NFL Playoffs: Giants Lead Packers, 20-10, After Two Quarters

The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers have put together a very competitive first half of football. The Giants take a commanding, 20-10, lead into the half. Both teams are playing well on the defensive side of the ball, unfortunately, a negative moment seemed to have stolen the spotlight of the game. That was until Eli Manning hit Hakeem Nicks on an unbelievable hail mary to end the half.

In the second quarter, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jenning clearly fumbled the ball. However, even after reviewing the play, the officials called Jennings down by contact. The call not only changed momentum, but allowed Green Bay to tie the game, 10-10.

Late in the half, Packers fullback John Kuhn popped up a costly fumble that Antrel Rolle recovered for the Giants inside the 35-yard line. The turnover led to a 23-yard field by Lawrence Tynes, which gave New York the 13-10 lead.

The game was once again evenly contested before Eli Manning threw up a spectacular prayer to Hakeem Nicks, which was completed and extended the Giants halftime lead, 20-10.

The blown call was an unlucky moment in the first half, but the second half promises to bring us some of the highly contested action that we have witnessed in the first. We have an exciting 30 minutes ahead of us, folks. I hope you are all tuned in.
