Roddy White: It’s Crazy How Players Are Killing Our Game

facebooktwitterreddit

In a time when many former NFL players are coming forward and speaking about the dangers of playing football, Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Roddy White is growing tired of the noise and believes the former players are killing the game.

Some players, most notably Kurt Warner, have gone as far as to say that football is such a dangerous game that they would not want their children to play. White believes more players should abandon that stance and begin speaking up about their love for the game, which he did on Twitter.

One fan went on to ask White, “Would you ever trade your job for anything else?” and the message was heard loud and clear. White responded with, “No. I love playing football. If I can’t walk when I’m 50, it was well worth it.”

That is the attitude that many players have, despite the negative comments you hear in the media. While it may seem strange to the fans, you have to understand that these players have dedicated their entire life to reaching this point and putting their body on the line is nothin new to them.

Ask yourself: If you could live out your dream for 5-7 years, would you be willing to live your dream knowing your body could suffer long-term? I would say yes, as I believe many others would. So while some may want to criticize White for his comments, remember that his mindset is what has gotten him to this point and made him as good as he is today.
