NFL Draft 2012: San Diego Chargers Considering Trade Up For Mark Barron

The San Diego Chargers appear to be in “love” with a certain prospect in the 2012 NFL Draft and that prospect is Alabama safety Mark Barron. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune mentioned the Chargers have discussed the possibility of trading up for Barron on Twitter today:

Barron is a popular choice for the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets in mock drafts. Coincidentally, the Cowboys, Eagles and Jets pick consecutively from pick 14 to pick 16. If the Chargers would want to trade up, they’d need to try to get ahead of Dallas to make sure they land their guy.

The Chargers lost Steve Gregory in free agency and are in desperate need of help at safety, so the move to get Barron would make worlds of sense. The Chiefs at pick 11 could look to trade back, as could the Seahawks at pick 12 if they are looking to move back and still grab a prospect like Nick Perry.

The Chargers will definitely be a team to watch on draft day.
