San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith has all kinds of issues that he has to deal with at this time and playing football is on the back burner. He picked up a DUI and also is facing 3 weapons charges for an incident in which he was stabbed at his own house. Sounds like a little bit of a mess off of the field.

San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was asked if Smith would be back on the field this season and he responded “I don’t know that yet” (Matt Barrows).

That is not good news for 49ers fans. The status for the whole season is in question at this point. Smith is currently entered into rehab for his DUI. He has played in 3 games this season and has 18 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Will he see the field again this season.

Smith is a stud on the defensive side of the football, but he has all kinds of off filed issues that he has to sort out. Not sure when he will be back, but the 49ers defense will miss having him out there.
