Former NFL LB Rolando McClain retired from football earlier this year. He is only 23 years old and had a ton of potential left in his football career, but he had his issues with the law. H was arrested multiple times and couldn’t seem to find his way out of trouble.
Now, it sounds like he is making steps in the right direction. According to his former head coach Nick Saban, McClain is back at school in Alabama. A great step forward for the kid.
Who knows what the future holds for McClain, but if he can get his life back in order, he could have another opportunity open up in the NFL. Teams are always looking for talent. Teams are kicking the tires on JaMarcus Russell right now.
In 2010, McClain skipped his Senior year in Alabama to enter the NFL Draft. He was selected with the 8th overall pick by the Raiders and was the starting linebacker for them for the last 3 seasons. He was projected to fill in the shoes of Ray Lewis in Baltimore, but then he his issues with the law sprouted up again.
Hopefully he can make this a good story. A person that was absolutely broken and a constant issue, to a person that got his act right. Would love to hear about him graduating in the near future.
