New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett had three catches for 44 yards during the team’s win over the Green Bay Packers in week 12. While Bennett caught all three of the targets he received during the game, it was a catch he made after the game on his way to the locker room that has him bragging.

Bennett caught a falling 52-year-old fan while giving his gloves to some kids after the game.

Bennett saved the man’s life and, in typical Martellus Bennett fashion, he had to explain the story in his own entertaining words.

“I was walking into the locker room, and some kids were like, ‘Hey, Black Unicorn.’ That’s what they call me,” Bennett said, via ESPN.com. “And then I was handing my gloves. Some guy, he was probably like 48 years older than the little kid that wanted the glove, but he tried to take the glove from the little kid, and the little kid like took it and ducked.

“And then he went over the top of the little kid and I just caught him. It wasn’t that big of a deal.”

Bennett attempted to be graceful following the catch, but thanks to a camera man he tumbled to the ground with the fan.

“I caught him and then I was about to set him down gently, kinda like when Lois Lane is caught by Superman and then he kind of takes her down and sets her down so she can land on her feet,” Bennett said. “But it didn’t happen like that.

“There was a cameraman behind me. You all know cameramen are the least athletic people in the world. I stepped on him. We both went down.”

Bennett saw the situation as his super hero moment and compared himself Marvel Comics superhero Cyclops.

“Cyclops has super powers,” Bennett said. “He’s caught people. He caught Jean Grey a couple of times. But all superheroes catch people at some point in time. Otherwise they’re not as super as they think they are.”

If the Cyclops powers weren’t enough, Bennett had even more comments about the lifesaving grab that included his use of spidey-senses. You have to hear them to believe them but you will surely get a laugh thanks to Bennett’s comments.
