Miami Dolphins Select DL Jared Odrick 28th Overall

After not being satisfied with the talent available at 12th overall, the Miami Dolphins decided to trade down in the draft.

Miami’s selection of Penn State defensive lineman Jared Odrick is a bit surprising with the knowledge that Odrick would translate into a defensive end in Miami’s 3-4 system.

Kendall Langford and Randy Starks seem to have defensive end nailed down for the Dolphins, however depth is never a bad thing.

It’s hard to put down the pick too much when taking into consideration the high-motor player that Odrick is. He may not be the most skilled player in the NFL, but he certainly is a first-round talent who will give you 100% on every play.
