Believe it or not, over one-third of the league has never won a Super Bowl. As much competition as it seems like there is in the NFL right now, the reality of the situation is that things are typically dominated by a few franchises, for the most part.

As we progress through the offseason here in 2026, the teams that have never won a Super Bowl are all surely looking to erase that unflattering mark from their team's history, and there are some teams in this ranking that do have a rock-solid chance of winning it all this year.

We have taken a series of fun angles with our NFL power rankings this offseason, so let's do another one and rank the 12 teams for 2026 that have never won a Super Bowl.

NFL Power Rankings 2026: Ranking franchises that have never won a Super Bowl

12. Arizona Cardinals

Is there a franchise in the NFL right now that has it worse than the Arizona Cardinals? The answer is probably no. The Cardinals project to be among the worst teams in the NFL, and being buried in the NFC West is further insult to that injury.

With no franchise quarterback in sight, either, the Cardinals could remain among the worst for years to come.

11. Cleveland Browns

If nothing else, the Cleveland Browns do appear to have a solid defense, but unless Deshaun Watson throws it back to his Houston Texans days, the Browns may struggle to reach the 5-win mark in 2026.

10. Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward really came on nicely near the end of his rookie season last year, so he could make a year two leap, but the roster still isn't there yet, and there's also no guarantee that Ward makes a jump, either. The Titans have a long ways to go, but there is light at the end of tunnel.

9. Atlanta Falcons

You can see a path for the Atlanta Falcons to win some games in the 2026 season, but it's a slim path. Tua Tagovailoa would likely have to win the starting quarterback job and actually play like he did during his 'prime' days with the Miami Dolphins.

However, Michael Penix Jr. winning the job and breaking out in year three could also be a realistic scenario, too. Either way, it seems like both quarterbacks have a ceiling that may cap this team as a Wild Card squad, at best.

The roster talent is good enough to get into the playoffs, but the Falcons appear to be weakest where it matters the most.

8. Carolina Panthers

Winning the NFC South with just an 8-9 record in 2025, the Carolina Panthers are every bit of a pretender as it gets in the NFL. Quarterback Bryce Young played the best football of his career in 2025, but was still largely mediocre. On paper, the Panthers can be a fun team, but unless Young takes a significant step in the right direction, this team won't get anywhere in the 2026 season and absolutely won't again win the NFC South with 8 wins.

7. Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings quietly won 9 games in the 2025 NFL Season, and also upgraded at quarterback with Kyler Murray. In theory, this team should be able to hit 10 wins, but the NFL isn't that forgiving in many instances.

Being in the loaded NFC North is going to force the Vikings to really reach their full potential in a major year for the coaching staff and even Murray himself. The Vikings can be every bit of a good team, but it's unclear how this team could potentially hit greatness in 2026.

A Super Bowl this season feens unlikely.

6. Los Angeles Chargers

We're now hitting a tier of teams that absolutely could win it all in 2026 if things fall their way. The Los Angeles Chargers have gone 11-6 in each of the past two seasons, losing in the Wild Card Round both years. There is a clear ceiling with this team at the moment, but the offensive line even being slightly better could fix things.

You do wonder about the defense without Jesse Minter, but the Chargers still feel like a double-digit win team. Head coach Jim Harbaugh also wins wherever he goes, so there's a level of stability that he brings.

5. Cincinnati Bengals

A major overhaul of the defense this offseason could have the Cincinnati Bengals back in the playoffs for the first time since 2022. The Bengals have made the playoffs just twice in the Joe Burrow era, but they made the Super Bowl and the conference title game in each year, so if Cincy gets in, there's a good chance they go far.

And it really boils down to the defense at least being average, and Burrow himself being able to stay on the field for a full season, which he has struggled with at times.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars

Shocking the world in 2025, the Jacksonville Jaguars won 13 games and the AFC South title, but the team right on their heels definitely added more talent this offseason, so the Jags come in just one spot lower than expected.

Trevor Lawrence played his tail off down the stretch, and it really seems like Liam Coen is a special head coach. On paper, the Jags don't have a Super Bowl team, but another offseason of adding talent could have this team ready to hit that tier in 2027, for example.

Losing Devin Lloyd and Travis Etienne this offseason is also going to hurt.

3. Houston Texans

You could truly rank Houston, Detroit, and Buffalo in any order here, and I would not argue with you. Of these three teams, the Texans have the weakest quarterback, as CJ Stroud has looked rather average the past two seasons after a historically good rookie season in 2023.

Outside of quarterback, though, the Texans might just have the best roster in the league, which could make this team one of the biggest 'what ifs' of the 2026 season. If Stroud is again average, the Texans will again lose in the playoffs, but if he can throw it back to that ridiculous rookie season, the offense should be top-10, and the defense, which may be the best in the league, would likely be even better.

Houston is capable of winning it all this year.

2. Detroit Lions

Detroit won just 9 games in 2025 after a breakout 15-win season in 2024. The Lions defense was the main culprit, but injuries plagued the team all year. We did see Detroit advance to the NFC Championship Game back in 2023, so the team has flirted with a Super Bowl berth recently.

As long as this defense can get itself figured out, which might be easier said than done, Detroit should, once again, emerge as a top team in the NFL and return to the top of the NFC North. The roster has little, if any, holes, and is a contending group.

1. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo again fell short in the playoffs, losing to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round in 2026. Having made it to the AFC Championship Game multiple times in the Josh Allen era, the Bills have found a ton of success, but are also running out of time.

And this team simply might not be capable of getting over the hump, but the amount of consistent success this team has had for years now lands them atop our latest NFL power rankings.
