The Atlanta Falcons have lost their starting right tackle, Mike Johnson, for the year. He suffered a broken leg and he dislocated his ankle…Dang that sounds all kinds of painful. OUCH.

Now the Falcons are stuck without their starting right tackle for the year. DOUBLE OUCH. 3rd round draft pick, Lamar Holmes, is the next man up and will have to step his game up. There isn’t many options for the Falcons in free agency. Winston Justice would be the top right tackle available or they could look toward “The Big Lazy” Jared Gaither. Those options are not exactly pretty. They could be some sort of depth for the Falcons though. I would choose Winston Justice if I had to bring someone in (and I think they need to bring someone in).

I am sure that Matt Ryan would take anyone on the right side of that line that can get the job done. There were already questions about the line and this injury just makes it an even bigger question mark. This is the season for the Falcons to push through and make some noise in the playoffs. Another one-and-done in the playoffs will have fans going insane.

The Falcons are on the market for a right tackle. Almost anyone pushing 300 pounds will work.
