Denver Broncos defensive leader Elvis Dumervil was arrested on Saturday night n a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm according to a report from CBS Sports.

With training camp for Denver just a week and a half away, Dumervil had been apparently enjoying some R&R but at this time details are sketchy as to what actually happened to lead to the arrest. About the only other information we do have at this time is that a $7500 bond has been set for the matter.

The Denver Broncos have issued the now customary statement of neutrality:

"“Our organization is aware of the matter and is continuing to gather the facts. This is a very serious allegation, and we will thoroughly review the details while the legal process runs its course.”"

The Broncos will now likely be without their two leading defensive players with linebacker D.J. Williams also facing criminal charges. Things look much more serious for Dumervil however with the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm being a felony and as such he may face jail time depending on the severity of the crime which at this point is unknown.
