Brett Favre Not Upset About Being Bounty Gate Target

One of the most famous examples in the bounty gate scandal, aside from Kurt Warner being dismissed from a game was Brett Favre

when he faced the New Orleans Saints in the NFC title game. And Brett Favre isn’t bothered about it at all, in fact the thing that upsets him most about the game is that he failed to take the Minnesota Vikings to a Superbowl.

"“My feeling, and I mean this wholeheartedly, is that I really don’t care,” Favre, a Mississippi native who grew up a Saints fan, said in an interview with NFL Network. “What bothers me is we didn’t win the game. And they didn’t take me out of the game. They came close, but a lot of people have come close.“I’m too stubborn to come out. Plus, that was kind of a big game. I’m not going to sit the last three minutes. I’m going to go out there with bones sticking out of the skin, I’m going to finish it.”"

The pool for taking out Brett Favre in that championship game was allegedly $35,000 according to mounds of evidence the NFL released earlier last week. That included $5,000 donated by Saints interim coach Joe Vitt.

NFL Player’s Association executive director DeMaurice Smith has asked Roger Goodell to reopen the bounty investigation. Jonathan Vilma (season), current Packers DE Anthony Hargrove (eight games), Saints DE Will Smith (four games) and current Browns linebacker Scott Fujita (three games) were also suspended, but have appealed.
