Cleveland Browns Rookie LB Barkevious Mingo has been cleared medically to start practice. Mingo had missed a ton of time with the team after bruising his lungs in a preseason game. There are a lot of expectations from Mingo for the Browns. He is an explosive rookie that can attack the quarterback and the Browns could use his help on defense.

His bruised lungs were bad and he is just getting cleared to practice now. There is going to be a little rust on him. He is going to have to work his way back, but it shouldn’t take too much time. With Mingo out, Jabaal Sheard has held down the outside linebacker position opposite of Paul Kruger.

The Browns defense was very strong against the run last week. They held the Miami Dolphins to 20 yards on the ground without him there. Having Mingo’s skill set back on the roster will give the Browns a pass rushing threat on the roster now. It should make that defense a little more stronger. Let’s see how they are able to do this weekend against Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens offense.
