Victor Cruz is on his way to Giants camp and is going to sign his restricted free agent tender. He will get $2.9M this year, but they will continue contract talks.

"“I’m going to sign my tender today and will continue talks for a long-term deal before camp starts,” Cruz said Friday morning."

Cruz is coming off of two monster seasons and is ready to cash in. $2.9M for the season would be a bargain for the Giants. Cruz will likely want to get over $8M per season.

In his last 2 seasons, he has racked up 2500+ yards and 19 touchdowns. He was a key factor in the team’s Super Bowl run and is a constant mismatch on the field. He is going to get bank.

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Cruz could still sit out training camp when it opens up back in July. That would be a mess.

The Giants and Cruz need to get that contract issue settled and get him working. Get a multi-year deal done and get him making plays on the field.
