There are  lot of uncertainties surrounding Manti Te’o and his draft stock. He was a top talent and considered a no-brainer for the first round during the season. And throughout January and into march his life slowly unraveled. He played poorly in the BCS Championship game, the fake girlfriend story, and than the poor combine performance.

But now there is word that Te’o won’t slip out of the first round as many had thought he would.

“Most people around the league don’t believe he will get out of the first round of the draft,” ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter stated on SportsCenter Tuesday morning. “And I think you start about midway through the first round with teams that have needs at the inside linebacker position.”

Adam Schefter picks out the Minnesota Vikings in the mid 20’s as a potential landing spot. They have the #23 and the #25 (from Seattle) in the first round.

Minnesota is sending club officials to Te’o’s pro day on Tuesday.

“It’s hard to imagine, ultimately, that he gets out of the first round, in the opinion of various people around the league,” Schefter said.

There has also been some speculation that the Chicago Bears could be interested as they look to replace Brian Urlacher. Chicago and South Bend are really close. Some also think if it comes down to the Ravens at pick #31, they’d take him as well to replace Ray Lewis.
