Players around the league are reporting for training camp. The 2024 NFL season is here. Our latest NFL power rankings are going to explore every NFL team’s biggest offseason addition and every team’s biggest offseason loss. How much do these additions and losses change the overall outlook for each team this season?
Training camp is here. Games will not be far behind (preseason games, but still). Football is in the air. As we’ve had time now to chew on, digest, chew on some more, and digest some more all that has happened this offseason, let’s arbitrarily rank every team again before the start of camp.
2024 NFL Power Rankings: Steelers creeping up before training camp
32. Carolina Panthers
Biggest offseason addition: Head coach Dave Canales
Biggest offseason loss: EDGE Brian Burns
This season for the Carolina Panthers has very little to do with shocking the world and finding a way to go and win the NFC South. That would be a pleasant byproduct of the actual mission, which is to get quarterback Bryce Young on track. The Panthers certainly believe they’ve got the man do to the job with Dave Canales coming in as the NFL’s latest QB whisperer.
Canales worked miracles in Seattle and Tampa Bay with the resurrection of both Geno Smith’s and Baker Mayfield’s NFL career. Can he get Young on the right track?
The Panthers traded Brian Burns to the New York Giants this offseason, taking away Ejiro Evero’s top pass rush threat off the edge. This Panthers roster is a couple of injuries away from being miserable to watch on a weekly basis.
31. Washington Commanders
Biggest offseason addition: QB Jayden Daniels
Biggest offseason loss: CB Kendall Fuller
It’s tough to narrow the biggest offseason addition for the Washington Commanders down to just one. Is it head coach Dan Quinn? General manager Adam Peters? The return of the gold pants?
Ultimately, there’s no topping the quarterback position in the NFL. Getting Jayden Daniels has reignited some hope for the Washington franchise but they are 100 percent a work in progress. When you look at a side-by-side of the 2023 depth chart and the 2024 depth chart, it’s rare for NFL teams to take on that much change and simply be competitive overnight.
Dan Quinn should have this new-look Commanders defense playing hard, but this team needs to do more revamping on the offensive line and off the edge defensively before they are going to be even a Wild Card threat, in my opinion.
30. Las Vegas Raiders
Biggest offseason addition: TE Brock Bowers
Biggest offseason loss: RB Josh Jacobs
Raiders fans seem to like to diminish the loss of running back Josh Jacobs, and maybe they’re right. The guy was an All-Pro in 2022, so it can’t be that small of a loss. The Raiders seem to be moving forward with year two of the Aidan O’Connell era, and O’Connell (or Gardner Minshew) will need a big year out of Zamir White with Jacobs departed to the Packers.
At this point, it’s tough to know what the Raiders are going to be in 2024. It seems like Davante Adams is making it known that he wants to go and play with Aaron Rodgers, but he also openly campaigned for the team to hire Antonio Pierce as the full-time head coach. The success of the Raiders this year hinges on O’Connell taking a step forward and I don’t know that we’re going to see that.
29. New England Patriots
Biggest offseason addition: Drake Maye
Biggest offseason loss: Head coach Bill Belichick
Bill Belichick is going to be spending at least this year away from football, and he’s been in the news for some interesting reasons. Regardless of what Belichick is doing off the field, he’s no longer a member of the Patriots’ organization. The Patriots had their succession plan in place from Belichick to Jerod Mayo, and Mayo went out and hired Alex Van Pelt to come in and call the offense. That new-look Patriots offense now features Drake Maye, the first-round quarterback and ultra-talented prospect out of North Carolina.
It could be a waiting game for Maye this season as Jacoby Brissett seems to be the Patriots’ favorite to start Week 1. At some point this season, we’ll see Maye get some playing time but the Patriots could be sneaky with their continuity defensively. If Brissett can play relatively mistake-free football, this team could be better than expected.
28. Tennessee Titans
Biggest offseason addition: CB L'Jarius Sneed
Biggest offseason loss: RB Derrick Henry
The Tennessee Titans have had a weird offseason, let’s just call it what it is. They have made a lot of “win now” types of moves, going after big-money free agent receiver Calvin Ridley (who is going to be 30 this year), trading for L’Jarius Sneed, signing Tyler Boyd, signing Tony Pollard, and recently adding veteran safety Jamal Adams to the roster.
On the other hand, they fired longtime head coach Mike Vrabel, the former NFL Coach of the Year. They let Derrick Henry walk in free agency. They hired a rookie head coach in Brian Callahan.
What are we supposed to expect of this team? It’s a weird cocktail of veterans who should be on a clear contender and young players and coaches who are complete unknowns.
27. Seattle Seahawks
Biggest offseason addition: DL Byron Murphy
Biggest offseason loss: Head coach Pete Carroll
As exciting as it is to see Mike Macdonald get an opportunity to come in and be a head coach somewhere, the loss of Pete Carroll looms large over this Seattle Seahawks franchise. How much was Carroll raising all boats in the harbor over the last handful of years?
We’re fixing to find out.
The Seahawks desperately needed to address the defensive front this offseason, and they did that by adding Byron Murphy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. There’s also an interesting situation developing offensively with the addition of young quarterback Sam Howell, who was acquired by the Seahawks in a trade with the Commanders this year.
26. New York Giants
Biggest offseason addition: WR Malik Nabers
Biggest offseason loss: RB Saquon Barkley
I have to start off the New York Giants blurb by saying a couple of things.
First of all, seeing the Giants working and operating behind the scenes in the offseason version of HBO’s Hard Knocks has been absolutely outstanding. It’s must-see TV and worth the subscription to MAX alone, but you can also watch all of the extended versions of Lord of the Rings on MAX, so it was already worth it.
Second, this is probably the longest Giants fans have had to wait to read a blurb about their team in my offseason rankings. I must have been in a really generous mood.
Daniel Jones is on the comeback trail right now and seeing the construction of the Giants’ defense leads me to believe that maybe the floor of this team is raised a bit more than I’m anticipating. Of course, having two turnover merchants at quarterback lowers the floor, but with Malik Nabers coming in, the Giants have an actual WR1 on the roster and I could see this defense helping the team overachieve.
25. Minnesota Vikings
Biggest offseason addition: QB JJ McCarthy
Biggest offseason loss: QB Kirk Cousins
The Minnesota Vikings are going to be one of the NFL’s biggest wild card teams in the 2024 season. I’m not saying they’re guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, but I’m saying I don’t have a clue right now what to expect from them.
Offensively, the Vikings have a situation that should be ideal for any quarterback to step into. Losing Kirk Cousins has been seemingly blown off as not that big of a deal, and part of the reason for that is the way we saw the Vikings play last year at times without him. But Sam Darnold being this team’s starter complicates the Vikings’ projection.
It’s also fair to say the Vikings lost their best defensive player this offseason (Danielle Hunter) and we need to see how the combination of Jonathan Greenard and Dallas Turner can replace his production.
24. Arizona Cardinals
Biggest offseason addition: WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Biggest offseason loss: WR Rondale Moore
The Arizona Cardinals got a lot better in the 2024 offseason, and in a variety of ways.
Arizona made arguably the best non-quarterback addition of any team offensively with the drafting of Marvin Harrison Jr. in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Getting Kyler Murray another season removed from his major knee injury and upgrading the roster through free agency and the NFL Draft has this Arizona team poised to potentially surprise some folks in 2024.
The Cardinals played really well last year in their first year under Jonathan Gannon, so it’s going to be fun to see what this team can do with upgraded talent across the board and a fully healthy Murray at quarterback.
23. New Orleans Saints
Biggest offseason addition: OL Taliese Fuaga
Biggest offseason loss: OT Ryan Ramczyk (injury)
There are two sides of the coin with the New Orleans Saints. As much as you want to look at last year and say this team was a top-10 team in terms of scoring offense and scoring defense, it didn’t feel like that when you were watching them play.
The Saints went on a little run late in the season and beat up on some bad teams. It’s not their fault for playing the cards they were dealt, but I think it also gave us a little bit of fool’s gold when it comes to projecting them for 2024.
It feels like Dennis Allen is on the proverbial head coach hot seat. The Saints won’t likely have Ryan Ramczyk this year after a setback in his recovery from knee surgery. The core of this Saints team is getting older. This team could be poised for a new head coach and roster reset in 2025.
22. Indianapolis Colts
Biggest offseason addition: EDGE Laiatu Latu
Biggest offseason loss: QB Gardner Minshew
The theme of the 2024 offseason for the Indianapolis Colts was “continuity” as the franchise prioritized taking care of its own guys, and on both sides of the ball.
The Colts will be a really fun team to watch so long as Anthony Richardson is healthy. We saw how fun this offense could be with Richardson running it early last year, and even though the Colts won nine games, we were robbed when Richardson went down with a season-ending injury.
Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen were comfortable letting last year’s primary starter – Gardner Minshew – walk in free agency (Raiders) and bringing in grizzled veteran Joe Flacco, who couldn’t be more different than Richardson from a playing style perspective.
I like the continuity with the Colts, and I think they have big-time potential this coming season to make some noise.
21. Atlanta Falcons
Biggest offseason addition: QB Kirk Cousins
Biggest offseason loss: DL Calais Campbell, EDGE Bud Dupree
Even more than just the departures on the defensive front, maybe the biggest “loss” for the Atlanta Falcons this offseason was just the way they approached the whole offseason. The way they went about the 2024 NFL Draft and taking Michael Penix Jr. with the 8th overall pick made it feel like they were having buyer’s remorse about signing Kirk Cousins coming off of major injury.
Our friends at Blogging Dirty put the approach of addressing the defensive front this way:
"The Atlanta Falcons lost Bud Dupree and Calais Campbell this offseason. Their only addition is third-round rookie Bralen Trice. This was for a pass rush that was one of the worst in the league. It has consistently been a weak spot for the Falcons and continues to get ignored.Blogging Dirty
Whether or not the team attempted moves at the position is beside the point. Being unable to land the plane on adding one impact pass rusher while spending a first-round pick on a backup quarterback is a failure."
20. Los Angeles Chargers
Biggest offseason addition: Head coach Jim Harbaugh
Biggest offseason loss: WRs Keenan Allen, Mike Williams
The Los Angeles Chargers bandwagon is welcoming a bunch of football media people once again. The arrival of head coach Jim Harbaugh in combination with Justin Herbert has football pundits convinced that it’s only a matter of time now before the Chargers figure things out.
This team has become known for collapsing late in the season or in the playoffs, and the lack of team success for the Chargers with Herbert under center is why we’ve seen this franchise go out of character and spend the big bucks to get Jim Harbaugh out of Michigan and back into the NFL.
Herbert won’t have his former top targets in Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, nor will he have Austin Ekeler out there. We’ll see how quickly Jim Harbaugh can right the ship.
19. Chicago Bears
Biggest offseason addition: QB Caleb Williams
Biggest offseason loss: QB Justin Fields
After passing on the opportunity to take CJ Stroud with the #1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears got a rare mulligan in 2024 thanks to the Carolina Panthers. The Bears’ blockbuster trade with Carolina in 2023 paid dividends in 2024 as Chicago wound up with the #1 overall pick and quarterback Caleb Williams.
The Caleb Williams era has Bears fans absolutely thrilled about the team’s potential this season and the long-term future of the organization, but the reason to be excited about this season in Chicago might be that Bears defense. General manager Ryan Poles has done a great job of assembling talent on that side of the ball and the Bears look ready to at least make some louder noise in the NFC North this season.
18. Denver Broncos
Biggest offseason addition: QB Bo Nix
Biggest offseason loss: QB Russell Wilson
The Denver Broncos’ offseason might be best compared to the scene in The Polar Express when the train hits the ice. If you know, you know. The train conductor knows there are tracks on the other side, and getting across the ice is necessary to get to the final destination.
But everyone on the train thinks they’re going to die.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton put his stamp on the organization last year by taking a dreadful five-win team to eight wins and one game out of first place in the AFC West into December. Now, he’s got a franchise quarterback that he selected – Bo Nix – who also just so happens to be the first-ever first-round pick Payton has ever drafted at QB.
The Broncos aren’t everyone’s favorite flavor of the offseason, but the Polar Express is going to find the tracks on the other side of the ice. Just watch.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars
Biggest offseason addition: Defensive Coordinator Ryan Nielsen
Biggest offseason loss: WR Calvin Ridley
Everybody is still upset at the Jacksonville Jaguars for the way they made us all look bad for believing in them last season.
Shame on you guys. They’re making it up to all of us by bringing back their 90s throwback uniforms this year, which as of the time of this post being written, have yet to be unveiled by the team.
What’s going on there?
At any rate, the biggest win for the Jaguars this offseason was the addition of former Saints assistant coach and Falcons defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen. Nielsen should be an instant upgrade for the Jaguars in terms of calling the defense, and the Jaguars upgraded personnel on both sides of the ball.
If this team can stay healthy, they’re going to challenge the Texans in the AFC South.
16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Biggest offseason addition: OL Graham Barton
Biggest offseason loss: Offensive coordinator Dave Canales
The 2024 offseason was about continuity for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and rightfully so. In the first year of the post-Tom Brady era, the Buccaneers won the NFC South and wound up beating the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs. Baker Mayfield experienced a career resurgence and was rewarded with a $100 million contract from the Bucs.
The only asterisk next to what has otherwise been a tremendous offseason for the Buccaneers is the loss of offensive coordinator Dave Canales. Canales obviously played a huge role in Mayfield’s return to prominence just as he did previously with Geno Smith and the Seahawks. The Bucs tried to keep some form of continuity for Mayfield by bringing in Liam Coen, who worked with Mayfield in Los Angeles for a brief time, but we’re in a wait-and-see mode with this team.
I still think this is one of the best rosters in the league top to bottom.
15. Cleveland Browns
Biggest offseason addition: WR Jerry Jeudy
Biggest offseason loss: QB Joe Flacco
The Cleveland Browns have a loaded roster on both sides of the ball. They have enviable depth on the defensive front and one of the best overall defensive units in the league.
The one thing I can’t get past with this Browns team is Deshaun Watson. If Watson was even a top-16 quarterback in the league right now, I would probably put this Browns team no lower than 8th overall. The problem is, Watson hasn’t been that good of a quarterback since 2020. Even when he played in 2020, the Texans were terrible.
Watson has appeared in 12 games since 2020. He’s going to be the reason this Browns team either contends or is a massive disappointment. We saw Joe Flacco lead this team to the playoffs down the stretch last season but the Browns need a return on the Watson investment STAT.
14. New York Jets
Biggest offseason addition: OL Tyron Smith, Olu Fashanu
Biggest offseason loss: DL John Franklin-Myers, EDGE Bryce Huff
Is anybody else out there a massive skeptic of the Aaron Rodgers-led Jets right now? It seems like every offseason list I open, the Jets are in the top five for most analysts and pundits. Whether we’re talking about offseason power rankings, roster rankings, or teams that could contend, everyone out there is higher on the Jets than I am.
And there are reasons to be very high on the Jets. That defense is outstanding, and the Jets have been tough even with struggles at the QB position. But what is this team getting out of Aaron Rodgers this year? Rodgers, in his final year with the Packers, wasn’t playing at the same elite level we’ve seen from him. His QB rating (still a very solid 91.1) was the lowest of his NFL career as a starter. He threw an uncharacteristic 12 interceptions.
Are we supposed to believe the Jets are getting a vintage Aaron Rodgers despite the fact that he’s coming off of a major injury, and despite the fact there have already been issues at Jets OTAs and mandatory minicamp?
13. Pittsburgh Steelers
Biggest offseason addition: QB Russell Wilson
Biggest offseason loss: WR Diontae Johnson
This is the highest I’ve been on the Steelers all offseason. And literally nothing has changed, I just think I’ve been talking myself into this team all offseason.
Think about it from this perspective. The Steelers won 10 games with an ugly Frankenstein of a quarterback position last year. They were patchwork at that position at best between Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph, and they won 10 games. 10 games.
The Steelers probably viewed the Denver Broncos releasing Russell Wilson as a gift from the football gods, even though Wilson’s time in Denver rightfully came to a premature end. There’s no way Wilson is going to be worse than Kenny Pickett, right?
The Steelers have a playoff-ready defense and hopefully have upgraded at quarterback. There are certainly question marks with this team, but even if they are squeaking by 19-17, this team should be in the mix every week with that defense.
12. Los Angeles Rams
Biggest offseason addition: EDGE Jared Verse
Biggest offseason loss: DL Aaron Donald
Are we downplaying the retirement of Aaron Donald too much? Maybe. The loss of Aaron Donald is the lone dark cloud hanging over this Los Angeles Rams team, which has otherwise successfully been rebuilt since winning the Super Bowl just a few short years ago.
General manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay have abandoned the “F*** Them Picks” mentality and have been able to bounce back as a franchise thanks to excellent drafting. We’ve even seen the Rams make a triumphant return to the first round of the NFL Draft, taking pass rusher Jared Verse in the 1st round this year.
This Rams roster appears to be on an extremely positive trajectory, but the retirement of Donald could knock them back a notch, as well as the health of quarterback Matthew Stafford.
11. Buffalo Bills
Biggest offseason addition: WR Keon Coleman
Biggest offseason loss: WR Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis
The 2024 offseason for the Buffalo Bills is really being defined by the losses this team is having to sustain. Both offensively and defensively, the Bills are going to look a lot different this year.
Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis are both gone. Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans and Davis signed with the Jaguars in NFL free agency. The longtime starting safety duo of Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde? Also gone.
It’s going to look a lot different in Buffalo this year but every team has to reset the roster eventually. The question going into this season is going to be whether or not Josh Allen can be the tide to raise all boats in the harbor with those major departures. The Bills are certainly paying him to do exactly that.
Even with all of the losses, this team will expect to contend in 2024.
10. Dallas Cowboys
Biggest offseason addition: Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer
Biggest offseason loss: Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn
When the Dallas Cowboys originally hired Dan Quinn, it was transformative for the entire defense. Quinn took that unit from one of the worst in the NFL to one of the best overnight. Of course, the addition of a player like Micah Parsons helped, but Quinn put his stamp on the Cowboys quickly after being hired, and had one of the top defenses in the NFL over the last few seasons.
The Cowboys have lost a lot this offseason with Tyron Smith and Tony Pollard leaving in free agency, as well as a host of defensive players that followed Quinn to his new gig with the Washington Commanders. But as long as Dak Prescott is under center, the expectation for the Cowboys is going to be to compete in the NFC.
Maybe after underachieving the last couple of years, the Cowboys will be able to do more with less in 2024.
9. Houston Texans
Biggest offseason addition: WR Stefon Diggs, EDGE Danielle Hunter
Biggest offseason loss: EDGE Jonathan Greenard
The Houston Texans are primed for a big year. Everybody is anticipating it, and when you look at the roster on both sides of the ball, it’s hard to find any areas of real weakness.
As long as CJ Stroud stays healthy, this team is going to be a new force in the AFC. And even if the offense does struggle a bit, DeMeco Ryans is going to have that defense playing at a high level especially with some of the additions this team has made in 2024.
Danielle Hunter off the edge opposite Will Anderson Jr is going to give opposing quarterbacks and offensive coordinators absolute nightmares. Adding Kamari Lassiter in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft as well as bringing in former first-round picks Jeff Okudah and CJ Henderson gives this team enviable depth and talent in the secondary.
The Texans are loaded. How quickly can they put it all together?
8. Miami Dolphins
Biggest offseason addition: DBs Kendall Fuller, Jordan Poyer
Biggest offseason loss: CB Xavien Howard, DC Vic Fangio
As the temperatures decreased late last season, the Dolphins also went ice cold.
A team that scored 70 points in a game last season bounced out of the playoffs scoring just 7. The Dolphins deteriorated down the stretch last season for more reasons than just the declining temperature in road games. They suffered major injuries defensively and simply couldn’t overcome them. One of the most explosive offenses in the league scored more than 20 points just one time in the team’s final four games.
The Dolphins have substantially reloaded defensively but they’re going to have to adjust after Vic Fangio was poached by the Eagles. This is a pivotal year for Mike McDaniel as the head coach of this team. He’s not going to get a more loaded roster than this. Everyone needs to stay healthy.
7. Green Bay Packers
Biggest offseason addition: SAF Xavier McKinney
Biggest offseason loss: RB Aaron Jones
The Jordan Love era got off to a great start last year as Love finished his first season as the full-time starter 2nd in the NFL in passing touchdowns behind only Dak Prescott of the Cowboys. Love did a tremendous job of running Matt LaFleur’s offense, but more than that, he made great decisions when he had to be a playmaker.
The Packers almost went on the road in the playoffs and upset the 49ers. This is one of the best young rosters in the league and Green Bay got a lot better this offseason with another strong draft class and big-money free agent additions like safety Xavier McKinney and running back Josh Jacobs.
6. Philadelphia Eagles
Biggest offseason addition: Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio
Biggest offseason loss: DL Fletcher Cox, C Jason Kelce
The Philadelphia Eagles’ roster is so loaded that nobody has really taken the time to think just how much of the foundation was removed this offseason with the retirement of both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox.
I’ll be the first to admit, I haven’t seen the forest through the trees there. I’ve been so focused on the addition of Vic Fangio as this team’s defensive coordinator and him raising all boats on that side of the ball that I have forgotten just how massive those losses on both sides of the line of scrimmage could end up being.
I do still think the Eagles are going to be one of the best teams in the NFC and NFL as a whole, but if this team struggles in 2024, we’ll likely be able to point to this team losing two crucial, elite pieces in the trenches on both sides of the ball as reasons why.
5. Cincinnati Bengals
Biggest offseason addition: OTs Amarius Mims, Trent Brown
Biggest offseason loss: DL DJ Reader
The Bengals’ biggest offseason acquisitions in 2024 literally made the team bigger. Amarius Mims and Trent Brown joining an offensive line that already included Orlando Brown Jr.? This would be terrifying to go up against.
The Bengals also brought in Sheldon Rankins to fortify the defensive line after the loss of DJ Reader, who bolted in free agency for the Detroit Lions.
The majority of the attention for this team in the 2024 offseason has been paid to the upset players. Wide receiver Tee Higgins and defensive end Trey Hendrickson both wanted trades at one point this offseason, but there was no way the Bengals were going to compromise their current competitive window just to acquiesce those requests. This might be “the last dance” for this particular crew, but this is an elite roster.
4. Baltimore Ravens
Biggest offseason addition: RB Derrick Henry
Biggest offseason loss: Defensive Coordinator Mike Macdonald
The Baltimore Ravens are loaded for another run this year in the AFC, and this time, they’ve got Derrick Henry to help them close the deal come time for January football.
The Ravens should have put up a much better fight last season against the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason, but the Chiefs weren’t going to be denied winning back-to-back Super Bowls. Baltimore simply got in their way.
But how can they get in their way better in 2024? The Ravens desperately need to capitalize on the window they’re currently in. This team is too good to be only scoring 10 points at home hosting the AFC Championship game. Inexcusable.
3. Detroit Lions
Biggest offseason addition: DL DJ Reader, secondary pickups
Biggest offseason loss: OL Jonah Jackson
There is nothing about the Detroit Lions’ offseason in 2024 that I don’t like. They did lose players like offensive lineman Jonah Jackson and wide receiver Josh Reynolds, but new players will step up into the roles those players vacated and the Lions will be firing on all cylinders offensively with coordinator Ben Johnson returning despite so many head coach rumors and even desire from other teams.
The biggest question for this Lions team going into the offseason was what they would do to address their holes defensively. They brought in DJ Reader from the Bengals, a massive addition on the interior defensive line. They also went out and made substantial upgrades to the secondary, landing Carlton Davis in a trade with the Bucs as well as using first- and second-round picks on Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw.
The Lions are ready to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
2. San Francisco 49ers
Biggest offseason addition: CB Isaac Yiadom
Biggest offseason loss: DL Arik Armstead
Watching the San Francisco 49ers in the Receiver show on Netflix, it’s still tough to believe this team didn’t win it all last year. The Chiefs really were the team of “destiny”. When is destiny going to favor the 49ers?
What aspect of this team is flawed?
The 49ers are perfectly built from top to bottom. They are one of the most well-run organizations in the NFL with elite scouting, coaching, and player personnel. This team is loaded and will once again make a run this year in the NFC. But can Kyle Shanahan and company finally close the deal?
If not now, then when?
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Biggest offseason addition: WRs Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy
Biggest offseason loss: CB L'Jarius Sneed
Can we pencil the Chiefs in to host the AFC Championship game again this year? Most likely. Should we pencil them in as the AFC representative in the Super Bowl?
That just feels more likely than not.
The Chiefs feel inevitable even after a “down” year last year. Keep in mind, this team did have a bit of a down year in 2023, especially offensively. The Chiefs’ defense had to carry this team through some rough patches offensively, but the offense turned it up in the playoffs.
As you would expect from Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs have now added an abundance of speed at receiver with first-round pick Xavier Worthy coming in as well as former first-round pick Hollywood Brown. Defensively, how do the Chiefs move forward without L’Jarius Sneed, their best player outside of Chris Jones?
It almost doesn’t even matter. This team is inevitable.
