphasized guys with versatility on the defensive line and players like Shemar Stewart with outstanding athletic traits and length. There’s a reason why so many Michigan players in recent years popped up on Bruce Feldman’s annual “Freaks” list. Stewart is cut from that same cloth.
23. Green Bay Packers: Derrick Harmon, DL, Oregon
The Green Bay Packers could go a variety of directions with this pick but we know general manager Brian Gutekunst can’t avoid athletic big men for the defensive side of the ball when they’re staring him in the face. Derrick Harmon was dominant at Michigan State, and he carried that dominance over to Oregon as well. He could help the Packers tremendously on the defensive front.
24. Minnesota Vikings: Walter Nolen, DL, Ole Miss
If there’s one thing we know about this 2025 NFL Draft class, it’s that it’s absolutely stellar on the defensive line. A player like Walter Nolen would likely be among the top two interior defensive linemen in any given class normally, but there are so many guys in this class it’s hard to know where he’ll wind up. And he’s good enough that he could still go somewhere in the top 15 picks. But if the Vikings have a shot at him, this pick is a home run.
25. Houston Texans: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
The season-ending injury to Stefon Diggs already likely had the Houston Texans thinking about pivoting in the 2025 offseason, but the devastating injury suffered recently by Tank Dell has changed their plans entirely. Dell was supposed to be a core player for this Texans team and now, I’m not sure what they plan on getting out of him. Luther Burden has drawn some comparisons to Chris Godwin and Stefon Diggs himself, although those might be lofty. He’d be a nice fit with Houston.
26. Los Angeles Rams: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Rumors of the Los Angeles Rams potentially trading away Cooper Kupp have me wondering if there are some guys in this upcoming NFL Draft class that they really like and feel they can build around. Kupp has been such a dynamic player in the league despite entering the NFL with assumptions being made that he would be a slot only. The same has been true of Emeka Egbuka, who has a very well-rounded skill set and could be a more dynamic player in the NFL than he was even at Ohio State.
27. Baltimore Ravens: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina
The Baltimore Ravens had Tre’Davious White out there playing in big moments this past season. Do you think this team knows it needs to upgrade at the cornerback position? The Ravens would be taking a calculated risk here because Shavon Revel suffered a major injury this past season, but prior to that injury, he looked like he might be a top-15 pick or perhaps the best cornerback in the class. That’s a worthwhile risk at this stage of round one.
28. Cleveland Browns (from Lions): Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
The Cleveland Browns are back on the clock with the selection they acquired in this mock draft scenario from the Cleveland Browns, which would again include future picks and maybe a third-rounder in the 2025 NFL Draft as well. I said before that the Browns have to take this thing down to the studs and I’d be shocked if former first-rounder Jed Wills was back in 2025 and beyond. Josh Simmons is yet another talented player in this draft class coming off of injury, but he wouldn’t have to move far in this scenario and could be a Day 1 starter.
29. Washington Commanders: Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
The Washington Commanders are said to be one of the top teams that could potentially try to strike a deal for Myles Garrett if the Browns make him available. While that would be fun given this team’s rapid ascent this past season, that scenario will have to wait for another 2025 NFL mock draft. For the time being, the Commanders “settle” for arguably the best pass rusher in all of college football this season in Marshall’s Mike Green, who can provide some much-needed juice off the edge.
30. Buffalo Bills: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina
The name “Derwin James” has been thrown out there in regards to South Carolina’s star safety Nick Emmanwori, and he might end up pricing himself way out of Buffalo’s range at pick 30 overall if he shows well at the Scouting Combine and pro day workouts. Emmanwori has great size, range, instincts, and playmaking ability. He could be another equalizer against Mahomes and the Chiefs in the Bills’s seemingly futile quest to outlast Kansas City in January and February.
31. Philadelphia Eagles: Donovan Jackson, IOL, Ohio State
The Philadelphia Eagles were already dealing with the departure of Jason Kelce this past offseason, and late in the year they’ve had to deal with some major injuries to key players on the offensive line. I don’t think Howie Roseman is going to pass on the chance to upgrade the interior line in the 2025 NFL Draft where there are a lot of quality players near the top of the board. Donovan Jackson is a Day 1 starter at either guard or center.
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
The Kansas City Chiefs could go with any number of players here, they just need a left tackle. Preferably, someone who is cost-controlled, right? The issues the Chiefs have had in finding stable, consistent help at the left tackle position are honestly baffling. They need to find someone to help keep Patrick Mahomes clean as he now enters his 30s going into the 2025 season.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Full 2nd-round predictions
33. Cleveland Browns: Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama
34. New York Giants: Azaraye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State
35. Tennessee Titans: Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College
36. Jacksonville Jaguars: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
37. Las Vegas Raiders: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
38. New England Patriots: Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State
39. Chicago Bears: Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
40. New Orleans Saints: Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford
41. Chicago Bears: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
42. New York Jets: Cameron Williams, OT, Texas
43. San Francisco 49ers: Marcus Mbow, OL, Purdue
44. Dallas Cowboys: Deone Walker, DL, Kentucky
45. Indianapolis Colts: Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
46. Atlanta Falcons: Joshua Farmer, DL, Florida State
47. Arizona Cardinals: Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA
48. Miami Dolphins: Tyleik Williams, DL, Ohio State
49. Cincinnati Bengals: Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M
50. Seattle Seahawks: Grey Zabel, OL, North Dakota State
51. Denver Broncos: TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
52. Pittsburgh Steelers: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State
53. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss
54. Green Bay Packers: Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky
55. Los Angeles Chargers: Mason Taylor, TE, LSU
56. Buffalo Bills: TJ Sanders, DL, South Carolina
57. Carolina Panthers: Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss
58. Houston Texans: Jonah Savaiinaea, OL, Arizona
59. Baltimore Ravens: Landon Jackson, EDGE/DL, Arkansas
60. Detroit Lions: Wyatt Milum, OL, West Virginia
61. Washington Commanders: Emery Jones Jr., OT, LSU
62. Buffalo Bills: Kyle Kennard, EDGE, South Carolina
63. Philadelphia Eagles: JT Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State
64. Kansas City Chiefs: Alfred Collins, DL, Texas
The Cleveland Browns once again start off the top of this second round with Jalen Milroe as a very intriguing dart throw at the quarterback position. Milroe is not without flaw and needs time to develop, but what do the Browns have in abundance at this point if not time?
Milroe could be an intriguing option there and someone who could grow with a bridge starter in front of him, perhaps.
I love the value some teams are getting in the second round at the offensive skill positions as well. You look at the Raiders landing Matthew Golden to pair with new quarterback Jaxson Dart as well as the Saints doubling up on playmakers for Kellen Moore to work with, getting Tyler Warren in round one and Elic Ayomanor in round two. That team could be back in business quickly.
We see a couple of back-to-back Ohio State running backs late in the second round with TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins to the Broncos and Steelers respectively. Those two teams have former high draft picks (Javonte Williams, Najee Harris) hitting free agency in 2025.
