Trent Richardson Receiving Favorable Comparisons To Adrian Peterson

The Cleveland Browns selected running back Trent Richardson in the first-round of the 2012 NFL Draft and they have made no secrets about their plans to use the former Alabama star as their workhorse. Richardson is expected to make an instant impact in the NFL and should be considered among the favorites for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

When it comes to Richardson’s play on the field, he has received some very favorable praise.

According to the National Football Post, the Browns believe that Richardson compares very favorable to Minnesota Vikings rusher Adrian Peterson — who many consider to be the best back in the league. In fact, many believe Richardson’s pass blocking far surpasses the skill of Peterson’s, so they give him an edge in certain areas of his game.

If Richardson can live up to the hype, the Browns have themselves one hell of a running back and will see their team headed in the right direction. The question is, will Richardson be as good in the pros as advertised? We’ll have to watch to find out.
