Some teams have already let go of some pretty big names during the offseason and there are sure to be a few other big names cut loose during the preseason. Here are a few players that will be fighting to keep a spot on their current roster.

Mike Vick QB Philadelphia Eagles
Nick Foles already seems to be the leading candidate for the starting quarterback job. If Foles wins the job in preseason, then it wouldn’t make sense for the Eagles to keep an expensive backup quarterback on the roster. Vick could be

Devin Hester KR Chicago Bears
This is one of the best kick returners in history, but that is his only role on the team and he may have lost a step in that department. With a new coaching staff in Chicago, there is no allegiance to keeping Hester around. He could be a nice special teams piece for some playoff contender.

Tony Moeaki TE Kansas City Chiefs
Moeaki was the player that was going to fill the shoes for Tony Gonzalez in Kansas City. And by fill the shoes, I mean do adequate enough to keep the fans from losing their minds for losing Gonzo. He did well in his rookie season, but then missed a ton of time with an ACL injury. He missed all the mini camps with new coach Andy Reid and won’t be available till training camp. The Chiefs signed Anthony Fasano this offseason and he could take over the starting duties. If Moeaki doesn’t have a good showing in training camp, he could be in the unemployment line. Wouldn’t the Patriots be happy to add a new tight end on their roster.

Any other big name players that you could be hitting that unemployment line soon?
