Colin Kaepernick bringing the heat from the pitcher's mound

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick can bring the heat. The stinky cheese. And I am not just talking about the velocity he gets on his footballs. He can bring it on the baseball diamond as well.

Colin Kaepernick was warming up in the San Francisco Giants bullpen today and the 49ers posted an instagram of it.

I am assuming he is throwing out the first pitch or something. Maybe Kaep decided to go Bo Jackson on us and is trying to become a 2 sport star. Likely not.

Kaep played some baseball in high school. He actually was all-state twice and was clocked at 92-mph as a senior. He really can bring the heat and he probably could strike a couple of guys out in the big leagues. I am sure he could strike out a few Dodgers.

I love the athleticism of some of these players. Kaepernick is a rising star in the NFL and will be watched closely this season. The 49ers are favorites to win the division and could make a ton of noise in the playoffs. All those hopes lie on the shoulder of Kaep. He better not blow his arm out trying to blaze a fastball over the plate.

His first pitch tonight was clocked at 87. Nice gun.
