Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch has been fined $5,250 for wearing green shoes during last week’s game against the Houston Texans, according to Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith. I’m sure Marshawn Lynch doesn’t mind losing a few thousand bucks as a result, otherwise he wouldn’t have worn the green shoes in the first place. It’s not that the NFL hates green or anything, but, as PFT notes, the league mandates that all players wear the same colored shoes as their teammates. Lynch broke that rule (whether you agree with the rule in the first place is irrelevant), and thus he has to pay the fine.

Lynch loves wearing different colored shoes, and the only surprising thing is that he didn’t bust out the “Skittles” shoes again. Wearing those shoes, however, ended up giving Lynch a larger fine, as he was fined just under double the amount for wearing those shoes. All in all, he had an excellent game last week against the Houston Texans with 17 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown, and he was even a factor in the passing game with three receptions for 45 yards.

The Seahawks are facing another playoff-caliber AFC South team tomorrow in the Indianapolis Colts, and Marshawn Lynch will look to go “Beast Mode” again. He has enjoyed a great season to this point with three touchdown runs and an average of nearly 80 rushing yards per contest. Ignore the yards per carry average below 4.0; this guy has been really good.
