The Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons will do battle in the final week of the NFL preseason. Both teams are headed in different directions as the Falcons are looking to get ready for a Super Bowl run while the Jaguars are looking to find a quarterback and stay competitive.

Here’s a full preview.

Jaguars Player to Watch: Chad Henne

As mentioned, the Jaguars need to find a starting quarterback. Blaine Gabbert is having his issues and Chad Henne has proven time and again to be nothing more than a game manager.

It is hard to tell just how much action both will see, but one of the two is going to have to emerge in order to be named the starter going into Week 1.

Falcons to Watch: Robert Alford

Rookie Robert Alford is expected to play a large role for the Falcons next season and has had a sound preseason so far. That will have to continue against a weak Jaguars team in order for him to keep a firm grip on the starting spot.

Alford’s playing time and play itself will speak volumes as to how the coaching staff feels about him moving into next season.

Matchup to Watch: Jaguars QBs vs. Falcons Secondary

All of the above combines for one matchup to watch. The Falcons have a young secondary that is vulnerable and needs to prove itself. It’s protected by a nice pass rush, but the Jaguars quarterbacks have a nice opportunity here to shine if they can take advantage.

It’s also the matchup that will decide the meaningless game.

Prediction

Aug 24, 2013; Nashville, TN, USA; Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darius Johnson (13) celebrates avoiding a tackle by Tennessee Titans safety Corey Lynch (41) (not pictured) to score a touchdown during the second half at LP Field. Tennessee won 27-16. Mandatory Credit: Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons are the deeper team here, but not by much. With roster battles on the line, the final outcome does not mean much. If we had to guess, the depth of the Falcons will contribute to the win at home.
