The Las Vegas Raiders are firmly in the cellar in the AFC West, but could this mock draft help them make some legitimate progress? The team hired Pete Carroll to be their new head coach, which is a great move, but Carroll does not solve all of their issues - this team needs a franchise QB and simply more talent overall.
The Raiders are probably doing a ton of homework on all the potential QB options as we speak, and they will probably land on a short-term veteran option or a QB picked high in the 2025 NFL Draft. Until Vegas figures out their QB situation and gets their feet under them, they will continue to be among the worst teams in the NFL.
Could this 2025 NFL Mock Draft help the Las Vegas Raiders get out of the cellar?
Raiders 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Team stacks insane talent in a brand-new era
6. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
With the sixth overall pick, the Las Vegas Raiders take Shedeur Sanders, the controversial QB from Colorado. It seems to be that some people are turned off by his personality or could also think that he simply isn't a franchise QB.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but given that the QB class is quite weak, a prospect like Sanders is going to go a lot higher than he would have had he been in the 2024 NFL Draft class.
The Raiders will probably have already signed a veteran QB option for a year in the event that they draft Shedeur Sanders.
37. Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State
Tyleik Williams is one of the best defensive tackle prospects in a very deep DT class, so he could come in and create one of the top DLs in the NFL alongside Maxx Crosby, who just signed a major extension, and Christian Wilkins, their big-time free agency signing from last offseason.
The Raiders getting stronger in the trenches should not be a shock seeing as Pete Carroll is their head coach. So far, the Raiders are off to a great start in this NFL Mock Draft.
68. TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
TreVeyon Henderson could have heard his name called a lot earlier than this, but he was available here at pick 68 in the 2025 NFL Draft, so the Las Vegas Raiders jumped on the opportunity. Henderson is a true dual-threat running back and is going to provide a much-needed boost to the backfield.
The Raiders did field one of the worst run games in the NFL in 2024, so I would not be shocked if we also saw a FA addition at running back as well.
73. Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas
Tre'von Moehrig could end up leaving in free agency, so the Raiders would need more help at the safety position. I went with Andrew Mukuba from Texas here with the 73rd pick in this NFL Mock Draft. Pete Carroll loves playing sound defense and running the ball, so this mock draft thus far is really on brand for that style of football.
So far, so good, right?
107. Ashton Gillotte, EDGE, Louisville
The Las Vegas Raiders are now addressing the pass-rush department and take Ashton Gillotte from Louisville. In 2024, Gillotte had 4.5 sacks and 10 tackes for loss. Across 51 college football games, he has 41 tackles for loss in total, so he has been able to get into the backfield with ease during his collegiate days.
The Raiders have totally revamped their DL in this NFL Mock Draft.
144. Mello Dotson, CB, Kansas
With pick 144 in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders take CB Mello Dotson from Kansas. Dotson had five interceptions and seven passes defended in 2024 with the Jayhawks, so he's got some nice ball skills, and doesn't it always seem like the Las Vegas Raiders need secondary help?
Let's see how their remaining picks shake out in this mock draft.
182. Jonah Monheim, OC, USC
You will notice a trend with their final four picks of this NFL Mock Draft. At pick 182, they grab center Jonah Monheim from USC. The Raiders did recently make an OL move, signing former Bengals and Buccaneers guard Alex Cappa on a two-year deal.
They should continue to bolster their offensive line room in free agency and in the 2025 NFL Draft. Protecting Shedeur Sanders should be one of their highest priorities. The Raiders are grabbing another player along the offensive line very shortly...
214. Devin Neal, RB, Kansas
Devin Neal is a neat dual-threat running back and another body the Las Vegas Raiders can add to the room for about five carries and two receptions a game. Shedeur Sanders will need a competent and efficient run game to succeed at the NFL level, and with the picks of TreVeyon Henderson and Devin Neal, the Raiders may have a frisky and young RB room for years to come.
Pete Carroll is leaving a huge mark on the Raiders in his first NFL draft with the team.
218. Dalton Cooper, OT, Oklahoma State
Two of their four final picks in this NFL Mock Draft are addressing the offensive line. The Raiders take OT Dalton Cooper from Oklahoma State at pick 218 here in our Las Vegas Raiders 2025 NFL Mock Draft.
224. Kurtis Rourke, QB, Indiana
You just never know what could happen at this point with a late-round QB selection. Brock Purdy was the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and was starting in the Super Bowl his second year in the NFL. Kurtis Rourke could end up being a fine backup at the NFL level, but for the Las Vegas Raiders and every other team that does not have competent QB play, they should be taking multiple QBs every NFL Draft until they find their guy.
There you have it - a Las Vegas Raiders mock draft. Would this mock draft put them on the path to success for the long-term?
