The San Francisco 49ers and the San Diego Chargers meet up for that final tune up for the regular season. Most of the starters will be riding the bench for most of the game. This will be a final audition for the last roster spots on the team. Look for some relatively unknown players to make some plays on the night.

49ers Player to Watch: Quinton Patton

Patton was impressive in his debut with the team last week and he will be looking to make a lasting impression in the final preseason game of the season. The rookie has been getting people’s attention.

Chargers Player to Watch: Robert Meachem

This could be the final game for the veteran receiver. He hasn’t shown much during the preseason, so he needs a big performance to keep his roster spot.

Matchup to Watch: Brad Sorensen vs 49ers Secondary

The rookie quarterback has been impressive this preseason and he will hope to wrap it all up with a great performance against a shaky 49ers secondary.

Prediction

This game will look nothing like a regular season game. Colin Kaepernick and Philip Rivers will all be out of the game before the 1st quarter even ends. They will likely get one good drive and move on to prep for the opener.

49ers 17, Chargers 20.
