Baylor Pro Day News, Notes & Photos

This post will be updated with information as the Baylor Pro Day progresses. Many scouts are in attendance, including head coaches Mike Shanahan (Redskins), Chuck Pagano (Colts) and Lovie Smith (Bears). Here are some of the notes from the Baylor Pro Day:

• The atmosphere at the work out is very relaxed. Music playing, players look loose. Everyone seems comfortable.
• RG3’s confidence and attitude rubs off on his teammates and creates a fun environment for all of those involved.
• As the work out went longer, the more impressive RG3 looked. He really showed big improvement on his ability to hit wide receivers on the run on underneath routes.
• Griffin did miss his receiver on a couple of occasions, but would come right back with a throw that was right on the money. You could see the mistakes bothered him. That speaks volumes of his competitive nature.
• Robert Griffin showcased his footwork and ability to drop back by taking many snaps from his long-time center. Fans were applauding RG3’s quick footwork.
• RG3 shows incredible ball placement and accuracy outside of the pocket. Always gives receivers a chance to make a play after the catch.
• Kendall Wright has also looked good running routes. The quickness and fluidity you would expect and really showcasing his hands.
• Robert Griffin III continues to look sharp. Very impressive performance by the future Redskin.
• Kendall Wright improved on his 40-yard dash time from the NFL Scouting Combine by running a 4.46. His second attempt was a 4.43. Runnnig back Terrance Ganaway ran a 4.47 at 240-pounds. On his second attempt, Ganaway ran a 4.53. Very impressive times for a well-built back at that size.
• Another running back, Isaac Williams ran an unofficial 4.37 forty-yard dash.
• Offensive lineman Nate Menkins put up 39 reps of 225-pounds on the bench press.
• The Washington Redskins, who are expected to select Robert Griffin III with the second-overall pick, are well represented at the Pro Day. Both head coach Mike Shanahan and owner Daniel Snyder are in attendance.
• Kendall Wright has helped his stock a lot. Should now be a lock to go in the top half of round one.
• RG3 ended his Pro Day by tossing a lateral to Kendall Wright and then running downfield for the catch. A nice way to end the very impressive workout.
• Griffin showcased all of the skills that have made him a top pick. No one should come away with any concerns. He is who we thought he was. A brilliant player with tremendous upside that is a joy to watch.
