Mickey Loomis Vows To Get Drew Brees Deal Done

The New Orleans Saints are in a lot of turmoil right now, and it is only getting worse as franchise quarterback Drew Brees is becoming more and more frustrated with his contract situation. Brees is upset with the team’s lack of urgency, but Saints general manager Mickey Loomis believes that a deal will be getting done.

“Drew loves the Saints and we love Drew,” Loomis said.

Loomis also said that Drew Brees’ deal is the most important contract that he has ever negotiated, according to WWL-TV. As for Brees’ public frustration, Loomis is understanding and understands where his signal-caller is coming from.

It is hard to argue with Brees frustration with the contract situation. He has seen his career flash before his eyes the last time that he received the franchise tag and he has done plenty for the Saints organization. They need to kick negotiations into high gear and get this deal done as soon as possible.

If they do not get Brees under a long-term contract, they risk completely alienating their franchise quarterback and seeing things sour, presenting an even larger issue for an organization that already has too much negative press on their hands.
