Known to some as the “Patriot Killer” strong safety Bernard Pollard has signed a deal with the Tennessee Titans. Josina Anderson tweeted the news:

"“I just got off the phone with Bernard Pollard. Pollard told me, “I’ve agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Titans.” #Titans“"

While he has earned the reputation of  head-hunter and big hit deliverer he’ll be on his fourth team in seven years. He has the reputation of being a problem in the locker room and allegedly nearly staged a mutiny within the Baltimore Ravens organization on their way to a Super Bowl victory.

But while he is a head hunter like Roy Williams, he struggles in coverage, like Roy Williams. He’ll help make the Titans defense more feared maybe, and make wide receivers afraid of going over the middle, but he certainly won’t discourage teams from going deep and over the top.

Ironically the other Ravens safety is reportedly signing with the Houston Texans of the AFC South, the same division as the Titans. Pollard also previously played for the Texans as well.

While Pollard started every game he played for the Ravens, he could have more competition in Tennessee. They signed free agent safety George Wilson and they have Michael Griffin on the roster as well.
