Roddy White could miss more than one game

The Atlanta Falcons already received devastating news when it was reported that Julio Jones will likely miss the season, and fellow star WR Roddy White is also dealing with a significant injury. White hasn’t missed a game this season despite clearly being hobbled by an ankle injury, and he didn’t miss Monday night’s game despite suffering a setback that week. A new injury, however, could force Roddy White to miss some time, as he emerged from Monday’s loss with a pulled hamstring. The news, especially on the injury front, just continues to get worse for the 1-4 Atlanta Falcons, and I feel absolutely awful for Falcons fans.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Roddy White “could miss at least one game” and maybe more after pulling his left hamstring on Monday. It’s more bad news for the Falcons, and the prospect of missing both star wideouts for at least one game is certainly not good news. On the bright side, Roddy White is one of the toughest players in the game, as he soldiered through the ankle injury this year and has played in 133 straight games.

That streak is very much in doubt, and the Falcons will closely monitor White’s health this week. His status for this week’s game against the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers is totally up in the air, and it would be an extremely difficult matchup for White. He would not only be covered by Darrelle Revis, but there would certainly be safety attention on him with Julio Jones out. The chance that White still misses games even after the Falcons Week 8 bye week is what really puts a damper on all of this, and let’s just hope it doesn’t get to that point.
