Arizona Cardinals DB Tyrann Mathieu is going to get to start in his second preseason game of his career. Mathieu has been the talk of the town during training camp and will get his first opportunity to steal the starting job on Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys. He will be stepping in for injured free safety Rashad Johnson.

Johnson sprained his knee and ankle in practice on Monday and will be held out of the game. It could be a costly injury. It gives an opportunity to a rising star to see more reps with the first team and make an impression on the coaches during game 2 of the preseason.

Let’s see how Mathieu performs this weekend.

"“For the most part everybody’s just telling me to play my role (and) everything’s going to come to me,” he said. “Don’t get caught up in the media and all the hype that’s going on right now, just go out there and keep doing what you’re doing.” – AP"

There will be a lot of eyes watching to see his performance. Mathieu was one of the fun players to watch during his college career and fans will be looking to see him make those spectacular plays in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals.
