Report: Colts Decided To Move On From Peyton Manning Weeks Ago

The Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Peyton Manning appeared to have a falling out earlier in the week, before Manning issued a joint statement with owner Jim Irsay. The statement was put together well and was made to convince Colts fans the two parties would work together to resolve the situation ahead, but apparently it won’t change anything.

Per NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, the Colts have decided to move on from Peyton Manning. Not only did they make the decision to cut Manning loose, but they made that decision a couple of weeks ago.

“According to sources who were involved in the Colts’ GM search, the organization was planning to move on from Manning weeks ago, well before this public squabble between the quarterback and his owner,” LaCanfora said. “So Friday’s joint statement won’t be changing a thing.”

It makes sense that the two sides would part ways, so it really comes as no surprise that the Colts reportedly have moved on from Manning. The only question left is “where will Manning play next season?” Early candidates include the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.
