The Atlanta Falcons let John Abraham go, and are looking forward to find a replacement. According to ESPN’s NFL Insider and professional tweeter Adam Schefter, the Falcons might have found their man.

"“Falcons making strong push to sign Giants free-agent DE Osi Umenyiora and are trying to wrap up a deal with him before end of the weekend.”"

John Abraham hasn’t signed with a team yet, and neither has Dwight Freeney or Elvis Dumervil. So by Umenyiora signing he’d essentially be the first dominio to fall and could lead to a chain of signings for the other 3 players. Teams in the discussion are Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and the New England Patriots.

Umenyiora isn’t the start of a youth movement, he is only 3 1/2 years younger than Abraham, but he could be effective in their defense for a few seasons as they look at that mountain top. Umenyiora brings Super Bowl experience to a team trying to make it to the big game and hoist that Lombardi trophy.

He’d probably fill the same slot on the right side of the defensive line that Abraham occupied leaving Kroy Biermann on the left side.

But as we saw with Elvis Dumervil’s mishandle situation. Nothing’s done till that ink is on the paper and filed properly.
